[Q] Way to edit default's in Default.xml - HTC EVO 3D

Building and theming a rom, Wondering a few things, And searching for things this deep doesn't prove too useful very often, And ya just gotta ask. I'm trying to get a first impression wow factor with my rom. Make it stand out.
I've themed quite a few icons, And i'd like to be able to have select icons, Specificly the one's themed together be in their place in the dock upon a fresh flash
I'd also like to edit the default place to be the 4x1 instead of 4x2, So it'll be something different from first look. Please help me guys!

Levels of customization

So I'm new to android, coming from the iPhone... but being apart of the dev team I was able to really take my phone to pretty sick levels of customization... thing is with the android - I know that is possible and even most customizable than the iphone...
one of the things I want to know is if theres a site to get newbies started on all things android and then...
i have a deep love for starwars and so does the girlfriend, and I was wondering if the R2D2 Droid2 wallpapers/sounds/skins/bootup were available to be tweaked onto this phone...
can anyone enlighten me on all this?

Android (on it's own) does not have a way for a user to theme their phone. However... if you put an alternative launcher (ADW or LauncherPro are very popular) you can download themes from the market (including R2D2 I would imagine). ADW also includes a theme template that you can modify to fit your needs (perhaps with pngs from Droid2). This is not as deep as HTC themes, this is only for your homescreen and app drawer. Anything deeper requires full permanent root.
Both launchers will support icon packs as well
As far as sounds, make a folder on your sd card and name it Ringtones. Your phone will pick them up as regular ringtones as soon as you reboot it. I usually make it this wasy
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
/sdcard/media/audio/alarms
/sdcard/media/audio/ui
/sdcard/media/wallpapers
It may help to put a blank txt file in each audio folder and name it .nomedia to make sure that your music player doesn't pick them up as valid music files.
Hope that answers your questions

So, what would it take, mod wise, to enhance the new Lockscreen, WidgetLocker style?

I'm guessing there is a way to extract it from the standard ROM and use some kind of template or program to add an extra row of icons, maybe even add widget support.
Would like to know step 1, and from there, I'd do most of the work and research after.
I have glanced over the old WidgetLocker theming thread...but haven't really noticed whether you can duplicate much from Sense 3.0 lockscreen, outside of the slide up ring.
Thanks for any suggestions, flames, comments, criticism. If its a bad idea, its a bad idea...just curious and wanna know.

[Q] ADW Themers, help, I can't change some icons

Hi, Im making a theme for adw launcher, and im making icons for all my apps to match the theme.
I followed this guide to make themes and everything went good until I got some erros compiling the apk in eclipse... but thats another question for another time.
In the time being, I edited a current theme, adding my icons, and resigning the apk just to test it, but the thing is, there are, until now, 2 icons which dont change at all.
I followed the guide and retrieved the names correctly, one of those apps its on the droid icon database and even with that name, the icon dont change.
Anyone with experience with ADW and the tools, could help me to determine the correct names for the apps?
The apps are these two:
Perfect Viewer
osu!droid
Thanks in advance.
BTW im using a rom based in 2.3.6, maybe the names change between version.

settings/system theming

Haven't been able to find much info on this, especially info pertaining to sense 5 based roms. I'm looking to ideally restore the holo/nexus style settings/system menu. I like the look and layout much better than the sense 5 rendition. At the very least I would like to find a way to set the background color to the holo gradient or black as the white is very overbearing. I've found threads on this but they all require decompiling the settings apk which seems like quite a hassle to not even get the results I'm looking for. Is there anyway to replace the entire settings apk with the one from the GPE one? Or am I hoping for too much? I'm sure a lot of problems would arise from this but I, one of the few it seems, really like the sense 5 layout (esp blinkfeed) and after replacing most of the standard HTC apps with ports/3rd party alternatives I've been able to get much of the holo theme back, I'm just unable to do that with the settings/system and it irks me. Anyway, I'm rooted running trickdroid 10.0 (11.0 didn't play nicely with my phone), any help would be appreciated. This is my first post but I've been in the shadows for awhile, this is the first time in a year of using xda that I wasn't able to find an answer which is a testament to what a great community this place is! Thanks in advance

[Q] Android Default Icons Zip

I'd really like to make a unique Icon Pack, but downloading the original icons to theme is a pain! As of now, I'm simply going to the app page in google play and saving the icons. Is there a zip with a lot of the original icons (preferably 300x300) already out there? If not, is anyone willing to collect a bunch of the icons from apps they typically use and upload it here? I'd like to cover lots of icons so the more I get the better it will be. And it will be free!
Edit: In case this does become something, here is a folder with all the default icons I currently have saved. Hopefully it will save someone the trouble of finding it all over again.
