Best rom for stock kernel - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi
I've got quick question:
Since I can't unlock bootloader (11w43) and instal custom kernel (or maybe there is any way to do that...? ;>), which ROM is fastest and most stable? I've tried few roms and if You know something better than GingerDX it would be cool
I'm asking, becouse there are no modules for GDX on web and it's kinda lack of funcionality :/

x10mini (E10i or a) or x10minipro (u20i or a)? I'm guessing the pro...
Try ArcMiniNxt for the pro, or MiniCM7Pro...

MiniCM7 (by nAa) yes, but MiniCM7Pro (by Bpaul) is GB2.3.7 for stock kernel.

You have gintonic by slade87 too, which is what i'm currently using at this moment for almost a year now

Afeter one day testing: mCM7 is great aat performance and battery uptime, but I've got one problem: I can't install PowerAMP and Unlocker due to insufficient memory, and these are first apps I'm installing... Also changing default installation destination to SD card via adb terminal didn't helped with that, so... It's time to buy winamp

I can't find any issues with insufficient space in the ROM's dev thread, in fact, one guy says he had installed about 89 apps... I wouldn't buy WinAmp just yet if you have a problem with installing apps.
I vaguely remember having read something about an issue like that, but the solution escapes me, mainly because i haven't experienced it myself... There should be enough app-space on your data-partition to install at least a couple of applications, maybe a full wipe or maybe format /data in CWM (mounts and storage menu) will clear your problem.

You can use this thread if you look for stock kernel based ROM. Just Scroll down to PRO section then stock based ROM.

Be Careful ! Backup your system before because in this ROM, keyboard is disabled.
This is not a new ROM!
This is just a basic tuning.
exchange framework, and save the xrecovery
Do not use this "rom"

my friends look at these threads, this rom is not good and in all fairness is not a rom at all. it is a backup of someones stock 2.1 (take a look in your settings>about phone it says is eclair 2.1 meaning it is not built by the "dev" merely he has put apps on it and made a backup for you to restore)
not to mention that most of the apps on the rom are PIRATED or "warez" if you will. this guys threads at mini pro have been all closed and even one of my threads has been shut because although i made it to warn people of the "rom" people started to talk about using the applanet app on this rom to download illegal apk's MOST OF WHICH ARE MADE BY GUYS THAT USE XDA regularly Support devs and do not use this rom please i will be reporting this thread too if it links to the guys rom and this build has warez also

like i said ^^^ it is rubbish and full of illegal software that COULD in theory get anyone who installs it in trouble legally
meh
Guys! You are rude. Offcourse is the initial stock rom tunned. So what. Is his work, like i sayd in other post ( actualy lol it wass my ideea 3 days ago in x10 mini threads), it a beggining, no? until we will have a hacked boot , is better than nothing!!!! So we can tank s him.
And mehmehmen , to install a custom rom, you need a hacked boot! this is legal? NO! If it wass legal , the Sony leave the boot to install hwo cares what he want. So pls spaire us with you legal stuff!

I've not used MiniCM7Pro coz I have the mini not mini pro ( x10 mini ) and that is for the pro (The One with hardware keyboard ) So, if you have the pro go for the MiniCM7Pro v21 Final coz it has to bug free or very less bugs, I think so go for the later version if u have u20a or u20i or else u have to use the Mini CM 2.1.9 as I am using..Hope I have helped you......
i'm using MiniCM7-2.1.9
it's great rom
Hi,
I am using MiniCM7 2.1.9 since months, and what I can say is that latest version has not bug and it is fast....what expecting more ?
I'm using CM7 2.1.9 too. The latest kernel by Nobodyatlall simply amazing because it has ICS transition and the rom is by far the best for X10 mini device. Furthermore, my friend simply try to install Ungaze Data2sd and this makes it has plenty of internal memory (the script add up the ext partition internal storage).
I tryed both of them and what I can say (without any bad feeling toward anyone) MiniCM7-2.1.9 is more completed and bug free (I found 0) than MiniCM7Pro (problems with tethering and hot-spot, no possibility fo switch on-off flash-light from power widgrt in task bar.. and probably more).. Anyway probably the only one advantage is use of Go Ex Louncher that I use.. Performance is equal based on a subective feelings but not measured via benchmark (I do not believe them..) In case You have specific questions feel free to ask.. I hope to be able to answer You
i use this [ROM] GingerDX | is CM7 2.1.9 too with more stuf

Problem number 1:
This is the mini forum, not the mini pro forum.
Problem number 2:
You posted in DEVELOPMENT section just to ask which rom is better. Next time, post in the Q&A. development is, as the name obviously states, only for Android development(new roms, kernels etc)

I had MiniCM7 from V7-V21 about 4 months, all in all, great rom, BUT if you have unlocked bootloader, MiniCM7-2.1.9 + Kernel nAa-11 definitely this rom. Its much more responsive, faster, stable,no bugs (mine clocked 768mhz is flying),and its fully updated...
Just hit Thanks...

Installing MiniCM7Pro v21 OR CyanoCream

My kernel is the stock version. Basebands and all other requirements have been met. I have rooted my x10MP with Flashtool and unlocked Bootloader. I have also installed CWM. I do not have xRecovery installed as I assume one recovery program would be sufficient.
According to MiniCM7Prov21's thread, all requirements have been met. However, when I try to "install zip from sd" in CWM's menu, it always returns a message saying "Installation failed".
This was the same for CyanoCream's ROM.
Could someone help me out please? I've tried reading through the other threads but it seems no one had such problems.
The steps I followed were from the following threads:

As far as I know, both use xRecovery (a 1 year old recovery). I suggest you to install nAa's kernel and install or MiniCM7 2.2.0 or CyanogenMod9 v02.

Hmms might be worth a try then.

No, no need for both. xRecovery is old. No one uses it anymore.
Just flash nAa's kernel (there is a lot of guides out there), boot in CWM, flash either Mini CM7 2.2.0 (Android 2.3.7) or CyanogenMod9 v02 (Android 4.0.3) and be happy.

The first one is, with sure, the more stable. I recommend the second only if you want a really tasty Ice Cream Sandwish phone. It isn't the MOST stable, but it's more stable than a lot of other ROMs.
Good luck and give us a feedback if everything went well and if you liked.

Hi there! I've successfully installed MiniCM and it's working fine. Really like the new design. A little question though. As I need to time in Mandarin/Chinese from time to time, could you point me to any sources that can help me install a Chinese/Mandarin keyboard in addition to the default Android keyboard?
There's a little problem though. Whenever I miss a call, the phone will play a song along with the notification. However, this song isn't set as my notification tone. In fact, it is just one of the songs in my music library. Is there any way to work around this?

Heh Heh~ you've been of much help though. Thank you very much.
I've decided to search around the market for some chinese input apps. May try to pull out the stock chineseinput apk from my mum's X10 Mini when she's back ^^
As for the ringtones...I've managed to find a workaround, albeit a little troublesome but no worries.
once again thank you very much =)

x10mp - which custom ROM?

the stock A2.1 which came with my x10mp is ok, but now I'm finding many apps on the market which need A2.2+, and some nice features are missing (like native usb tethering, hotspot mode, I know there are apps on the market which provide these as a workaround "addon" but its nicer to have these supported natively).
the question is: should I install a custom ROM which provides features of A2.3 or later? would these ROMs run smoothly on the not-so-powerful x10mp? do they provide full functionality, or for example, the camera won't work?
which ROMs are recommended?
TIA

i reccomend that rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201116
MiniCM7 2.2.1 and ArcMini Nxt6 are your best choices.
You can also experiment with other roms based on ics or jb but I wouldn't recommend that.
x10 mini and x10 mini pro work like "beasts" with roms based on 2.3.7. Best day-to-day use at the moment...
I think the best rom for U20i is new GingerDX (mimmi) its smooth, stable, fast. But u cant overclock so much here so if u want bigger overclock try MiniCM7 by nAa, enjoy.

For now it's gingersony v06, you just need to flash a led fix ( only bug ) but the rest is fast and stable, it just has the problem that every rom has: getting stuck in the keyboard when scrolling maximum up/down on the sym/smiles, you just need to be gentle in that part.
The most syable roms will be Zencefil and Semc Debrand when the new version is released, zencefil may have more battery time of all and semc will be the most stable with that scrolling problem fixed.
If i helped press thanks .
AW: [Q] What's the most stable rom for the X10MP?
I agree to Crazy Seed, Gingersony is the best for the moment, but if you don't want to go through the pain of unlocking the bootloader and flashing a new kernel, I would recommend SonyStyle by BPaul, or, infact, GingerDX pro.
PS: Here is a list of most ROMs for X10 mini pro, you can go through the lists there, too, if you want:

Well, that is a good question: I'm a 'wannabe' dev myself, so I made a rom based on slimroms, which is based on minicm10. I solved the problem of too little space on the data partition, but the performance is still not comparable to cm7 and the sound isn't very good. Everything is working, just a bit slower than on cm7. Do you maybe want to test the rom?

You know, the problem is the hardware of our phone: There´s to little internal space and to little RAM, so we can´t really use the, compared with cm7, heavyweight cm10 to its full extent, ask Crazy Seed if you don´t believe me, he tested the ROM for me .

I believe you, but damn, such a waste, you're missing out on a whole new experience. Anyway thanks for all the answers, I guess I'll install the CM7!
Yes it's true, cm7 is the best rom for the mini pro and cm10 is simply too much heavy for out phone, i honestly don't think there will ever be a 100% stable fast cm10 for this phone because the hardware can't take it. Kilroy's cm10 rom it's true that has more space, and it's still in constant testing for perfecting the rom, there's still a long way to go but in time there will be solutions. I don't know why so many people want JB roms instead of GB roms, i tested both and the only difference i saw was that the cm7 performance was way too much better, but it goes with the tastes and choices of people.
Ps: sorry kilroy but i have to disagree about the other roms you mentioned, sonystyle has many bugs and lags and gingerdx has a radio bug and effect rendering not automatic at boot, but xperia blaze 3 rom is good for stock kernel and has walkman player ( i just don't like the srs trumedia that they put in the rom, best to remove it ), or else you just have to go trough the pain of unlocking bootloader and stuff to get Gingersony v06 the best rom for now.
Ps: Kilroy about jb players, now that i mentioned walkman player, why don't you try that one? xD.
Minicm7. its fast, very stable and excellent for everyday use. battery life is good. i have not had any major problems with it. Its awesome!
as been said before in this post, and also my opinion, GingerSony is now the best rom around for x10mini pro
