Looking for xperia lookalike weather widget for CM7, any suggestions? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
Some time ago i tried one of those xperia roms, but i've changed back to cm7 for my Desire. One thing that i noticed is that the xperia roms probably have the coolest weather widget i've seen to date.
But i have not been able to find any universal weather widget that comes close to the simplicity and coolness of the xperia weather widget.
Firstly, the widget is very simple and mimialistic, doesn't contain a clock which is perfect, as there already is a clock in the statusbar, don't really need a second clock to verify the first one is correct.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The widget is animated, which means the weather in the widget is moving, but only on the widget and not the whole screen, so it's not interfering with UI usage.
When you click it, it does an animated unfold into this. Showing a clean and simple forecast.
Click it again and it'll take you to accuweather showing an hour for hour forecast. Clicking outside the widget folds the widget back into it's starting position.
Now you know what the widget is and is able to do.
I am trying to get this, or something like this which works outside the xperia launcher.
I have tried a lot of different widgets, but nothing compares to the simplcity, design and ease of use.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers
fusk

This is really cool.
I dont know about animated widgets, but i like the HD Widgets the most. Can be found in the market.
I will follow this thread, would be interesting to find the real deal..

Yes, would be awesome. But sadly i don't have the skills to do anything about it myself. Hoping for someone to budge in and help.

The original HTC clock including the weather would be awesome.
Nice to see the thunder animation....
but now on jellytime i use fancywidgets.... good enough for time and wheater..

Can't get HTC Clock ed Animation to work

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could help me get the 3d flip animation to work on my Hero clocks. I have checked out every preview on youtube and seems like Hero does have the feature especially when you unlock the screen.
My device does not do that for some reason and I've tried to switch from one rom to another and still can't get it to work.
I would appreciate if someone could enlighten me as I really love this phone and have been showing it off infront of my iPhone owning friends
Thanks to all in advance
ciao
its been removed on the rom update cuz it takes up too much resources

IMHO, it never did take up too many resources, or was a specific performance issue. It was just that some people saw it as one.
It was just that the clock widget didn't update when the phone was sleeping or otherwise occupied. It *still* doesn't either - I often wake my phone from sleeping and see my clock is some hours in the past until it changes to a new time. It just does switches "instantly", rather than running an animation now.
Regards,
Dave
Ok, so if I wanna see it again I have to roll back to the initial ROM and suffer with the lagginess. No good news
Thank you guys for your feed back.

Animating Flip Clock Widget
I have a clock widget with a real animating flip, which does not require sense. Check my thread.

how does Beautiful widgets function now? ive always found it a lil buggy in the past.
Ye its OK i like it better as the weather seems to be right all the time, The clouds stutter a bit but will wait and see what its like on 2.2.
Fancy is good and Weather & toggle widget, I guess its just what you prefer
Thanks. How can HTC ban fancy, but not Beautifull they look almost identical?

Beautiful got pulled and put back. I think all they had to do was move the weather off center and change the style of the clock to get back in. I would expect fancy to get back in by doing something similar.
I'd also appreciate if someone can post me the link for fancy widget.
Thanks.
You should try weather widgets2. It gives both the flip clock and weather, with background transparency. It also updates/refreshes immediately on startup! (unlike fancy widget, which sometimes doesn't).
I couldn't find weather widgets 2 on the market.
where can I get it ?
now that you ask i find i don't recall I do know it was recommended (as shareware) from some android site, but which one?!
i searched for fancy widget and nothing came up, so google brought me to this link which had this qr code:
{

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Scanned it on my streak with Barcode Scanner and voila!
thanks for the "fancy widget"
isthere any link to download the other recommended "weather widgets 2" ?
I found beautiful widgets on Mobilism.
This one seems way too better.
clock/
only shows weather.. how do i get the clock with the weather?

People and Battery^^
I would really like a scrollable people widget like the android one. I know that the freelinks cover the most of it, but nevertheless a widget like this would be very eyecandy and handy, when you dont want to have all your contacts somewhere on an page. Would be very nice if someone would be able to develop this for winmo, even though it might be very hard to accomplish^^
Ah and before I forget it, a battery widget might be an idea, too. For example showing how long your battery will last in hours, how long in wifi etc.
Hope that something like this is possible
All-In-One-Widget -> Time, Date, Weather and Alarm ?!

If you use adw ex you can choose no icons in the ui main dock settings , put icons on the hidden dock so you can at least open your app launcher .when you remove the icons from the main dock ,you can then place widgets where the icons would have been. then use desktop visualizer icons/widgets to completely cover the home screen. Then put the "regular" icons on the hidden dock you can swype them up/down ,they will appear over the desktop visualizer icons ,and will work.( incase you dont want the empty looking dock option )you could put your launcher and like for or five icons there (on the hidden dock), the only problem I'm having is finding images that will look good as desktop visualizer icons

Tablet-Style Scroll Outlines?

I can't seem to find a good screenshot of it (and the only person I know with a tablet's sleeping, so I'll post one tomorrow if I get the chance), but in Honeycomb and the tablet version of ICS, when you scroll on your current home screen to another screen you can see light-blue glowy outlines for the icons on the screen you're scrolling to.
Is it possible to replicate that effect in ICS for a phone? Would that have to be something done at the homescreen level, or something deeper? The Android tablets always had my attention with this effect.
Thankies! =]
Apex launcher, free in market, lets you have that animation. It is like ICS stock launcher with a lot more options. Choose trasition effect as tablet from Apex home screen settings.
I know exactly what you are talking about. I suggest you maybe contact the APEX launcher guys (Android Does) and see if that is even possible. I like it too and think it would be cool on the phone level.
Wow, you guys replied quickly... Thank you both. =D

It sort of does; it has the outline of the homescreen that moves around, which looks kinda' cool. However, it's still missing the part where the icons and widgets get that same outline treatment and then as they move in, slowly become visible.

Will do; I just wish Apex Launcher would let me move my homescreens around when I'm in the preview mode. xD It's the one thing I preferred Nova Launcher for, but Apex has improved lots since when I first used it (when it first came out).
