Best camera settings for HTC Mozart - 7 Mozart General

As you might have seen that HTC Mozart has tendency to take underexposed pics, especially on a sunny day. After I installed WP7.8 ROM, I got settings like ISO, exposure value etc on my Mozart. Can someone please suggest me best values of each of the settings so that my Mozart can take good pics on a bright sunny day which isn't underexposed? Thanks in advance :cyclops:

Hi++
Exactly ,I don't Believe in this things (honey,to tell the truth it just about your taste of photographing ) But here is one of my pictures in a sunny day ++ (settings ) :fingers-crossed: !!
Good Luck !

Amaaazing!!
Now I learn that my mistake had been setting exposure vaule to a positive value instead of negative one. I took a pic with new settings, applied auto-fix on phone. It came out like this-
Then, on Picasa, I did the following things-
1. Auto contrast
2. Boost by 1/4th strength
3. Cross process 66%
And result is-
I see one huge difference. Your pic has far much better colors. Did you do any post processing in Photoshop? If yes then please share tips for the same too. Thanks in advance :cyclops:

Mozarts Camera (best settings)

Alright everybody,
I have had the mozart now for a few weeks and everything is outstanding on it, it's pretty far removed from WM6.5.
The only problem i'm having is the camera just seems to shoot a little blurry, I know some of the pics are me not quite keeping still, I was just wondering what settings it should be on for a good picture.
Thanks
Graham
Hi,
I've not changed any of settings and am getting pretty good results (when I remember to wait for the 2nd flash that is!).
Will have a play about with the settings over the weekend and post if I find anything interesting.
I'm currently thinking about getting a 7 Mozart myself and was wondering how the camera performs.
Could you please take some pictures and post them here?
Thank you very much in advance.

I'd say that's a superb quality for a mobile camera
Could you please post some pictures (preferably in bad lighting condition too) of the camera, too?
Thank you for your work

How does the Mozart camera compare to the Omnia 7? I am considering either this for the camera or the Omnia for the S-Amoled.
I'm experience the blurred image as well and I did not change the setting either.
Just wonder how to take close ups with this camera e.g. when i take photos of a book the words are not readable, blurred???
EDIT: Wrong thread !
Anyway, I'm having the same issue with "blurry" pictures. Even my N900's 5Mpix camera is performing better... *Sigh*

This might sound a bit odd, but u know the button on the side to press to actually take the pic? .. Hold it in for about 5/6 secs and it seems to zoom in and crisp the focus ... then click to take a pic.

Have you tried Macro mode? Works well for me.
I've not had any problems with blurry pictures.....unless I move after focus has locked. Unfortunately there's no Microsoft update coming for me being bad at keeping still!
Ok, we need to press the camera button for a while until it adjusts the focus, then close ups can be taken and once focus is locked then there is no blurr and images are just excellent. thank dov74.
any thing i'm missing in settings about macro mode? not sure where it is.

No Problem.
Macro mode is under camera/settings/scenes then it's the last option. I've not taken any proper photos with it but I've messed about with it and have gotten good results.
From memory, another member on here uploaded a picture taken in Macro mode - will have a look and see if I can find.

Screen color profile : V3 just added (see !![EDIT3]!!)

Hi all,
Well ... I waste some hours trying to make a color profile of our phone screen and ... I did it ! I can say it wasn't easy ...
I was bored to make stuff in photoshop and have a different result on the phone screen, then go back to PS, then push again, PS again ....
Attached files:
-Graphic which shows that the screen color space is smaller than sRGB & Adobe98. We also have a low contrast ratio of 350.
-The color profile that you have to put in C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color
-Photoshop screenshot to enable the profile
--> When you make images modd in PS for your phone (don't forget to disable it when you work with normal pictures !), choose : menu>Display>Work format (I don't have the UI in english so I don't know the real name --> look at the screenshot), then choose the profile and tick "Keep RGB numbers".
You're now able to modd images that will appear like on the phone (not perfect but acceptable). If you load a SGS3 screenshot you will see the difference too (CTRL Y to toggle apply profile / no profile).
However, I'm using a high-end monitor which is perfectly calibrated so I can really see the difference (this is named softproofing (simulating the destination display device). Depending on how your monitor is far from the right calibration, the profile may be useless ... Try it ! or search for someone who have a colorimeter and calibrate your screen, the improvment is very great !
I've made this profile with Spyder3 Elite in a very strange way
Enjoy !
/
/
[Edit 1] Screenshot added as example : "Without profile" jpg is the one that is made by the phone (raw). "With Profile" jpg is the same after applying my color profile, and this one is very near what I can see when I look the phone. The difference is not small !
/
[Edit 2]
1) How to convert your screenshots:
In photoshop, choose Menu Edition/Assign a profile, and then choose the phone's profile. Then choose Menu/Edition/Convert to profile and choose the sRGB profile. Then save your image.
Now, posting your screenshots this way, they will appear like there are on the phone. (Depending on how well calibrated is the monitor's member).
2) If you have a photo wallpaper on your computer and want it to appear the same on the phone : choose Menu Edition/Assign a profile, and then choose the phone's profile
- For who can have a profile for its momitor, it's important too to use the Color Management plugin in Firefox ( the only one browser able to manage color profiles )
/
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!! [EDIT 3] !!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was a problem with some colors with previous color profiles.
When applying profile in photoshop with this V3 color profile :
- Select profile
- Untick Keep RGB numbers
- Select Relative color
- Tick Black point compensation
Now you will see in PS the colors like they will appear on your SG3 !

Color Management is not an easy thing to understand at all. It can be a sbject of PhD ! And my bad english does not help to explain ...
The profile is usefull for who makes themes (it's not to implement into the phone):
-When you work on android's images in photoshop, what you see is not what you see when it is on the phone.
-With the profile you can :
--> See in photoshop what you will see when the image will be on your phone. It helps a lot ! Before making the pofile I was making changes, pushing them to the phone and then going back to photoshop (it was looking good in photoshop but not on the phone)
--> When you take a screenshot on the phone, the image is raw without any color profile, ugly ! Applying my profile you can visualize the screenshots on your computer like it appears looking at the phone. It's good to apply the profile to the screenshots before posting. At the present time the screenshots available on the forum does not correspond to reality. I will add a small tutorial to do that.
you get it ?
ok now i understood it. Im learning to make themes actually. So this wil help me

I hope so ! See if someone or some store can lend/rent you a colorimeter to calibrate your monitor. I can warranty that this will change your editing experience ! You will be surprised visualizing your photos ...
Unfortunately, monitors even high-end, are sold without being calibrated .... The Delta can be very huge !
all i see in the 2 screenshots is that one is brighter than the other
i dont get it

Color management is a headache subject ...
The purpose is to get the same visual result on the phone and on the computer. The fact is that you don't have my phone so you can't see that the second picture looks like the phone and not the first one.
Actually, your case is not surprising : in general (90% ?) netbook's screens are very bad (poor color range and very sensible depending on what angle you are looking it) and of course non calibrated. So it's not a surprise you're not viewing a lot of diference.
Even like that, if you can calibrate your netbook screen there will be a significant improvment to view photos and other stuff.
Thanks!
I've been trying to solve different looking colors problems for a while now.

I'm pleased to know someone is using this profile and finding it usefull !
It was'nt easy to make it :
- 1st, I ran Basiccolor display calibration soft with my Spyder 3 colorimeter, on my computer screen, and make screenshot of each pattern color.
- then I put the images on my sdcard's phone
- then search for an image viewer able to switch picture by clicking a button. I found one where you can configure the button you want to use.
- then, ran calibration soft on computer, holding colorimeter on the screen phone and clickin the button just in time (at each color measure).
I will not do that again !

App - Capture RAW Images- FreeDcam

So after lots of exchanges with the developer, i finally have RAW image capture working in Yureka.
It is still in beta, and the steps to download is long (for now), but hey raw capture and editing is pure joy and we can get great results and details out of our powerful camera.

what other explanation do you need?
also the dev at the g+ page is very helpful and does reply to all sort of queries.
Bluish tint and low quality
Sadly there is a bluish(sometimes greenish) tint and that is not light but too much. Any way to capture raw with normal colours? Also the quality is even lower than the jpegs captured with stock camera app.

can you post your settings?
also you should post the dng files on G+ page where the developer can take a look at it
I dont need the dngs.
The green is because of the missing colormatrix. But it can easy fix with awb tool in ps and rawtherapee or every other app wich can read dngs.
It would be usefull when the thread starter update it and make his knowledge for all users avail.
Its not good to point all problems to me.
I get bored when answering 20 times the same question and user get stupid answers or im just ignore them.
Its not my problem when people dont know how to process the taken raws. The quality can be worse when you dont know it.
Im thinking about to remove rawsupport in freedcam for all devices wich use the neutral matrix... Then its limited to g2/g3/m9 devices.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Free mobile app
Ouch. ...i knew that the color tint can be fixed but i didn't know how to do that. No prob i will check youtube. What about the quality? Is something wrong with the settings?

the preview is in dark conditons always a bit noise. for raw capture use iso 100 in all light conditions. it reduce the noise heavy. the exposure can later increased when its to dark.
also turning off wavlet-denoise can decrase the noise

We don't have a powerful camera like one+one and the raw output is expected to be noisy as no noise reduction algorithm is used.
Although FreeDcam has options for noise reduction and what not, i would rather do that in an external software. this is the reason why we are capturing in raw right?
With RAW you will get much more lighting information and thus edit should be much better.
Also try to use manual control available like adjusting ISO etc. Google should be your friend. Enjoy!

with that you can lock the camera ae routine. that means you can point into the sun lock the exposure and the cam does not change it until it gets released.
it can be used to trick the camera shutter time.
as sample when you want to have a longer exposure time at night. aim with the cam to a dark point or lay it to the ground and lock the exposure. then point to the scene you want to shoot.
the same trick can be done for a faster shutter speed. for that lock the expo into a light (sun or simliar)

1. Find a nice place without street lights close to you. The darker the better.
2. Use a small tripod. I got one for 6$ on AliExpress.
3. Set the ISO to 50.
4. Usually manual focus and focus on the the farthest possible. It depends on the scene so you can also use auto focua.. I prefer manually so it won't change.
5. Set it to 10 seconds timer , or use voice shutter.
6. Start with around 5 seconds shutter and play with it until you get your desired shot. Play only with the shutter speed.
7. Profit.

Yes and no.
Yes, but not without sonething to block light from the camera. In DSLR we use ND filter. Yoi can search online for how to make ND filter for the camera homemade. I think it is possible to use camera film to block the light but I'm not entirely sure. Google it, I'm sure you will find something. Google "How to make ND filter for my phone".. without blocking light the photo will be overexposed no matter what.

How to use config(xml)
Configs
Let's get started!
1. Go to settings and scroll to the very bottom where XML configs are mentioned.
2. Go to this item and save the config (naming it as you like, the main thing is to create a path)
3. Go to the path that was specified in the save (/ GCam /config7 ) and copy the configs there.
4. Go into the camera and click on an empty space near the white button and gallery on the right several times. A panel will appear in which all the configs that have been saved will be displayed, select them and click restore.
! The camera will restart and this will mean that the configs have taken effect!
Hope I could explain. Good luck
What is Lib Patcher ?
Libpatcher - is a custom setting where you can set all the settings to your liking
Radius Temporal: changes the graininess of the image by affecting noise, the higher the image is more blurry and less noise, the lower the more noisy, but more detail
Tone Curve: Adjust dark points, white points, shadows, highlights. It is recommended to enable and leave the default values.
Sharpness: allows you to control the sharpness of the image. Zoom in for low-light shots, and zoom out for selfies. THIS IS A PERSONAL PREFERENCE, ADJUST TO YOUR NEEDS
Luminance Noise Reduction: Controls the “graininess” in images caused by high ISO. Decrease it to get more detail at the expense of high noise, or increase it if the noise is unacceptable to you
Color Noise Reduction: Controls color spots. There is usually no need to adjust it as this will not improve the quality, but you can increase it slightly if you see colored spots in the dark. Too much chroma noise can cause a decrease in saturation. Also known as color noise
Contrast: allows you to control the contrast of the image. Increase it if you want darker shadows, and decrease it to make it brighter. THIS IS A PERSONAL PREFERENCE, REGULATE IT IN YOUR NEEDS
Saturation: allows you to control the saturation of the image. Increase it if you want more saturated colors in your photos. THIS IS A PERSONAL PREFERENCE, ADJUST TO YOUR NEEDS
Luminance noise reduction levels
Level 1 (Detail) changes the photo very slightly, slightly smoothing out small elements
Level 2 (Rough Surfaces) seriously alters the image by smoothing grain
Level 3 (Edges) doesn't change much. Smooths edges slightly
Level 4 (Smooth Surfaces) radically alters the image by making it posterized by smoothing out large areas of the same color. Avoid magnification over 1.0
Color noise reduction levels
Level 1 (Detail) fine textures, but the same applies to rough details
Level 2 (Rough surfaces) fine textures, but the same applies to rough details
Level 3 (Edges) Edges are mainly defined by the contrast between one object and another
Level 4 (Smooth Surfaces) Smooth surfaces are generally uniform areas of the image. Like wallpaper with few small details

Hi ! Thanks for the work.
With the 8.xxx version I have to install Google Photos if I want to watch the pics or videos I've just taken from this app. Is there a way to change that ? I don't want and don't need Google Photos.
