HTC One X+ vs One XL+ ? - HTC One X+

According to phonearena.com, One XL+ indeed has the same spec as One X+ except the Qualcomm MSM 8925M LTE module is built in with Tegra3.
So I want to ask, can ROM of One X+ be dumped to One XL+ flawlessly? If not, can the moderator create one more forum for HTC One XL+?

Based on what I can see on these two links, it looks like you're up the right alley. I can't spot a difference other than that chip and memory size. Everything looks the same save for some hardware differences (colour and mass) but that's irrelevant to porting.
I'd say give it a whirl
EDIT: keep in mind, one is an nVidia chipset, the other is Qualcomm. (I think) You probably just have to do some gypsy magic in order to get them working. It would be like porting a One XL rom to an One S, but having the same features and display I guess.
EDIT 2: I miss read the OP and looked up One XL, not One XL+. I'm a goof, move along, these aren't the droids you're looking for

Might be that the only difference between the two is the radio/RIL.

Hopefully it would just be a matter of loosing cellular connection and fix might just be a simple .zip to flash with the right radio files/framework.
That would be just short of universal roms... Unless the creator of the rom uses the installer to give the user the option of HSPA+ or LTE.

I believe that the Qualcomm radio is additional with the original radio in the One X+. So, i guess it would work, but without LTE capabilities.

No, the MDM radio would replace the Intel XMM baseband for LTE models.

[Q] sense 5

So what's the deal, are we getting jb. 4.2 and sense 5 or what?
No, because you asked
Seriously, no one knows but HTC
And if we were to get sense 5, I more than likely will stay on sense 4+ since its much better

Haha I personally do not like sense 4(+) much at all. I think sense 5 will bring a much needed aesthetic upgrade. We'll just have to see about the function as well. Out of curiosity, what leads you to think sense 5 will be a failure? I'm just wondering if you know something that I may have missed.

It's very rare that HTC device get updated versions of Sense with newer firmware. But it does happen. All you can do is wait and find out......
I dont like sense 4 ... anyway it will be ported from Buttefly or M7 as the image leaks...thats the worst case just we have to wait

Porting it from the butterfly will be a pain, since the resolution is higher.
I've played around with it and its a pain to try and mess around with those pesky m10 files

I'm sure sense 5 will have more to it than the one screenshot that we've all seen. Would be very disappointing if the HOX+ doesn't get it. There's too much pessimism and not enough helpfulness on these forums lately, so I'm better off waiting silently I guess.

Maybe because sony doesn't use the m10 code since that's specific to HTC
Give it a shot, we will need the images from a phone with the same resolution or edit the code so it shrinks the images the right size, and we will need the software from a phone with a similar processor.

It's alot easer to port roms from one sony device to another. Sony favours using the same framework for all devices in the same generation. So the Xperia Z framework prob would of already contained the high res images.

Most probably not, only Buterfly and DNA will get the official upgrade as they have 2G Ram. Sense 5 will be officially out once M7 / Htc One is out which will be true very very soon, targeted for March/april !
Then will it be easy to port those to the OneX+, that should be feasible even if the resolution is not the same.
I hope we'll get Sense 5 because it looks very nice (I've seen some images).
If HTC doesn't release Sense 5 on older devices I'm definitly going to put a rom on my One X+.
well, this is a bit disappointing, it will make me wonder if I am going to remain loyal to HTC or not. I guess I'll just wait and see the news over the next couple of weeks.
We should see more of sense 5 today I believe!
OK, NOW I truly want sense 5, with all of what comes with it.. guess I'll ask my service provider if they do trade ins..

[Q] Possibly a stupid question...

Hi, long time browser here.
I've just flashed a One X with the IceColdJelly rom and I was wondering if it's compatable with the One X+?
I know it may be a stupid question, but from what I've read there doesn't seem to be much difference except the clock speed and bigger battery. I'm just wondering if it'll work because Sensation XE roms work on the normal Sensation and vice versa.
This is the rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796340

Moderator Update.
Short answer is no. You cant flash a One X rom on an X+ device. Also I have clsoed this thread to stop it becomming a device comparison thread.

(clarification) All HTC One Models

As the title states this is a clarification for people that either don't know or are confused. All HTC one models are the same across the board hence you can flash international roms.at&t,tmobile, and sprint users can flash international roms without any problems.
I have an at&t version and been flashing international roms on it.I am currently on android revolution he Rom latest build on 4.2.2 that just came out and man this thing is blazing fast! You think it was fast before..load 4.2.2 with sense 5 and this thing fly's smooth!
So to clear the air yes it is okay to flash international roms.again if your still a tad bit scared ateast check and read the entire thread to stay on the safe side
Happy flashing
This is why I don't regret going with HTC instead of Samsung. I've always hated that international and US variants were different in hardware for most Samsungs. HTC one is a real winner and believe they will make a comeback in time.

Hmmm.... All SGS4s that use the S600 qualcomm chipsets can flash each others ROMs, so this is a slight misconception.
i9505 and all its variants can share roms. About 70% or more of the SGS4s in the world are a variation of this edition including the future GE coming out.
i9500 is stuck in its own community. This is the one you are referring to and it is a small community that seems to be minimizing.

Hmmmmmmm...different processors for S4 variants, the Snapdragon 600 and the Exynos. Where as the HTC one ONLY has the Snapdragon 600 for all variants. We can flash international ROMS on our AT&T model. Try flashing a S4 (Exynos based)Rom on a S4 that has the Snapdragon 600 processor. Obviously you didn't read my first post correctly as I said that I disliked how Samsung tends to make phones with different processors for one phone i.e (Galaxy Note, S2, S3, S4) which had different processors between the international and US models.
I believe it had to do with Samsung's Exynos LTE capabilities in the US.

Yes I did read your post, but you made it seem like roms aren't interchangeable at all. My point is that there is a international S600, i9505, and its variations make up about 75% of all the SGS4s in the whole world. For example, the US T-Mobile SGS4 can flash roms from the International i9505.
Sure, it can't flash from the i9500, but the development mostly lies in the i9505 and it's variants anyways.

Well I just flashed an i9505 international rom onto my ATT S4, all the US Carrier Variants are the same as the i9505, the i9500 is the only difference and thats the exynos cpu, and as stated most variants out right now are the i9505 including the upcoming GE, that said all the One Variants contain the same chipset, so that does make things less confusing.
Sprint users can't flash any ROM actually. Only certain ROMs are compatible.
Please edit your OP with this information as it's currently misleading to others

You seem to be forgetting the fact that the Att and Verizon (I think verizon) have the bootloader locked with no current solution to unlock which has made it super difficult for devs to make solutions for rooting them and there's barely any development going on for those two either. HTC on the other hand has a incredible community full of development and amazing devs (not saying the s4 doesn't, but ours seems more so) and a lot of people (myself included) don't even bother with root because HTC did such an incredible jib with the one and sense 5.

That is true but shabby penguin has a modded cwm recovery that allows you to flash any rom from tmobile, sprint, Verizon, or the international i9505 version. Development is fine over there. I have the best of both worlds with the one and the S4. Lol

[Q] Port of HTC One X ROMs on HTC One X+

Hello,
silly question but I will try. How is it with the compatibility of HTC One X roms with HTC One X+ hw? I know it is different HW so it will definitely not work. But how hard is to do some port of HOX rom for HOX+? I see lots of cool looking roms for X but X+ is still having lack of development in here. I really want to see latest MIUI, CM10.1 RC3 etc. on my phone
Thank you.

I would like to help out. That is the reason why I am asking about how hard is to port HOX rom to HOX+ rom. I saw some tutorial on the Android Development general thread so I can give it a try.
