Go to dev section, and open the thread for flashtool and check out how to install the drivers manually, many users have that problem, sorry can't paste the link as I am replying from my phone.. Once you have installed the drives just flash back to stock All the best
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium

And the thread you mentioned is for unlocked bootloader only!! If you have already unlocked the bootloader than why go for that procedure.. It's very old... Directly flash a custom kernel with a Recovery and root

Hit thanks instead of saying it
And what you gotta do is this..
download http://www.mediafire.com/?lt8ghch95u5abgo
If you open it, there are 2 zip files.
1. open drivers.zip
2. extract it somewhere
3. open device manager (or whatever it's called in English windows)
4. connect your Xperia S in fastboot mode (volume up and plug in USB)
5. in less them 3 seconds, hit right button on S1(something device with exclamation mark)
6. select "update drivers"
7. select somewhere\x64\usbwin folder
8. hit ok.
at this time your Xperia S will be allready out of fastboot mode.
9. wait for windows to install drivers
10. wait another couple of seconds, and plug Xperia S in fastboot mode again

Installing ClockworkMod Recovery

Hi,
I'm on the process of installing ClockWorkMod Recovery, stupid of me i forgot to enable USB Debugging option on my phone. Now I'm stuck on Command Prompt saying...
C:\Fastboot>fastboot flash boot recovery-nozomi.img
< waiting for device >
It has been sitting for more than 5 minutes as I am typing now. Should I disconnect the USB cord? Would this action brick my phone?
Sorry for my stupidity!

I disconnected the cord. Turned on the phone and noticed that USB Debugging is ticked/checked. So I repeated the process but I am still getting..

Hi soulhackereborn!
Sorry for the late reply! Sorry the forum prevented me from posting the URL as I am just a new user here.
"To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!"
Anyway the tutorial says (copy&paste):
Use the computer for downloading the CWM file from here.
Then, on the same computer download fastboot from here.
Extract fastboot on C:\ drive.
Then, copy the downloaded “ecovery-nozomi.img” file to the Fastboot folder from your computer.
Now you must connect the phone in fastboot mode with the computer.
In order to do so you must plug the USB cord to the PC, then on your phone press and hold the Volume Up button and while doing this connect the USB cable to your Xperia S.
Up next, on the PC click on “Start -> Accessories -> on Command prompt right click -> Run as administrator”.
The command prompt window will now be displayed.
Now, enter the following commands (press enter after each one): “cd c:\Fastboot” and “fastboot flash boot recovery-nozomi.img”.
CWM will now be flashed.
In the end the “finished / OKAY” message should be displayed.
In command prompt enter “fastboot reboot”.
Your handset should now reboot into ClockworkMod recovery.
Remove the USB cord and disconnect the Xperia S from the computer.

everything seems to be good in the tutorial though..
But what is it a kernel, rom or an CWM image file ???
if still it says waiting for device then here's a couple things you should check :-
1) Fastboot ie; S1 Boot driver installed or no
2) Switch off phone and connect it to the PC via usb holding Volume + button (this is fastboot mode)
3) Check does your device remain in fastboot mode or no i mean purple led light glows stays on continuously or no until u execute the command, if not reinstall the driver and try again
4) If everything well till now try flashing with the given commands without the quotes ie; fastboot flash boot recovery-nozomi.img

1. I dont know how to check, it should be installed as i unlock the bootloader yesterday. I actually manually updated it on Device Manager.
2. I understand this.
3. On my case, it's a blue LED lit steadily after doing step 2. I am using Sony Xperia S.
4. Yes, i flashed them without the quotes.

Try rebooting both your PC and phone... This is a small thing but always helps and one more thing after switching off the phone n before connecting it in fastboot mode let der be a gap of alteat a min or two
Is this tutorial on xda or some other forum if on xda then try messaging me the link or tel me forum sub forum topic and title
Usually <waiting for device> can show up when you don't have proper drivers installed. Double check them if you haven't done so.

Dude as far as I know there is no need to check/ tick USB debugging for fastboot... It's just for flashtool..
Try re -installing the drivers again manually or let windows search over internet...
Finally, i made it! thanks to both of you!
fastboot.exe seems to be corrupted!
Problem solved!
Just last one question, now that i have CWM recovery on my phone, is it already rooted? sorry i am beginner...

Yes ur rooted!!
Thanks!
I'm currently downloading Cyanogenmod ver 9.1. Hopefully it works! Thank you so much buddy! You have been very helpful! If I get problems on flashing CM9.1, i'll contact you , hehe
One of the reminders on isntalling CM9 is:
Make sure that your Xperia S is already running a rooted firmware, and that it has the ClockworkMod Recovery properly installed.
How do I know I have a rooted firmware? Do I still need to flash FTF file?
By the way, I am getting a boot loop from CWM recovery, I cant go to the homescreen, no option to turn off! It only reboots the CWM.
(Still downloading CM9 as of the moment)

Hello arcsuser,
Thanks for your help,
I have downloaded the zip file as proposed.
unfortunately I was not able to install it because I don't have the root access on my tablet.
If there is a way to install the zip file without the recovery mode I'd be glad to know it.
if not, I will have to go through the process.
thanks again for your help.
let me know if there is a way without the root mode

Actually I have now the same question than "OP" on the recovery mode. I have now rooted the device the "super user app" is available and activated.
but I still can't access the recovery mode. I have tried the key combination mentioned in your post to "OP". then I referred to the post from DooMLoRD "All the info you need before you begin" with the Xperia Z tablet where the recovery mode is described.
I have the sony screen displayed, then I press volume up, the boot is going the normal way.
I tried with the usb cable connected to the PC, then it goes directly to the Xperia logo.
I tried the normal reboot (one light falshing) and the hard reboot (3 lights flashing) I do not have the device vibrating like explained by DooMLoRD.
Is this the reasn ?
thanks for your help again.

you can install it Here

I have downloaded and tried unsucessfully to flash the recovery tool.
I couldn't access the flash mode as described in the basics from DooMLoRD.

I'm afraod I will need some tutorial to go through the steps of fast boot...
thanks
You don't need recovery to install the apps if you have root. Just unzip the file using root explorer. The unzipped file will show from the structure where the files have to go so just copy them to the corresponding folder on the tab using root explorer. (apps, and their associated odex file if there is one, will usually be in /system/app folder) Don't forget to set the permissions (rw-r--r-- for system apps and odex files), also using root explorer. Reboot and if they're gonna work as system apps they will...

My final goal is to install the gapps on my tablet, I have downloaded the package the android 4.1.x.

to install the recovery mode I have downloaded the TabZ_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel.img.
For the next step I need some help because I can't install the *.img through flashboot toolbox. or anything else for that matter.

[Q] Xperia U stuck in boot loop (more in the post)

Hello everyone,
I encountered a problem while flashing a new rom on my new (actually 1,5 years old) Xperia U.
I rooted it and managed to instal the CWM touch recovery (using the CWM-instaler) and when i tried to flash a new rom (eXperiance V2.1)
the rom stopped installing (it has a special installer where u select apps and stuff, u probably know of it) and it didn't move on... i had no other option but to take out the battery. When i tried to turn on the phone again it just showed the sony logo, then automatically restarted, showed the logo again for a few seconds and restarted, and kept doing that until i took out the battery again...
So i tried the flashtool and i can connect the phone in flashmode (green led), but i cant connect it in fastboot mode (it connects but then suddenly disconnects as the phone restarts). I wanted to flash a new .ftf file but somehow when i put my file in the /firmware folder and turn on flashtool it is not visible in the files i could flash (just the stock x10 file is there) so im really at a loss...
Anyone got any ideas?
i did backup my previous rom but since i cant boot my phone into recovery that's not a lot of help...
I might also mention that the phone was running ics 4.0.4. and that the bootloader was locked ( i did have root tho...)
If you want any extra info just ask
Any help would be appreciated thank you
Solution: I did what dara007_168 said, which was:
1. Put the file into folder firmware(make sure the file is FTF
2.open flashtool don't do anything
3.select lightening icon and select flash mode then select the download firmware
4.wait for the pop up said
"Turn off your device....."
5.turn off your Xperia u at least 30 second
6.press the volume down key with the same time connect your phone to computer via usb (make sure to have driver install)
7.wait till it finished done
at first this didn't work for me since i had some problems with the flash tool but then i re-downloaded the older version of the flashtool and the firmware and also reinstalled the drivers.
After that it worked and i could normally flash the generic firmware.
Links:
https://unrestrict.li/flashtool (select older version if the new one doesn't work)

Thanks for the quick help to everybody

How could you flash the kernel with a locked bootloader?
Have you installed the drivers from flashtool drivers directory, what windows version you have?

Edit: I tried using sony update service and it gave me an error stating that the software installed on my device cant be updated... probably becouse it has a half of a custom rom flashed, or am i missing something here?
Bro I think you should flash stock firmware. I think u know how to use flashtool that easy.
1.charge battery until it full i don't know if u can charge battery or not but u should
try. I have the same problem by flash the same rom as your but mine is different it stuck on the boot animation so it can charge but u I don't know
2.download stock firmware
3.flash it
4.done

I should do that. Can you please provide the links to both the Flashtool you are using and the stock firmware, since don't know why the ones i used didn't work.
I mentioned before when i try to copy the firmware file in to the appropriate folder it works, but its just now visible in the flash tool window to select.

Firmware is flashed in flash mode not fastboot, see how long can you stay in flash mode, though fastboot should be on forever.
Did you unlock your bootloader?
@ dara007_168 I think the phone should be reasonably charged, since i started doing things on it with a full charge and didn't really use it much, so i don't believe that's the problem. I downloaded the firmware u said and again i have the same problem with flash tool... i put the file in the correct folder, but when its time to flash it to the phone (which is correctly connected) it just isn't there, i cant select the the file i downloaded.
@ ChikeD The flash mode stays connected for about 45sec and then it goes into boot loop and about the boot loader i actually think i managed to unlock it a few hours ago (i did the necessary steps on the sony site and got the code before i bricked the phone) and now i entered the number in the flash tool and i think it actually did unlock my boot loader... although i don't know how to check that...
Oh, and fast boot mode stays on forever i think (ill let it charge a bit in fast boot mode, since the red light beside the camera is on so i think its charging)

Yow man, thanks for helping me out like this but there is a problem when i try to do those steps.
At step 3. I select the lightning icon, and the small pop up window appears and i select flash mode, and then
the window opens called Firmware selector, but the firmware is nowhere in that window and i don't know why...
i know where it should be i checked some videos it just isn't there...
Would it help if i posted screenshots of all the steps?
ow and another thing.
would it work if i tried to use fastboot and flash a kernel from that option? or maybe even flash the firmware?
And i guess this might be a useful peace of information, i am using Flashtool Version 0.9.12.1 built on 2013-06-04 22:50:00

No bro stuck at sony logo i don't think it a kernel problem i think its because of missing system apps like boot animation or something. Can u post a screenshot where u select the firmware?if u can please post a video we are Xda all here to help u

INSTRUCTIONS: [redmi note 3]

2. If you can open your current rom, open developer options by clicking on the build no several times in the about phone menu in settings. and select allow oem unlocking and usb debugging.
3. if not leave it... go on and connect your phone to the PC while in fastboot mode.
BUT, before that: open Command prompt on your PC. (search it on the search box). right click on it and open it in administrator mode.
type in: bcdedit /set testsigning on
hit enter and restart your pc

4. open the zip file and extract the contents. open the boot edl mode folder and click the edl.bat file. allow it to run.

your phone will boot into the TWRP recovery mode automatically.
if it opens in chineese you select every tab and find the globe icon.
if the globe icon is found on any of the tab select it and change the language to ENGLISH.
wipe your system from the wipe tab:
Now download the latest CM13 SNAPSHOT BUILD ROM FOR YOUR REDMI:

I lost my Xperia Z2, or is there still a solution?

Recently I installed a room on my Xperia Z2 (Ressurection Remix). It worked fine until I lost the password of my lock screen, and to solve I tried to access my recovery to give a wipe, however the room did not give access to my recovery (TWRP 3.0.2.0), to solve I tried to install my firmware Original Xperia Z2, by the flashtool, I installed all the drivers of my device and when I went to try to enter the flashmode mode the cell phone did not enter (lit a green LED and then red and turned off the device) the device goes into fastboot without problems, So after that I made a bigger asshole, by flashtool I put the device in fastboot mode and installed a TWRP kernel to see if it worked, it did not work. Now I have my device turned off and it does not turn on and only goes into fastboot. Could any kind soul help to fix my problem, or was it?
Same here op if you find a solution please tell me its been 8 hours till now and still cant find anything
all the buttons are working fine but cant power on the device or even get into flashmode.
as you said the green led flashes for a sec then reboot on and on
hope someone can solve this problem
Download an FTF from Xperia Firm make a bundle with that(everything is inside it) then flash it. When the windows pops up to connect hold volume - and connect it. It will be fine. Happened to me too. In flashtool flash screen allow it to wipe everything.

If you can access to fastboot then:
1- Flash the Boot.img from Lineage rom via fastboot using this command: fastboot flash boot boot.img
"boot.img" I assume you put the boot.img in the same dir with fastboot.
2- Flash TWRP Recovery via fastboot using this command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
I assume you put the recovery.img in the same dir with fastboot.
3- Boot into Recovery by using VOLUME UP when Sony logo comes up with pink notification light.
Link to recovery.img [url]https://mega.nz/#!iBQkgabb!B3G6dmlEMu-2xRV4w8Fl4xzRYlXSDgTeXhRtgevuT9A
