I believe wimax is working on some roms with the so-called developers kernel, I don't have a cdma version of the evo, but if you want more info, pm me

Great answer above, couldn't have said it better myself!
Same logic applies to 3D as it does to 4G support. HTC closed source code and requires reverse engineering.
As soon as 4G and/or 3D are reversed and supported this will probably occur with relation to CM, MIUI should quickly use the same files/code to add into their ROM.
Would watch for support in CM as this should be an early indicator as to the status of support in MIUI.

EVO 4G has 4G support in CM. I thought I remember hearing MIUI used the CM code for 4G support on the EVO 4G but perhaps they haven't. Either way, once CM supports 4G and 3D, MIUI will technically be able to as CM open sources all their code and is based on AOSP which MIUI also states they are based on.

So will we see an arrival of 4G when CM9 is available on 3D? Or are we still facing the same difficulty as we are with CM7 / 4G? Wouldn't the ICS source solve the 4G issue?

ICS source won't solve the 4G issue. The issue exists (i think..) because HTC doesn't release source for the Wimax code. So that means that it all needs to be reverse engineered and then rebuilt. I couldn't even begin to fathom how difficult and time consuming that would be.
I will say this, if we ever do see 4G on an AOSP rom for the Evo3D, I would think that CM9 is where it would be. Toastcfh and Shinzul (along with others from teamwin) are the ones who got 4G working on the Evo4G, and they're working on the CM9 build for us, so it is possible.
Ii remember cm7 with 4g for my og evo. It was tightttt haha asop+4g= goooooodness

Most of the times the Wimax radio is tied to some special rsa keys which makes it touchy for the manufacture and Sprint to share the code because of.the propertary information contains with the code.
That's why most asop roms don't have 4g access

I was looking at Newt's latest ROM in the development forum for CDMA and I was wondering if it will work on the GSM version of the phone too? If not is there anyone out there willing and able to post something similar based on the HTC One X? I am on Rogers and we have already launched the phone...

Virtuous has a rom but as with anything over sense 3.5 the cam isn't working.
Hi, I am looking for a new ROM for my EVO 3D.
Right now I have ICS Mik Virgin 1.01 with 3D working but my 4G is whacked out, not working, don't even know why and haven't checked if I have the rsa keys or not which I will.
What I am looking for is working 3D, 4G and to be able to tether the 4G on Jelly Bean or Ice Cream Sandwich flavor... MikMik gives me 3D but again, not sure if my 4G is hosed and stuck without 4G because I failed to read warning signs...?
Anybody has any idea? (while I investigate my RSA keys? or a way to fix them I guess?)
If that is a Sense 4 based ROM or later 4G won't work. Use any of the popular ROMS in the development section. And check your keys if that is a sense 3.6 based rom.
I'd flash zr3dxl or homebrew. Both are sense 3.6 roms so everything works. Then you can test your 4g.

Make sure you download the Sense 3.6 version, zr3dxl, not the sense 4 versions. The sense 4 versions don't have 4g.
Actually if Sense 4 versions are better but no 4G that's what I need. But do they have 3D working? And do the pictures come out bright and not dark?

With Sense 4, everything works except 4g and 3d. The 2d pictures come out normally in my experience.

I *KNEW* there was a catch... no 3D... EVO 3D with NO 3D, how exciting.. (just kidding, but really...)
I'll stick to XL + using Apex launcher... Gives me a JB feeling.
