Flashing a custom ROM ! :D - HTC Desire X

Good day Guys!
I got my Desire X a few days ago and I was planning to root it
but the Desire X community is not that mature yet (and I know it will sooon! )
and we don't have a full workin recovery yet I was thinking if we could flash
a rom via fastboot? using the command,
fastboot flash zip ROM.zip ?
Have a good day!

Well, i think it would be possible, but we don't have a ROM yet.
But you said you'd make a full sense 4 ROM? 'Cause that'd be great!

Mmm...I just got one of these for my girl just last week.
Unlocked boot loader...rooted...and then checked out that there was an update...
faaark...
...but I'm unsure if it's something to do with bootloader...or CWM...
maybe using stock recovery will be fine to do the update?

Re-flashing the stock recovery and re-locking the bootloader wasn't enough, at any rate.

Trying to flash the update ZIP from CWM didn't work either. Re-installing the stock RUU (after relocking the phone) seems to have worked on the other hand; the update took a while to install but is now churning along nicely. Of course, this means losing all of your data; I'm using "Ultimate Backup Tool" (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844032) to mitigate some of the losses. It's not perfect, but it does help.
Well I m from India and I received the same update,
then I relocked my boatloader and unlocked it again then i flashed the stock recovery and the update was installed successfully ....
U can get the stock recovery from 25th post in thread

Like I said, that didn't work for me; instead of booting to recovery that dropped be back to the bootloader instead.

Other recoveries didn't work for me.

are there any changes in performances ?? or camera as stated??
and i guess just using the ruu and updating will work as theres a problem with rooting and not bootloaders ??

You could make a nandroid backup, flash RUU, install OTA update, (unlock bootloader again?), flash CWM and restore /data.
Just extract the ROM.zip from the RUUs available maybe that'l work? Or is there an hboot update?

Telus One X+ - root stock?

Hello everyone,
I just got my new HTC One X+ from Telus and god this thing is fast! I really like the stock rom but I want my root priviledge back.
Currently, I have unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP recovery for AT&T model. Now I'm wondering how I can root without flashing a rom? Is it possible to just download su installer?
Thanks
Transfer SuperSU.zip from toolkit to your sd card and flash from recovery

All ROMs come with NO root and NO busybox, it's purely stock are written on post #2 referring to 1.18.401.1 ROMs.
Do I write that on post #1 from where that you have link to that backup ??
Read this thread from page 100 onwards, many things have been said on how to update : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209143&page=100
I'm not going to start all over again to advise how to do it. You can ask question there, someone will assist you

[Q] Please someone help me root my HTC One X+

I have managed to unlock my phone, but I cannot root it! I simply want to flash a ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987885
Please help me. I have rooted an HTC Vivid once before, but my knowledge on rooting is very small.
There is no need to root just to flash a custom rom, just unlock bootloader, flash a custom recovery and flash the rom. The custom rom will come with root access enabled.

1. A good way to go about rooting your phone would be to have a look around the forum, and see if any help topics have been posted. Even the most cursory look will likely get you what you seem to be looking for.
2. If you have done the above, then do tell us what you have tried, where you got to, and what error'ed out. That would help people help you.
A wrong way to go about this business would be to post a new topic in the help subforum, asking someone to help you root, without having done any of the above.

Sorry about that. I attempted to flash several ROMs and managed to somehow delete my os. I was able to restore my phone with a RUU after 12 hours of trying to bring it back lol. My phone is currently relocked. I would love to put a ROM with sense 5 on my phone, but I am worried about bricking my phone again. I tried to find threads to help me, but I for some reason was unable to find a thread that actually explained how to root, and put a custom ROM on the HTC One X+. If someone could explain step-by-step how to approach this I would very much appreciate the help.

Download and copy across a Sense 5 ROM - I use Insertcoin and its great
Just use Hasoon's toolkit to unlock your phone and flash TWRP. your old unlock.bin should work
reboot into recovery, wipe (dont format your storage), and flash the ROM
flash the boot image
Done

Download whatever recovery .img you wan't, and the custom rom.
Copy the custom rom to your internal storage.
Then just boot into fastboot and use the command "fastboot flash recovery xxxx.img" reboot into recovery and flash rom.
