[Q] Software Break after installing wrong JellyBam ROM - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All ,
this is my first time to flash a custom ROM .
yesterday i flashed a JeallyBam ( JellyBam.AOKP.20121005-DAILY-i9100G ) .
i have an international samsung i9100 .
as you have now figured , i have flashed the wrong rom for my mobile ( the rom is for i9100g , while my mobile is i9100 ) .
after flashing , and the mobile reboots , i canot pass the Samsung Galaxy S II (with yellow triangle) screen and for some reason i can not load into recovery anymore! loading to download mode works fine.
after researching , i know that the yellow triangle icon is for the ClockWorkMod .
so , i thought if i change that kernel , it may be fine .
i have then installed Siyah kernel v4.1.5 , but i can not also go to recovery mode .
when installing stock samsung rom ( 4.0.3 or even 4.0.4 ) the operation hang on writing FACTORYFS.img file , and it eventually fails with red icon in ODIN 1.85 .
last trial is to install stock kernel for 4.0.4 ( http://hotfile.com/dl/165094518/319d54b/KERNEL_XWLPT.tar.html )
found from this post :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487
and i then tried to install the I9100XWLPX officail stock samsung rom , but with the same results .
all i can do with my mobile now is to go to download mode , and sometime i can go to recovery mode .
the issue is now i can not write any ROM into the phone , even the stock one .
please help me into restoring my phone to a working state .

So if you can go to recovery do full wipe. Or try to format everything but you lost data. And then install stock Rom

I9100_CODE_I9100XXLPH_CL118559_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 ==> used in PDA button
MODEM_I9100XXLPH_REV_02_CL1104396.tar.md5 ==> used in phone button

it seems the issue was with the USB port in the PC .
i now have flashed a stock 4.0.4 into the mobile successfully .
thanks you so much for your support so far .
but the goal which have bring me here is not achieved yet , install jellybam on my S2 .
do you know where to download this ROM in Odin format , instead of this hassle of installing the ROM using Clockworkmod ??

You are definitely going to use CWM recovery.
Stop blaming CWM recovery!.CWM recovery was not the reason why you flashed GT I9100G ROM. blame yourself for that and you should count yourself lucky for still having a usable device.
First flash a custom kernel, Siyah or Speedmod via odin.

Now its working
thanks for your recommendation of installin siyah kernel .
Now i'm running SGS2-Intact-AOSP successfully on my Sii .
but the big issue for me now , is Facebook sync , it is not available

I don't think so.
I think The Facebook patched only existed on some ICS AOKP ROMs. The patch is also not kernel related.
On JB ROMs, you have to rely on third-party Facebook apps for sync.

how do i flash stock rom with odin ?
sorry .. but just dont wrily know...
Have a look at this thread to find a rom which matches your country/carrier. There is a guide to using Odin in that thread as well. If the download links don't work, write down the name of the stock rom you want to use & search for it on Samfirmware.com & download it there.
it says near my packege
"This is still BETA firmware so don't moan if everything doesn't work. It comes with old bootloader and is non-wipe"
is it still ok to go with it ??
Which package ?
XXLPJ
and agin thanks for helpin...
That's Ok I recommend you go back to stock Gingerbread, and then have another go at ICS. XXLPJ is stock ICS, you can use it, but as the warning says, it is a beta.
I'd use a GB stock rom for your country/carrier if were in your situation.
i dont understand
what is stock Gingerbread ??
an what is GB stock ??
my carrier is orange, israel ....
which package in the guide should i use ??
GB & GingerBread are one in the same.
Choose Israel Orange stock from from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14505996&postcount=3

Glad you got it sorted
When flashing other roms or kernels, follow the instructions for flashing that rom or kernel to the letter & you shouldn't have problems.
Most custom kernels (all ?) are rooted, so you don't have to root again after installing them. And most custom kernels are flashable via CWM, tho many do have Odin flashable versions. My advice would be to stick to CWM flashable versions as this is the simplest way to flash a rom or kernel.
thanks agin...
thats what is used before

leaked official 4.1.2 ????
just go sammobile website search and download for your country if you want
else flash any country version also okay
Just use kies, it's safer and easier...
About how much percent ODIN can fail in flashing rom to s3? Still didnt receive updates on KIES so i want to flash it via ODIN. Also how many time ddoes it take for ODIN to complete flashing??
Get the galaxy s3 toolkit. It includes odin and a copy of the stock recovery you can flash.
Flashing the recover with odin takes under a minute. Flashing a complete rom with odin takes about 5 minutes maximum.

0% fail if you follow the instruction
just need samsung kies (you need the usb driver, not kies because install samsung kies will automatically install the driver also)
and odin and the ROM (in .tar or .tarmd5, depends, confirm is end with .tar and put in pda
and take less than 10 minutes
flashed my s3 via mobile ODIN pro and it worked like a charm.....
Finally flashed my phone, but with mobile ODIN pro. My question is how to get the 4.2 camera on jelly bean 4.1.2 XXELKC. ? Thanx for all your help guys. ..
Flash a custom rom with the mod .
See Android Development Omega rom for one .
Or find the files and push them yourself to the custom rom .
Have a look in Themes and apps and see if its also posted as a standalone mod .

It depends upon the instructions for that rom you need to read them .
But CWM recovery flash is the norm for most custom roms .

Stock Recovery
If you just want the Stock Recovery for example for OTA, just flash the stockrecovery.tar via ODIN. Even I don't like using ODIN too much, but it's a million times better than Kies and easy to use. I personally recommend using ODIN on the PC if possible and avoid Mobile Odin. Mobile Odin is only if you don't have a PC or really need to do something on the go. It's a great app but don't use it all the time. And I'm not sure about this but I think by just flashing the Recovery you won't loose root nor Data, so you save a lot of time!
Only crappy thing with Odin is that it needs TAR and I don't know how to make those excpet with Toolbox. Does anybody know an easy way to make a flashable tar on windows without toolbox or cygwin (linux).

I've read about the "flashing mega bass beat option to s3" and it says

The question is: what will happen if I didn't wipe the dalvik cache?
Do I really need to wipe it?

[HOW-TO] Come back from JB to GB

Welcome . New thread with tutorial how to come back from JB to GB .
First you need Odin to flash your phone . If you're here you propably have got one . I recomend 3.04 or higher or 1.86 version .
1.Connect your phone to PC with Odin Flash Mode (home+ volume down + power during start )
2.In the Odin select PIT , CSC , PDA Files from pack :
http://disk.yandex.com/public/?hash=CXISs198rZIJtpzWXood+waVEXcxGbW4T1iWMkicox0=
http://d-h.st/AZN
It's only one rom with all working files i found in the internet .
It's Rom for Russia (SEB) and will change your region code .
3. Flash
4.Welcome on GB again . For sure to the time of full release of JB .
PIT File only :
https://www.box.com/s/1e4su0r4h3n0xl5ae8r7
(You can try to flash one file rom . It's can work . Maybe . But more safe metod is using full SEB Rom )
FIRST YOU NEED TO FLASH USING SEB ROM IN POST , THEN ANY GB YOU WANT !
Q and A
1.Did I can flash any GB ROM using one file rom and the added PIT File ?
A:No , you can't . First you need reflash your phone using russian 3 file rom , after this you can do everything you want .
2. It's working ?
If you know what is Odin , how to flash and doing everything like in this how to , for sure this is working .
It contains CSPA, EFS, UMS.
What for ?
Is full GB firmware applicable?

It's for sure working . Because this rescue , me after JB flash . If you will install first this Russia ROM then you can flash Rom for your localization without problems
Using the above linked PIT together with a firmware for Europe (so starting with XX...; exactly the XXLL2) didn't bring me back to GB. Flashing worked fine, but afterwards the device had a bootloop (stopped at Samsung's logo) and booting into <3e> (Samsung's recovery OS) wasn't possible.
So I'll try with the "russian" firmware now.
how is this different form previous stock versions?
Hi friends,
Is there something you changed in the PIT files for this?
What will happen if I have JB and I take a stock UK LL2 f/w from samfirmware and flash it?
thanks in advance...

@jeev_one
If I'm not mistaken, the pit file is the same for the entire Europe.
The problem is UK rom which does not contains all files needed.
Only Russia ROM contains all files needed to downgrade to GB.

The Problem isn't PIT File . It's universial for GB Roms . Problem is that you need to use 2 file ROM . Only one I found in the internet is this from Russia . Faster way is to install SEK Rom from first post . Then Reflash UK Rom and change Regional Code using *#272*IMEI# .

There is no other way than odin or mobil odin , if you are on a custom rom it maybe rooted already so try installing mobile odin and flash with it.
Link for mobile odin : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
EDIT : I forgot to add try uninstalling Kies and samsung USB drivers then install this drivers.rar it should work .

I usually find stock roms use more battery as custom roms sometimes have a lot of bloatware removed which would run in the background and consume ram, cpu time and could wake the device from deep sleep.
Ps: Fygaroo post that helped you would look even better by pressing thanks on it.
