Video player? Default (idk name)
What kind of video files? .avi, .mp3, . mp4 (even videos convertet to "android" version)
Resolution? Highest that can be played for evo 3d (i think 1280x760)
Bitrate, codec? I really dont know, ussualy clips from youtube and music (.mp3)
Does a reboot help? No
Have you tried another sd card? No, i dont have another sd card.
ps: I return all to factory setting and it seems ok now, i google it and most of ppl saying its because of adobe flash player update so i still didnt update adobe from factory settings. And to be more worse, adobe stopped updating flash player.

It's not Adobe Flash. Flash player has nothing to do with the music player cutting out.
Usually when it cuts out, it means the file is not accessible. So, it could be an SD card issue..
Try borrowing an SD card from a buddy and see what happens. Also, don't be scared to update flash player.

If you have problems playing videos it might be a codec problem.
Rockplayer is a pretty big app (get the ARM7 version for the Evo 3D) but it plays most videos that other players don't.

really? is there anyway i can link it to the movie i have in my phone i accidentally deleted the original avatar
if you deleted the movie from your memory card you are probably out of luck, if you just removed the apk then you can launch the video with the default video player or from within the gallery.
i tried both 720p and 1080p in a mkv container and neither worked. i think it supports divx hd but i dont have any videos in that format.

Are you sure it was encoded properly. Usually they need to be at the right level like AVC 3.1 base profile or something like that, I don't know much about it, but I know many players are picky, make sure it's encoded at the right settings first.

Install astro file manager from the market (free) then go to your home screen, long press, choose shortcuts, then astro, navigate to the video, then select done. It'll show up with a film reel icon and when you click it it'll just play.

What about simlinks? don't they work in android? Could you not create a simlink on the sd card that points to the internal memory location of avatar? You would have to add it to any sd card you want to use in the phone, but seems like a better solution that losing the icon.
Just write an app that points to the movie on your sd card and then opens it in a media player and you can supply whatever icon you want. The app would be like 6 lines tops

My HTPC plays the same files that my Vibrant seems to be able to play. I've thrown some 480rips, 720rips at it and it plays fine. I've only thrown Divx/Xvids at it thou.
The biggest file I've though at it was a 3.2gig file and it seemed to play just fine. 5.1 encoded as well.
I just tried a 1080p mkv file and it said "file type was not supported". Then again I don't know if mkv is supported in the first place since I haven't really tried any other than the one I tried nor do I know if 1080 is supported.
I tried another 720p mkv and it played fine.

My Aria can play mp4 format videos by itself, but since you have no luck in playing it, just download and install the rockplayer. It can play many more formats than the phone alone can play.

weird... i found VPlayer (Free Trial) on my computer on the droid market, but not on my phone market... anyways, it says that the program is not compatible with my device. now that i think of it, i guess that is why it isn't showing up on my phone
any other suggestions? it seems like it doens't like these bigger files. i will even get codec format not supported. i try a 111mb video, and it force closes...

What android version do you have? Do you have the official 2.2 or stock 2.1? Or did you use Cyanogen mod to update? The Aria is capable of playing mp4 videos on its own as I said in my first post.

The Aria requires very specific specifications for MP4, or else it will not play.
Try using Handbrake and follow closely with these instructions.

it seems to work, just a little sluggish :/
Rockplayer tries hard to play the video, but plays it extremely sluggish, like 1 frame per second or so.
Try yxplayer it works fine ...

I tried different players and saw that most of the players work the same way. They all play the same files and cannot play the other ones.
Except Moboplayer, which played a 900mb AVI file very well, with synchronized audio, video and subs.
So it seems Moboplayer is a good option. Although on Aria it's a >10mb phone memory hog.

[Q] 720P

hi
i'm trying to run 720P movies on my device, and unfortunatly their not running smooth at all...
at first i had no sound, so i downloaded a codec pack. it helped and now i can hear but it's still very laggy.
I don't want to start d/ling every codec pack on the market until it'll run smooth...
anyone knows what's the proper codecs for this device?
thanks

What type of 720P video is it? Perhaps it's your SD card not reading fast enough. The Quallcomm SOC is capable of playing back 1080P videos with no issues, so I'm not sure why 720P video is choppy.
Are you playing back in Software or hardware mode? Have you tried moboplayer on it?
well
i was playing from the devices memory, not an external SD. so its not that.
i dont know what software/hardware modes are
but i tried V player and it works ok for now. thanks
720 and 1080 both record and play back beautifully for me.

Use your PC to Rip em and convert them to mp4, then copy the mp4's to your Jetstream. It's not the most straight forward thing so you may have to google whenever you get stuck.
This ought to get you started though... http://lifehacker.com/230349/rip-dvds-with-vlc

DL the MX Movie player app and then use SW decoding.
EDIT - recently installed vlc and when I select a movie it gives the option of playing with the native gallery movie player even though they don't show up when you open the gallery. Great picture and allowed for SRS AND 5.1 sound.

[SOLVED] - Audio sync messed up on .mp4 video (internal memory)

I'm trying to watch an SD version of BSG Season 2.. Plays fine on my iPad 2, and on my computer, so I know the audio is in sync in the file.
I originally had the files on my class 4 micro sd card, so I moved them over to internal memory thinking the card was too slow.. I'm still having this issue.
I've tried, a few players.. MX Video, Dice w/ tegra 2 plugin, and VPlayer..
Any suggestions on how to improve playback and audio sync? This is killing me man.. Cylons are all over the place I gotta know what's gonna happen!!!
I tried 'Force GPU Rendering' or whatever the option was in Developer Options, and that improved things a bit, but it's still off.. Is it just the mp4 format maybe? I can't imagine this thing can play HD if it's choking like this on an SD mp4 video file..
n/m, BS Player seems to have resolved the issue, even if I uncheck 'Force GPU rendering'.

Must be something odd with the encoding. I know you got it to work in bs player but should have worked in all. And I can assure you it plays hd just fine. I have a 1080p mkv of a 2 hour movie that is 11gb and it play flawlessly.

Can't really answer that question as I haven't done much encoding for the prime or in general in a long time. I just throw on the file as it comes. I may start doing so to get them smaller when I strart filling up my space.

[Q] Video Player for .mkv

What do you all use for a video player? Anyone know one that can play .mkv files? I'd love to be able to yank a TV show from my NAS and watch it on the subway or something without having to convert or re-download in a different format. Most of my shows are x264 if that helps...
I played around alot with my Evo3D and never could get playback to stop stuttering (can't remember which video player), but I figured this more powerful phone might be able to...

It worked great for me on my EVO3D, haven't tried it yet on the LTE but it was the best by far for the 3D that I found.

Just curious, were you running your files off internal storage or an sdcard? I tried it off my SD card and actually had stuttering just now. I may just need to reformat and recopy it over.
Internal. Don't have an SD card yet...
Your question gets me to thinking though....it took like 45 minutes to transfer that 2.2Gb file over wireless. Should write speed be slow slow for internal storage?
Shouldn't be that slow but I would venture as to actually pulling out the micro sd card and using a card reader. That's what I always do much faster.
Edit sorry didn't see you had a sd card yet. Wireless itself is somewhat slow but this is flash memory should be fast.

Dice was only one that handled MKV audio for me. Stock player and mx both play 1080p mkv no issue, but without ac3 audio.
I have a 32gb class 10 msd card. Hdmi out worked fine as well with all players barring audio issues with all but dice

Interesting. I'm getting choppy playback on multiple types of .avi files. Anyone else experiencing any issues with DicePlayer? I've tried playing from the sdcard and internal phone storage. It starts stuttering immediately and continues throughout.
Ive been using MX Player with the Decoder setting at "S/W decoder (fast mode)" Works great with subtitles too.
