Without the phone version it will be hard to help because the firmware you posted is for Galaxy S, GT I9000
Swyped from my Galaxy SII

Check phone model by taking out batter and writing down everything written on the phone beneath the battery place.

Which phone do I have

I have a canadian galaxy s2, and I am just wondering, first which of the 3 versions I have, because when I click on our phone to just show our accessories, q&a, and stuff, there is 3 for android development. I'm trying to figure out which one I am because I bought my phone used off kijiji. Also once we figure that out, I want to go back to complete stock, and then update to the latest revolution remix. or what ever it is called.
I don't mind chatting through private messages?

S2 I9100 won't start after flashing CM9 Stable

Hello Friends,
I am in desperate need of your help.
I am a moderate user and I know how to stuffs about Rooting and flashing custom ROMs.
Today I tried to flash CM9 stable ROM for International Galaxy S2 I9100. I did it using temporary CWM.zip file and everything went just fine till the installation of ROM. But when I clicked Wipe Data, suddenly phone went off and now it doesn't start.
I tried everything, tried to enter into Download mode and Recovery mode but all was in vain.
Please help me what should I do now? And is my phone ever going to come back to life?

I was using,
PDA: I9100XWLPT
CSC: I9100NEELP4

Do you know what kernal you had at the time, for the phone to go off during a wipe sounds like the brick bug but I didn't think it was present in LPT. Can other members clarify please. Does your phone charge when plugged into charger?

I'm sorry but that's your fault.
It's being said 1 million times already, that wiping your data in CWM while running stock 4.0.4 ROM with a stock kernel will BRICK your phone.
Your inability to read might have left your phone bricked.
Read through the forum next time, ask questions if you don't understand anything and I can assure you will be luckier next time.

Yes there are many threads in this section and on xda portal warning you about the brick bug...
Almost all 4.0.4 have a brick bug... moreover it is caused when we do a data wipe. I believe you have bricked your device... sorry for that

that's why I blamed you for this. You did not read or ask before wiping but was only guessing.
This is a sticky thread under General section warning everyone about the buck bug. Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756242
I and many others have also warned people about this bug but the unfortunate thing is that most of ask these kind of questions after the problem has occurred.

As far as I know all 4.0.4 ROMS have MMC_CAP_ERASE enabled, so in case of having bad chip and using wipe under temporary CWM floating around you will brick your phone. Although seems the problem is only in touch version of CWM. More detailed information can be found in 1st guide in my signature where Phil was talking with Entropy512.

Sorry dude
You might have to send your phone to device center for repairs but if you are out of warranty or wants to try to Fix things yourself, then the advise/instructions below is for you:
-boot your phone with usb jig, if you can get to download mode, then proceed to next step
-Visit this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841099

Hi guys,
Thanks for all your replies.
I already figured it out that I have bricked my phone. But I was under impression that Data wipe with CM9 ROMs is not dangerous. At the time of failure I had already installed CM9.
Guess now I'll have to send the phone to Service center.
One thing I want to ask, "If the phone is hard bricked, is there any chance of them knowing that I had installed a custom ROM?"
If they can't then it might help me since my phone is still under 1 year manufacturer warranty.
Please reply and Thank you for your replies. The latest adventure of mine turned out to be painful one!!

I don't think so. since you can't boot into either recovery or download mode.
Even if you have an increased binary counter, it will be cleared once your device is forced with a usb jig to boot into download mode.

So if you can't enter into download or recovery mode there is no way to find out if i have used any custom ROM or rooted the phone?

Can I change my ROM from villian to stock?

Hi,
Last year I rooted my SGS II, unlocked it from Orange and installed Villian ROM (which I have bee perfectly happy with). I've just ordered my new upgrade SGS III (on T-Mobile), which will be here in a few days
As a result i want to sell my SGS II, but hink it would be more attractive if it were a stock samsung ROM.
I'm a bit rusty on flashing etc as it was quite some time ago that I rooted/flashed the phone, so I just wanted to ask if I can simply download the stock ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487)? and flash using Odin to replace the custom Villian ROM?
Don't really want to brick the phone!
My SGS II is as follows:
Originally Orange I9100P
PDA: I9100XXK13
Phone: I9100XXLPB
Model: GT-I9100
Kernel: 2.6.35.11-ninphetamine-2.0.5+
VillianROM 3.0
Thanks

Yes it is a I9100P
I would just like to get a fairly standard Samsung ROM working on there so it has stuff like allshare and swype etc. But obviously still want it to be unlocked.
It is branded I9100P on the back cover next to the Orange logo, so I guess that is what it is. Although the phone reports it is an I9100, but I guess this could be down to what I done to unlock it (though for the life of me I can't remember how I did it).

Many thanks for the offer. Yeah, as you say, probably not worth the grief.
As long as I can get a standard type ROM running and unlocked I'll be happy.
My new S3 arrives Tuesday, so I'll wait unitl then before doing anything with the S2, just in case of any issues as I don't want to be left without a phone.
Just out of interest, what is a mint S2 worth roughly?
Could be around £230-260.I only keep my eye open for cracked screen/dont switch on ones.
They can go for up to £160.
Just put it on eBay for a starting price of £200 or a buy it now for what you want.....or let it roll from 99p and get your mates to bump up the price...

off the phone
- press volume up + home + power button, release your hands as soon as the phone lights up
It's like the opposite of download mode

Thanks, disaster averted , has now rebooted with ICS 4.03, which is what I was after. No yellow warning triangle, which is fine.
Just need to make sure it is still network unlocked, but initially looks like it is.
Can't thank you enough for your prompt and awesome advice.
Cheers,
We5ty.

No one has tested it with the "V" version before i think. Infact Almost all of people here have not heard of this model i'm guessing. It would be a risk now to try and flash a custom firmware of 5830i/c/m on your "v" model, unless you are sure that the chipset of v is same as i/c/m. And i think if your phone is carrier locked by vodafone, you'll have to keep extra precaution not to overwrite your baseband
......
thank you so much i did hit the thanks for you
my phone is unlocked from vodafone and im only trying to flash a stock firmware from the middle east so the phone can read arabic however i will check the chipset as u advised

Ur welcome hope something works out for you. If there is no compatibility issues n u r successful in flashing cwm recovery, don't forget to take a nandroid backup of your current Rom before proceeding.

Is it ok to the flash the stock s5830i ROM on the galaxy ace s5830 v?
Really appreciate any helpe
Thanks guys
Dude, probably this wouldn't help u at all but, in another thread andres said he never saw this model GT S5830V too
In his thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907298) about samsung source codes for S5830 and variants, have this model with an ICS source.. My hope is your phone be similar to ours and then maybe devs can use this codes to get us an stable ics port
Finally good news i successfully flashed a stock galaxy ace s5830i ROM on my galaxy ace S5830V it was straight forward with odin3 V1.85
It took less than 5 minutes and all is good:laugh:
how do you get in the downloading mode, "Home+ Power+Volume Down" doesn't work for me?
Download mode: Volume Up + Volume Down + Power
Recovery mode: Volume Up + Home + Power
