Google Now just an ordinary search? - HTC EVO 3D

I just installed The Disarmed Toaster 0.1.4. which is supposed to have Google Now.
And when I search for google now on youtube, it allways finds some fancy tricks, like:
"Remind me to walk my dog in 2 hrs", and it sets the alarm for you.
What it does in my phone, is it only searches google for the phrase. Am I doing something rong, or just don't have the right software?

I've been searching forum this answer too and on another thread it was mentioned the assistant side that performs tasks isn't ready yet and nothing released. It was met that might be an updates to the voice search app this fall. I guess time will tell.

So what that means really is: no google now for us non native JB users?

Can't get it to work. What I don't quiet understand is, why it says Google Now works in the rom, but then there is no google now. Hell, would ask there, but don't have enough posts.

No, what I mean is even nexus 7 users don't even have these functions yet. I just asked someone who owns one to verify too.

This won't work on disarmed toaster since it is jb. The Google now released in the dev section is ICS only and the assistant does work.

Good to know
Do you happen to know when we will have the fully working Now on our 3Ds? JB or ICS.

What dev section? I wasn't able to find it on the 3d's dev sections and there a ton of other threads that have differing versions of it. The one in android apps and games is difficult to keep up with too...

Haven't tried version 7 yet. Didn't know it was out! Where do we find it?
I mentioned that the assistant was working in regards to the question posed about setting alarms and such. As far as I know the hardware switching on and off functions are still not implemented in even the jb version.

Ah ok. That makes more sense. Your comment had me on the hunt lol. Actually, I worked my way backwards from the thread you referred me to. I don't remember how far back it was but there was a link to v7. Took me all day to find, but I looked in a few different threads and searches. Sorry I can't be more exact, but it definitely is in that thread.
I had been using v6 up until then.

How could you not figure out you need to be registered? It clearly states that?
Chad can't be open about his kernels because of a lot of drama. He was before and it caused a bit of a dev war and costed him a lot of money.
Is this another cm10 rom being developed from scratch or is this kanged? Been a big fan of Chad's but haven't been over to his page in a while.

Ah, really? That sucks. His CM 10.1 Black was my favorite ROM. What could he have done that was bad enough to cause the MODS to rid him and his great work from this forum...
That blows. I honestly was looking forward to an update to his Baked Jewel (Blackbean 8) ROM. It was amazing but the headset detection, MMS, and notification light was a dealbreaker from me. Well, i'm sure we'll find him on the other sites where his ROMs are located.

Updating radios

Don't have a computer nearby so can't really search. Anyone can supply me with a link to update radios to latest without the tp drivers I would appreciate.

You wouldn't have even needed to search so I don't want to hear/see any excuses
I didn't even do a search to find that. I went to the Android Development forum, saw an OTA post, saw what you were looking for, copied the link, and posted it on here. Besides, 1X speeds aren't going to effect Google or the XDA app drastically enough for you to not be able to find what you're looking for or do a search. Obviously it was just fine for your maneuvering to this forum, starting a topic, posting the topic, and replying to the topic. But I fed you your food so bless thanks. :good:

Okay. The other thing that I would try is doing a full wipe and fresh install of your ROM. If that doesn't work then I'm all out of ideas. This is the first I've heard of something like this. Aside from the Google wallet NFC issue. If that doesn't work, sorry I couldn't be of more help.

The S4 uses a different nfc chipset than older phones and may not be compatible with yours. I can't read any of my old nfc tags with my S4 that worked great with my Evo LTE.

That doesn't seem right. I know that the S4 isn't compatible with MIFARE tags, which the evo is. But both phones are compatible with the NTAG203 type tags. So that shouldn't matter.
If you want to test it, order some NTAG203 tags from somewhere like tagsfordroid.com and see if it works. Or see if someone has an S3 that you can compare it with.
Also, I just found this while trying to look up info about your problem. Apparently S-Beam, which is samsungs beaming program, interferes with android beam, which is what the evo uses.
The s4's have s-beam turned on by default, but they also have an option for android beam. So check with your friends and see if that is the case.
