Google Now Speaking Results? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Every video I see of Google Now online, or in commercials, it shows it speaking results...but on my EVO it doesn't do this. Does anyone's EVO speak results?

No don't be worried only be worrisome if she tells you to put it in her usb port like mine does.

It speaks results only when spoken to . If you type a search , you will not get a vocal response .

Even though I have the hotword detection enabled in the settings under voice, when I say "Google" to Launch Google now like they do in the commercials it never works. Anyone have any idea why?

Hey they ported over "S Voice" why not Dyle tv', it is on the play store but incompatible with all my devices.
I have the GNEX and I'm sure it can handle it.:silly:

I would assume there is some kind of hardware component that goes along with this service, but maybe not. if we can get someone out there to give up this app maybe someone can break it down for the rest of us to try..
I read somewhere when i was trying to find the apk that you have to be on metro pcs for it to work at all
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I did some more research, there is a dyle chip in the galaxy s lightray that enables the service to work. Dyle did tell me on the phone yesterday there are universal adapters for android phones and iPhones testing right now and should be released in a few months. Basically its just mobile DTV tuner that pics up the digital signal from local tv stations, no subscription fee required.

Google Now just an ordinary search?

I just installed The Disarmed Toaster 0.1.4. which is supposed to have Google Now.
And when I search for google now on youtube, it allways finds some fancy tricks, like:
"Remind me to walk my dog in 2 hrs", and it sets the alarm for you.
What it does in my phone, is it only searches google for the phrase. Am I doing something rong, or just don't have the right software?
I've been searching forum this answer too and on another thread it was mentioned the assistant side that performs tasks isn't ready yet and nothing released. It was met that might be an updates to the voice search app this fall. I guess time will tell.

Can't get it to work. What I don't quiet understand is, why it says Google Now works in the rom, but then there is no google now. Hell, would ask there, but don't have enough posts.

No, what I mean is even nexus 7 users don't even have these functions yet. I just asked someone who owns one to verify too.

Haven't tried version 7 yet. Didn't know it was out! Where do we find it?
I mentioned that the assistant was working in regards to the question posed about setting alarms and such. As far as I know the hardware switching on and off functions are still not implemented in even the jb version.

Is sexting ever blocked?

Are sext photos ever filtered/blocked by either Sprint or iPhone/ATT? I've noticed some things don't get through.
No, not that I've noticed. In an effort to answer this question without making any blatantly unfunny pre-pubescent jokes, I leave you with this. It's possible that it's just a failed send on their side.

Soo I obtained the apk, currently can't do anything with out "dev access" I noticed some interesting things inside the decompiled app. First off as a home, NO! I'm simply gonna modify the app to be just an app that's all it basically is. Just wondering on thoughts about the facebook home and or my planned modification for it.

As an app, it might be okay. I don't know about as home, though. I'm with you there. I would think it's similar to Blink Feed, yes?
Here's an idea
Hi
Would it be possible to implement facial recognition software and the Google picture search algorithms into the app.
Users could then use these to filter out all of their friends poorly taken pictures of what they are about to eat. Only well focused and exposed photographs of beautiful, young and healthy people with suntans and perfect teeth should slip through the filter.
Can you fix this?
