[Q] [ROM - AROMA][16 Sep]Jelly King AOKP_v.1.6.2 JB 4.1.1. power saving mode - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I can't post in the actual forum as not posted enough on XDA, so I am asking if anyone can help that has this rom or the dev etc.
Just no idea where the power saver mode has gone and I have searched the thread a few times to see if anyone else uses it and has asked about it. I checked where it is in the JellyB updates and it isn't there. It isn't where it used to be and I wanted to know whether it was included in the rom.
I was using foxhound 0.2 before that had the best application of this function where 3g/wifi would turn off when screen switched off and back on when back on etc.
I wanted to know whether this rom would be having it or does have it etc. Or if anyone knows any other AOKP JB rom with the features of Jelly King and the power saver still included (if it isn't of course in there and I am just being an idiot who can't find it)
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

[Q] SHW-M250k after upgrade to ICS Problems

Hey Nerds
No sure is it the right place to post this, apologies for that.
I upgraded my SHW-M250k to ICS couple of days ago, the rom is fast and seems stable.
below are some problems which i think are not useful for international users or non korean users.
1- Sms limit to 90 characters. for me its a big issue.
2- The dial pad korean language... i am ok with that.
3- Kies not able to recognize my phone after upgrade.
4- When the mobile goes in idle mode and on pressing any key, it takes some extra seconds to wake up.
5- The Useless apps, we have to wait till a root is possible
6- I have tried different roms on SHW-M250k, the display quality is not that great and the colors looks dim in non korean roms. I hope its not just me.
7- Samsung suck on UI part. Not a great deal changes, ICS was much hyped.
8-Kies sucks, its a junk sometime it works fine and sometimes it doesn't.
9-The smsung fota and registering a device is not working on Korean models.
10- Samsung apps and social hub and the other Samsung provided apps are not working.
11- we cant register the device and the annoying menu keeps on showing in the tile Bar.
NOt sure to continue this rom or not. still waiting for issues to be fixed and further ICS Issues.
Please reply with ur Views
Cheers

There are two ways out:
1. Convert your phone to GT I9100
2. Continue with your present firmware, then i will help you find solution to each problem.
Some of the solutions maybe, using an alternative app.
Let me know the option you prefer.

Bad data on SGS2

Hey guys, I have problem with my 3G, it is very unstable, what should I do? It is not my carrier, my friends with other phones dont have that problem...
The best solution is post in Q & A section..
Unless you do not provide ROM/Kernel/Baseband version no one can help you.
Try flashing another baseband firmware and get the corresponding Radio Interface Layer version for your Kernel.

[Q] New menu mode

Is it real to enable a new menu mode on any Galaxy SII rom? (Like on HTC One X, where on-screen menu buttons are used, and if app is outdated, device shows a black bar with menu button.)?

You can enable it in any ROM.
For stock based Roms, you will have to modify some system files yourself which might not be that easy.
For Aosp based ROMs however, there is an opinion to enable it with one click and even customise the behavior of the soft buttons

Well, I sure know, how to enable it as a permanent one (hw.keys=0, or something like this in build.prop), but as i said, i want it to show only if an app doesn't have an action bar instead of menu

I've already answered your question. What you are looking for has nothing to do with build.prop
For stock ROMs,You will need to modify framework-res.apk and probably, SystemUI.apk too.
This is a ready made option in Aosp based ROMs

[Q] How to remove Samsung Service Menu from homescreen?

Hi all!
Need some help here. Finally got the title right. Now here's my issue:
1. Different ROMs and kernels
2. Flash back stock ROM and kernels
3. Wipe everything using CWM and through the phone setting
4. Wipe cache and dalvik but not use clear data on CWM
The problem happens whenever I am flashing over stock (or anything close to stock) ICS. JB and GB roms have no problem but only ICS. So, what is wrong guys?
I am running out of ideas so please help. (p/s I did try to search here and Google but can't find an answer )
Why on earth did you create this new thread when a solution to your problem is already posted to their previous thread (which you also opened).
As a senior member, i expect you to follow the forum rules.

Do I really need a custom ROM

Looking at my phone today I started thinking That as I always stick Go Launcher on it ( I like my shortcuts in folders) and a few other GO apps. Am I really getting any benefits from a custom ROM.
Maybe a standard ROM with the GO stuff added would be just as good. Then I know they will always work.
Problem is I can't stand all the 'Samsung' crap that comes with them. Kies and their 'shops'
Maybe a cut down 'standard' ROM will work.

You can always remove those apps you don't need on an UNmodified firmware. You only need root access
