TouchWiz????? - HTC Amaze 4G

Is there anyway to get a touchwiz rom on our amaze?

I dont even want to reply but check in the android dev section for a second.and then open your eyes and then look at the page. There is a rom made by EclipzeRemix that uses Touchwiz and is based off of his Speedrom 7.7 beta, its called RubyUIX. This is a funny question...... =)

It's themed with Touchwiz but its not really true Touchwiz

I don't think it would be too hard to get actual touchwiz on this device... Samsung bases there touchwiz on stock kernel (so no edits needed) and the tmo s2 has a similar enough processor for it to work

Na, the s3 on the S2 I heard is almost completely different from the regular S3 people couldn't even port from other Samsung devices with ease because of this although they did manage

Haven't heard anything on the Sense 3.0 UI for SGS2 this will be really amazing if someone can port it. It is really awesome UI.

Yep, a Sense UI 3.0 Port would be the most badass thing. Sense UI is probably the best Android UI around, and on the SGS2, it would run kickass.
Agree, would be really nice to see it for SGS2
This should be posted in the Q&A section not here.
Also, AFAIK there will never be a Sense rom for the SGS 2, as Sense is not open source. If you want sense you'll need to buy an HTC phone first.

+1 on that
If You did not create the ROM, KERNEL, FIX, MOD, APP, HACK, GUIDE, or if it's not a SOURCE CODE then it should go to Galaxy S II General as it doesn't belong in Development
If your thread can be phrased as a question, it DEFINITELY doesn't belong in Development either.

Not true...
They said it about the sgs 1 ...hey I've even seen honeycomb from the tablet on the sgs 1 ..
I have a feeling it will pop up on the forums one day ... I know the dev's...maybe when its complete on the sgs 1 they may think about it...
I'd say sense will come to the sgs 2 someday though

It's already difficult to have CM7 and MIUI running on SGS2 so porting the most difficult framework to be ported right now is a dream!
Regretfully only the Sense devs can do it but they still stick to Sensation, somebody have to turn them into the sammy side of the force
i tested it on a htc sensation it is nice to have but not nessasary or not?
I simply love the weather part of Sense 3.0 in the lockscreen, animations with sound and widget!
An app could do it but still didn't find one, Go Weather is using the same animations but without sound and the launching logo is crap, if only they could repair these...

you thought they wouldnt infect it with touchwiz? lol where have you been
(assuming this is true) as much a visual difference is slightly disappointing, a guts upgrade to ICS is really what matters most. I'll take a normal UI that operates faster than a fancy UI any day.
I like how the one ****ty leaked Rom that was posted gives them the basis to write this article.
Correction, no ICS interface for non-rooted stock phones.

personally, I dont care too much for a couple of reasons. 1. I actually liked Touchwiz (at least 4.0+) and 2. I wasn't going to be running stock anyway, so if I really need that ICS interface, CM9 will 90% sure be on our phones. And, at least we're (by that I mean the Galaxy S 2) getting the update. Look at the Captivate for example
Most of us won't bother with stock samsung UI so it won't matter. CM9/MIUI V4 is in my future.
Non-issue article. Move along.
Touchwiz 4.0 on Android 2.3: Looks great!
Touchwiz 4.0 on Android 4.0: Dear god that looks ugly.
Since when did people start believing that if we got ICS that it was going to AOSP? We didn't get AOSP gingerbread.....its why all firmware releases are delayed. It gives manufacturers time to put on their UI......not to mention AOSP ICS is the corniest looking POS I have ever seen......the icons are way oversized.....the corny folder crap we have had on GO for a year. I am so glad to see TW covering up that abomination. Give me the guts to optimize my dual core and get the rest the hell outa here.

No its getting a custom touchwiz ics launcher. Here is the emulator for the galaxy s2

I disagree, touchwiz covers up the best parts about ICS, it went well with touchwiz 4 on gingerbread because it looks better than stock gingerbread. Stock ICS IMO is way ahead of anything else on the market
The article is referring to the leaked roms on the I9100 there is still time for Samsung to wrap ICS up in a newer/revamped TW UI.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Kind of disappointing but cm9 will fix that quite nicely. Not to say I'm at all surprised.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
I actually dont care either way the looks can be changed easily for both rooted and non rooted people. Honestly after having ICS'd out on my phone for a daily driver for a good while I switched to MIUI because the color combo of ICS gets old quick
doesnt bother me, i love touchwiz and i just wanted ICS underhood features... this is GREAT news for me... looks perfect, i would miss it if it was removed... i dont think ICS looks all that amazing IMO
I'm positive we'll get a good version of ICS whether it be official or from a DEV what difference does it really make?
not much it will be here within the next three months either way

Sense on Galaxy s3?

Hi,I like so much Galaxy S3,but for mt HTC sense is the best UI for smartphone!
There is some possibility that GS3 will have a porting of the HTC sense?
[fortune-telling ball]
maybe, someday
[/fortune-telling ball]
and so it begins
inb4 buy One X
...
If you want sense buy a one X
Once I get my Sense Note ported It might be able to be ported from Note --> S3.

But even if you can get it ported to the Note (actually your "friend's" do this), you have to start from the beginning here as it's another hardware. ->processor

Simple: Sense 4 wins over TW. But, removable battery and sdcard slot win over the one x's non removable battery and no slot.
If sense can be ported, it'd be win win..since you cant exactly mod a onex to have the battery + sdcard capabilities.
I'm using sense right now and its terrible compared to touchwiz. Just more give it a little time it will grow on you and it will be way more functional than sense.

It's called personal preference....he prefers the hardware of the Samsung but the UI of Sense. Why does everyone always question why the next man wants or does something? The fact that can even do this kind of stuff is awesome, embrace it. Could have an iPhone and be stuck with nothing more than themes.

Ok gs1? That is crap touchwiz and so old, can't believe you even mentioned that here. Now its so much better. Do you even have the sgs3 or just trolling here?
Even sense was crap to start with and every iteration it improves. In my opinion touchwiz is much smoother. Ok i will give the weather widget to sense.

Not trolling mate. Stating facts...
GS1.
GS2.
And now requests on GS3.
I do have a GS3. It's being used by one of my employees.
But I use my HOX for personal use.
I'm loving sense 4 and fortunately my unit is fault free.
And I agree. Weather and sense flip clock widget are nice.

That would be nice and I'm sure a lot of people are waiting for that.
Tbh I think a good clean aosp build would be better, the Samsung firmware right now is based on IMM76D, aosp is on IMM76L and contains some of the linaro optimisations and we could do with that. Its the latest code available.
Sense would be nice but a nice clean unbloated aosp rom would be my main priority.
Sense= bloated but nice theme/colors
Like it more then aosp, doubt sense would run good but I would try it just for fun

I would like to se Sense on the S3 to.
I always had HTC Phones before and this year I bought the S3, my first Samsung.
The first thing I noted with Touchwiz was, that I can´t make Shortcuts to
Direct Dial, Direct Message, etc.
That was so easy with my Sense 3,5.
Maybe I just dont know how to use Touchwis.. But I prefer Sense.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus OR Galaxy S 3?

Hello. I will soon be leaving sprint for verizon and was wondering if I should get the galaxy nexus or the galaxy s 3. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!
Of course go for the s3 the galaxy nexus is nowhere near the s3 in hardware specs and camera and the galaxy nexus only excels in software and in support it uses vanilla android and it already has jellybean but u are a member at xda and u can always search for guides to flash stock vanilla android on s3 i say go for s3

Which would be better for frequently flashing roms and which would head further in development of roms? I understand the galaxy s 3 has a locked bootloader, but will that stop people from developing? Also, when the galaxy s 4 comes out, will EVERYONE stop on the s 3 and go straight for the s 4? I feel like the nexus would keep going. One more thing, what's vanilla android?

How long before you leave? I would try to wait until the next nexus comes out (this is when I plan on getting a new phone).
Google realeases android and every company like htc samsung motorola and sony put their own skins on then like htc has htc sense , samsung has touchwiz , sony has timescape ! The stock vanilla android doesnt have any skin its the original android and the original android is always faster . As for developing and roms i would say go for the galaxy nexus cz its google's flagship device and will always be supported , the galaxy s3 will be supported too and it has more processing power the quad core exynos is the fastest cpu on android phones and the overclocked edition of mali 400 is so fast , but if u are interested in support and roms go for nexus ! What the heck they even ported CM10 jellybean to the outdated nexus one Hit the thanks button if i helped and let me know ur choice

Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
I wouldn't call it "kick rocks".
I am a previous Evo 4G LTE owner, and current Note II owner. And I found that TouchWiz tends to stay out of the way more than Sense ever did. And as much as I like AOSP, I found that TouchWiz is actually very functional and useful without being too much "in your face".
I can, however, see where Steve is coming from. AOSP on Note II is missing features that only work with Samsung's framework. And to a CM developer, that can be frustrating.
