I had the same problem. You have to manually do the work that the downloader does( well did actually )
I downloaded the proper firmware(country specific) from sampro.pl/firmware/android/samsung-s5830i
SORRY I CAN'T POST LINKS YET,I JUST REGISTERED
Hope I answered your question

You think he hasn't got already a solution? He will surely not wait 1 year here to find a solution.

The USB jig may get to download mode and is worth a try as you have voided the warranty on the phone .

Well that is the effect when u can't download it from the galaxy S II thread cause of the school network banning it for malware.
If you are gonna google up a mirror make sure it's the right deal
But serious is the jig gonna help here or not

Really? So you googled "Mozilla boot to gecko on i9100" and didn't find ANYTHING?
That's funny, because when I google that phrase, the first result I got was a story on theandroidsoul.com, which actually contains a link to pulsar_g2's thread here on XDA for it.
EDIT: direct link to the XDA thread was the 4th result, interestingly. Also, did you note that this is a PRE-ALPHA? Meaning you'll be lucky if you can make a phone call with it. You should really read all of post 1 in pulsar_g2's thread before you even consider using this.

I don't suppose you actually read the development thread...? (is that expecting too much?)
I also can't help but notice you are ignoring the fact that you will likely NOT be able to use your phone as a phone after you flash this.

The how in the instructions .
it's a TAR to flash via ODIN
If you cannot manage that then i would leave it well alone until it gets to at least Alpha stage . Flashing this rom may brick your phone and will invalidate warranty .
This is NOT a daily driver. This is NOT stable. It's pre-alpha.

New qeustion old thread please answer

Okay so after much and much reachersh
I got odin to pick up my ace but the screen does not go on......
And then when I say flash it just says setting up conection and stays there
Any help???
You can try with a JIG (Dongle USB) ..if Download Mode on your Ace isn't damaged it would start in Download Mode, then Flash Firmware with Odin
It seems he was using the old version of RZ recovery which had the boot.img bug. He might not have updated to the latest fixed version.

Maby....I don't know anyway to fix it??
I think no if recovery and Download Mode don't start..
Last year i bricked my old Galaxy S..recovery doesn't starts, Download Mode doesn't starts..so i bought a JIG ..just putted it in my Galaxy S and in 3-5 seconds it autostarts in Download Mode
When i bought a second hand Galaxy Ace a few weeks ago i find my jig and i tried it on Ace, my phone automatically starts in Download Mode so it is 100% compatible with Galaxy Ace you can be sure buying it
Ok thanks from what I read online it looks like it works
So I am gonna try and make one
THANKS!
Sure..tested by me
and remember CWM recovery backups doesn't work on RZ
Dude i really dont think CWM backups work on RZ!!!
Okay okay I just thought I would try cuz I figered that nothing bad could happen that I could just reflash a new rom if the rom does not boot but...
OBVIOSLY NOT!

HAHA Yes but I'm gonna make the JIG cuz it's fun and might just work

mostly the second download mode which ace have that is arm dump mode or whatever can directly interact with insides.. if phone can enter that thing then it is recoverable by them..
i saw something similar in Galaxy R thread to recover it from hardbrick.. but no such files are there for SGA

Bricked 9100g ?

Hello all,
i've a strange problem with a galaxy s2 9100g
It was my mistake...i know that....i've flashed a ics cyanogenmod ICS on a 2.3.6 android with cwm.
And now I've a big problem with this phone....
I can't enter the download mode any more! 3 button trick doesn't work! I can only see a mobile phone a warning with a exclamation mark and a computer.
But the strange is that the windows pc is still detecting the phone as samsung mobile device. And ODIN shows a yellow device on com0.
Any Idea what I can do? How is it possible that ODIN detects the phone without download mode?
regards
MarcMarin

That mode you describe above where I bolded and underlined is a forced download mode, which is why Odin shows a connection. Just flash an i9100G firmware and you should be fine.
trying it!

I wouldn't use the .pit file unless flashing the firmware by itself didn't work first.

please see the link below for rooting ur i9100g
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587482
ps- remember one thing do not use any rom or kernel meant for I9100 to flash on ur phone(I9100g) since u may potentially brick ur phone
also u have a Q&A section meant for I9100g Here do post ur issue's there also

I don't have an i9100G, so I don't make a habit to read up on ROMs and how-to's for that model. I'd check the I9100G development sub-section if I were you.

Actually, the Q&A is meant for all the i9100 models and their sub-variants. The i9100G sub-forum is meant for development only. Read the stickies in there, there's one stating that.
