Smart Keyboard PRO bugs on cm9(and ROMS based on it) - Wildfire Themes and Apps

Hello, I've got a problem. If i try to use a cm9 ROM, and i use Smart Keyboard it goes for a min and then, if i try to type it doesnt react. I have to press back and then press to write again. :c it really messes with me, cuz i would type a simple 200 symbols msg like in 10 minutes... and there's no problem on 2.3 ROMS only cm9 ;s

There's noving u can do about it. All keyboards on CM9 will have a bit lag or many. The phone just cant handle it well

I've the same issue. Press back button and relaunch it. But has someone any idea why it happen?
Sorry for my english.

Solution.
I think that i've found a solution. There is an option in settings inside of advanced settings, "disable multitouch" i think, my keyboard is in spanish so i guess that it's what it type in english, tick it.
And the other thing is in general settings, where shows multi-tap interval, you reduce it and I think that our keyboard will go fine.
I hope that it works for you.

Hello there, kids - you gotta love 'em!
Its one of the east things to sort out (don't let her near your pattern lock!) go into you messaging app and in the text input box long press, you will get a popup and one should say 'Input Method' select this and then select either Android or Standard (or whatever other keyboard you are using).
Thx so much.

[Q] Gingerbread Keyboard .. Spacebar and Period

Ok Getting tired of this.. I Hate HTC keyboard, but I love Gingerbreads.. However I hate the Fact that when I text someone or type its looks like this :
hello.this.is.a.test to. see what.happens
The Perioid is in the way or the spacebar needs to be bigger I cant decide? Anyone else have this issue?
I Tried using swype but I dont have the Patients for it. Its a great concept just not for me? Any Solutions out there?
Is there anyway to get the OG Droids soft keyboard layout on the Tbolt?
I don't know what's wrong with your keyboard but I'm typing this on gingerbread keyboard and its working fine. I don't have any issues with it. I have also used Swype but for some reason, lately it doesn't seem to figure out what I'm trying to swype so I switched to this keyboard and have been quite happy.

Download the gingerbread keyboard from the market. That's what I finally had to do. I had the same issues. Just the way I use the keyboard i guess.

I'm the same way. The only respite I've found is from using other keyboards from the market. Just look around and try some different ones, and find out which works best for you.
I found that if I make the settings key always hide and move the mic key to the symbols page it makes the spacebar a bit longer and easier to hit w/o touching the period. might be worth a shot for you guys.

Care to share? I'm not seeing it.
Settings > language & keyboard > gb keyboard > voice input
You also might want to try out swiftkey, as I haven't had any issues with it. It is leaps and bounds better than the stock keyboard.
is there a way to change the "done" button to "send" like in the regular froyo keyboard? annoying to have to press the "done" button and select "send" in the next screen.
UPDATE: Noticed this only happens in landscape mode. Regular view shows "send" key and "attachment key". what gives? is this a flaw in the app?

Nothing beats Swiftkey. Most ingenious keyboard around and works as well as advertised. I just don't like that sometimes it lags as it pulls predictions from my history. Maybe because I have so many SMS?
The trick with the mic and settings key (set to always hide) worked! Thanks. I like the GB keyboard for a change of pace.

This. And I hid the voice and settings buttons to make the spacebar bigger. But I am using swiftkey, its better in my opinion. The prediction engine is excellent and saves me from typing at all.

Possibility to mix IMEs?

Hi devs,
Is there any possibility to mix up 2 different Input methods?
I like to use the android default or some similar qwerty-keyboard for "on screen typing", but if i slide out the hardware keyboard i want to use the SE IME.
So i have to change the IME by pressing text input field manually, every time i wish to use the hardware or reverse.
So my simple question is it possible to mix up IMEs or any other chance to get this managed automatically?
Sent from my X10minipro using XDA App
It should be logically possible to attach a task of switching the input method when the event of keyboard out/screen rotation takes place.
But then again if someone did it it'll be an app that would charge, because it'll be a lot of work for coding and making a ui for it.
Guess you should stick to your fingers for now!
XDA ♥
it is really hard to mix but possible i try and post when it works^^
but its hard
It's been a while since I tried it, but i think i remember there being an app available in market called Keyboard Manager (requiring root access) that allowed this. It needs to run on boot and automatically switches the IME based on keyboard state.
Edit: I was wrong in thinking it read keyboard state, it read rotation sensor state.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ne0fhykLabs.android.utility.kmLauncher
yeah this app is very cool and fits my needs.
As predicted it IS a paid app
Tested, works absolutely great!
Even my device is set up to ignore orientation by rotation sensor, "keyboard manager" seems to recognise the keyboard slide out and changes the IME automatically.
Now I use swiftkey x beta for onscreen and SE IME for keyboard typing...
Thanks a lot!

Dodgy keyboard

I've tried installing different roms and kernels to try and fix this issue, but the "w" on the portrait keyboard doesn't work - instead it presses "q" and "e".
Is there a way on fixing the keyboard?
You need to go into the keyboard options and recalibrate that *****.

Sorry i'm a real noob, but how do you do that?
I cannot find a calibrate option for the life of me :l
when you get into your keyboard hit the little tire looking icon next to the mic.. And try the reset button in the options ^^

Which keyboard are you using?
I press the little cog and it takes me into "saumsung keypad settings" which has keyboard types, input language, xt9, keypad sweeping, character preview, auto-cap, handwriting settings, voice input, auto full stop and tutorial - but no reset?
Just the stock samsung keypad?
Ah yea the samsung one doesn't have a recalibrate option. I'm using the HTC keyboard, which has that option. Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16368109#post16368109
When you're installed go to: settings>language and keyboard>HTC ime mod settings>text input...scroll to the bottom to calibration tool..
Hope it works!
Weird how you automatically thought he was using HTC_IME.
I installed that HTC keyboard - the W key on the keyboard still doesn't work - I think it may be to do with that location on the screen?
Paired with this, I can't add contacts to my phone :l I'm using Litening ROM v5 :S
Very odd, could be a faulty screen...may be something to do with the roms you've been flashing..they can make things go funny sometimes.
Can't help with the contacts issue, I've only used stock on this phone.
I think just take it to the shop (after you've flashed original rom of course, and got rid of the yellow triangle thing), and swap it for a new one.
Good luck.

[Q] Disabling touch keys on Xperia Active?

Hello!
I have Xperia Active and since it goes underwater this da*n touch keys activate themselfs when they touch water.
But when they'r wet and I touch them - they don't work!
So I got "Button savior" app for that.
The problem is...I start recording out of the water and when I put ma phone underwater back or home button activates itself and closes the camera.
Is there any way to disable touch keys?
Looked in system files with root browser but I think I didn't found anything.
hw_config.sh I tought, but nothing in there.
So I'm asking 4 help here!
what to change and where to deactivate those keys?
c'mon I know that some dev could know something more than me
just help me where to look in system files...
Bump, anyone?
Sent from my ST17i using XDA
Since kernel is actually driver for communication between HW and SW, is there any room for modding it to disable the keys?
I thought something like CWM, a menu where you could disable those.
Typed via Xperia Active + XDA app
It's possible if you use miui, there's an option for that.. I will try to search something similar for other roms, but probably you will need root..

Have rooted phone and experience with modding but not developing.
Typed via Xperia Active + XDA app
I have the same problem: how to shoot videos underwater? When the water touches screen, camera app immediately shuts down
C'mon, lots of devs out here but no1 knows? What to edit in key layout or where to look?
Sent using Xperia Active and XDA app.
Use miui rom. There's a option for disabling the softkeys. I tried it and it worked.
Sent from my ST17i using xda premium
Got the solution!
I just edit the key numbers in system/usr/keylayout/cyttsp_key.kl
To disable back and home touch keys, just change 158 and 102 to 000.
I think changing VIRTUAL to WAKE could also work.
Then you just need to reboot and have Button savior ready!
It would be awesome if some1 would make a script or app to do that.
Yes
In MIUI roms it works! just go to settings and click on the "block buttons" icon.... :highfive:
You did not understand me.
I do not have MIUI on my phone and don't want to have it.
I found a way for every other ROM, as it is written in post before.
