Looks like it will be in UK Currys PCWorld on 13th - Nexus 10 General

Just searching twitter and I came across these two posts from Currys PC World confirming they will be selling the Nexus 10 on the 13th in the UK.
Good news!
Not sure if we'll be getting more official news nearer the date. Was the Nexus 7 "officially" announced as an in-store release?

Great news! It'll still retail at £389 though right?

Hey guys, I work in Currys/PC world.
The big hint towards us getting the Nexus 10 was when they announced a partnership with Samsung to build a dedicated area for Samsung products. And it looks like Nexus 10 might be one of the main items
Edit: We normally get the Products in days before release, so I'll let you know if/when we do get it. Can't wait to use it and get it out on display
Converted 95% of the customer who came to buy an iPad from me to either Samsung Note 10.1 or Nexus 7's. Now it's time for Nexus 10 to take the limelight

Great , Off to Currys then for me on the 13th!

It also says they have a 28 say repair policy for faulty units. That sounds less attractive. Is any other real store stocking them?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Surely its a 28 day exchange policy? Better than Google's 15 day return period.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

21 day return policy according to their website. Any faults and they'll replace it straight away.

Good news, means I can test for light bleed myself, Just hope they don't increase the price at all. I much prefer to buy from shops and walk away with it in my hand.

I'm hoping to find out when argos get it. Got some vouchers I want to make use of.
Funny they announced the nexus 7 32gb before they should have, yet no ones heard of a n10, even though it's been revealed ?

I will pick it up from Curry's on the 13th if the price is no more expensive than direct from Google.

Do we know if it will be the 16 or 32GB version?

PC World/ Currys needs more employers like you, I was a big customer of theirs, but now a days their staff is just horrible, they know very little about their products and its just awkward talking to them, even tho PC World prices can be decent.

Will you stock the 16Gb as well?
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app

At a guess it will be the 32gb model only. Same as Walmart.
Probably be priced at £389.99 so only a little more expensive than buying from the Play store.

So Nexus 10 is confirmed to be in Currys stores in the UK on launch day. Anyone have any idea whether the Nexus 4 will be stocked anywhere in the UK in stores on launch day?

Not at the price google are selling it for, apparantly LG have recommended a retail price of £599, and all the UK phone shops will take advantage of that, the bets are google are selling them at cost or less than cost to get market share.

LG are pioneering a new Sales strategy, its called 50% ON
I predict extreme results.

They'll never sell that for £600 when you can get it direct from google for 320. That's just stupid.

That can't be true. The phone companies will be selling it for free on contract. Yes the price maybe higher then the play store but it's masked in a 24 month contract.
There's no way it'll be £599 anywhere though. That's nearly £100 more than the S3 was at launch.

Ordered a 64Gb from B&H and they don't know ****, and after the rumors of delay to Q2 and that Amazon will ship Jan 25 - Feb and that the launch in Sweden is also late Jan/Feb. I decided to buy from Ebay. but the thing that really triggered was what B&H wrote on facebook
" B&H Photo Video Pro Audio*‎Jeffrey Galles*- I think we got champagne today. In all honesty I didn't know there were two colors until a little while ago."
They don't even know what they are selling and have available for preorder on there site, First and last time I will have anything with B&H to do.
The one from Ebay is over priced but what is there to do when I don't want to wait like 1 to 2 months and by that time the Prime is "old" and there will be other products to look at.

I don't know... if you have the money, then sure, you one-percenters can do whatever the hell you want.
But, in the grand scheme of things, you'll only be using this a week or so (I seriously doubt it'll take another month) early so was it worth it? I mean, you can basically do everything on a computer. Tablets are not needed -- they're awesome to use but they don't do much in terms of productivity (especially when compared to laptops/pcs).
Also, by buying off the guys on eBay, you are perpetuating the reselling process. Do you know a big reason you didn't get your pre-order? Because some **** bought 10 of these first and resold them on eBay. Guys like these really serve no economic value. (retailers provide distribution channels and outlets, what do resellers do?)

1%? I think there are quite a few people in the 99% that can afford to pay a couple extra hundred dollars more for a tablet.
ebay is too risky.
Easy to get scammed by someone trying to capitalized on the shortage supply and high demand.
It's not worth it, I can wait a little longer till local retails began getting supplies in after x-mas.

eBay is why pre-ordering sucks. Douchbags waste inventory which ruins it for the rest of us. Really pre-orders should come with a 6 month no-resale clause with head-crushing as punishment.

You can tell your "Occupy XDA" story walking pal. A week? I'm on backorder with BB for 30 days and nobody knows what the real story is. Hell, I had a Gamestop manager tell me he overheard a conference call he wasn't supposed to be privy to and that he heard that there were only 1000 tablets shipped to the U.S. and that Gamestop got 600 of those. If tablets are not needed then why are you trolling this forum and dropping your mighty wisdom? The reason I didn't get my preorder has nothing to do with someone buying in bulk, it's because BB and the other companies got duped by ASUS just like last year. People pay for goods based on the value they perceive that said goods provide to them personally. If an individual made $250 or so off me then good, eliminating the frustration and time I put into this debacle is worth it to me.
Ebay is showing three (or so) 64GB primes. If they are truly 64GB primes, that is encouraging that they have made at least one run. Don't know why they are not available yet for sale though.

Too risky. There is a good chance the ones on eBay are from the bad wifi batch. And I saw one seller with a description that said he got several from Bestbuy.com yet he also copy and pasted the list of free games from Gamestop, including the part that says "Purchase a New Android(TM) Tablet Customized by GameStop and get free digital games!" So I wouldn't believe anything he says

Nexus 10 Not Released in The Netherlands, How Mad Are You?

It is already clear that the Nexus 10 is not coming to the Netherlands. Which is weird because the Nexus 7 did saw a release in Holland.
ARTICLE: http://www.androidworld.nl/132761/samsung-nederland-nexus-10-komt-definitief-niet-naar-nederland/
Basicly Samsung Netherlands is saying that the Nexus 10 will not come to Holland for unknown reasons.
So, how mad are you?
it will be sold here.
even if Google and Samsung both say no some stores will probably just import from Germany.
lets hope the mediamarkt germany is selling it !
Why frick when you can by from outline retailers... sure you gotta pay extra.. but trust me the beast that is the nexus 10.. its worth price...

im pretty pissed! was looking forward to replacing my Asus Transformer Prime with Nexus 10! Will look around to see if i can order it in Germany or UK! but please share if you find a shop with good prices that ships to NL.
BTW any word on Nexus 4?
Scandinavia
Does anyone know of any stores in Scandinavia that will sell the Nexus 10? I was pretty heartbroken when I read that it would not be for sale here.
Thinking about importing.
The tablet looks lovely. Actually sold my iPad 2 today. Just like I got rid of my iPhone 4 upon the release of the SIII.
I'll also order from the UK, have it shipped to family then onwards. Should work out cheaper as well after seeing the German price.
eBay will probably do the trick...or forward through a UK or even US address.

I've been like always mad @ google for this. I am spanish and live in the netherlands, i tired to buy a nexus 7 in the netherlands (1 month ago) and it was really hard as it was always sold out and i couldn't get it from the play store. i finally bought it in spain. Besides of that, when i connected to wifi in the netherlands, the icons of play movies and books misteriously dissapeared. I used market enabler to recover them (they where disabled?), but i cannot do anything with them. And now samsung doesn't sell nexus 10 in the netherlands!? seriusly, what the  . The rest of europe gets to enjoy the things we can't... This is also the reason why the ipad/iphone are far more popular here. I take my nexus 7 everyday to school and until now (2 weeks passed), i get daily the same comment: "is this an ipad mini?" me: "no, ST:angel:U" other: "then it sucks, ipad is far better"

the best thing to do is wait a bit maybe the big stores like mediamarkt, dixons ,saturn wont sell it but there are some small stores that will sell it. or you can easily import it in Germany (they get all the cool stuff) there are a lot places 5 minutes across the border where you can buy them. i think i will also buy one but need to look where.......... but the saddest thing is the nexus 10 will be imported via the netherlands ( harbor of rotterdam) and from there transported out of netherlands

I know that feel man. I have exactly the same problems with my Nexus 7. I was very lucky to get it here in the Netherlands, called Dixons and the shipping was still in boxes but i could pick one up.
About the whole iPad mini thing: Basicly everyone tought i had a iPad mini too. I don't mind it tough, I know it is far better.
Personally I think I will be buying the Nexus 10 in Germany, since this is the easiest and most affordable.
I find it a little strange since The Netherlands can be a big market for the Nexus 10.
Nevertheless, Germany is only a one hour drive away so lets hope Media Markt / Saturn will sell them from November 13th.

Picking my Nexus 10 from Craigslist

OK, so basically I picked up a new Nexus 10 from Walmart a week back to try out if I liked it (I already have a Nexus 4 and I loved it, wanted to replicate that feeling with a tablet). Needless to say yes I did like it although the cost was a bit prohibitive for me.
I have decided that it will go back now, and have found a deal on CL for 350 USD for 16 GB variant. The device was brought in January but the owner has lost the receipt.
Now, if I decide to pick it up, would I be able to return it to Google/Samsung if there are some problems with it? Is the original receipt required for RMA?
The lack of receipt is the only thing holding me back, and I would be glad if someone has such experience where they have successfully RMA their device in the US without needing the original receipt or purchase date.
Please let me know, thanks!

Google won't deal with you since you didn't buy it from them, you will have to go through Samsung warranty support which might require proof of purchase, but it doesn't seem like it.
Samsung has never asked me for receipt, just purchase date and vendor. But you'd not be able to go through Google or any other retailer, 100% sure.
All you need to do is register it at samsungs website with the original purchase date and they should honor the warranty. Like the others said, Google Play Store will not though

Not worth the risk, not even close...
I didn't risk it, I paid the extra cash including tax just to have that safety net. Or look in eBay.
If you do not have the receipt, many companies will still honor the warranty of the item provided the item is still within the warranty period. In this case, the standard warranty of Nexus 10 is one year and this item is only out about 6-7 months? So worst case scenario, you have about 5-6 months left on the warranty.
However judging on how high the return rate is on this tablet, I would also say it is not worth the risk. My rule is you can almost buy anything from Craigslist but electronics.
Samsung told me if you don't have the original purchase dat,e the warranty runs through December 18th, 2013 (for mine) or the manufacturing date for any other
Well I lucked up yesterday and bought one off craigslist, 32gig new in box sealed for $300.

Nexus 10 USA vers in UK - OK to buy?

Hi all, I have the opportunity to buy a nexus 10 32gb for £300 its a refurb but says it comes with warranty.
However when looking into it, including calling samsung uk - they do not give warranty to the device in the uk but would if I sent it to the US (I'd prefer not to of course).
I haven't checked google, but it seems that they won't cover it either from their t&cs.
So in reality is it worth getting it for £300 or should I spent £20 more to get the 16GB version?
The GB isn't a big factor, but £300 for the 32gb is pretty good and they are pretty much open box returns - so brand new.
What do you guys think? Do these often have hardware issues which require returns?
even 32gb its not enough ...
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda app-developers app
I had the same dilemma when buying mine in the UK. I was told by Google support that the US warranty was only valid in the US and the only way it could be repaired under warranty if something went wrong was to ship it to a US address and then contact Google in the US!
Eventually I just bought the UK version. It's going to less problematic in the long run and easier to sell when the time comes.
Also, there's a fairly good chance that you'll have the pleasure of paying duty and Vat when the tablet arrives. This will add another 26% or so to the cost!

Not entirely sure if it'll come with a carrier. But the wifi version will probably be available just like the Tablet Z was. Both in Sony Stores and in resellers like Amazon, Best Buy, etc...
Best guess is it'll run $499 for a wifi 16Gb just like the Tablet Z did, and $599 for a 32Gb model. Mobile connectivity versions a bit higher, depending on if you buy them straight up or on a contract.
Last I heard indicated either late April or early May for release in the US. Probably May is more likely I bet.
The cellular model looks like Sony made one model with every band in it.
So you could import and will work on Att and T-mobile.

Wow! I'm not here to bash, or promote, any particular retailer. I'm just a guy who wants to buy one of these and am frustrated that Sony isn't selling them here the U.S. (Similar story with the Z1C phone which I ended up buying from the U.K.)
But ... Did you really pay $1500 at Tropical Mobile (price I see on eBay) for a device which retails around the world for $5-600?
If so, my hat's off to you for being bold and decisive. I'm still waiting, hoping for a good option from the U.K. or from Sony USA. The price from the U.K., when available, is forecast at about $590 with support from Sony UK and a two year warranty. There are apparently reputable U.S. eBay sellers offering no-support Europe versions for $510. The latter are promised to already be through customs and ready to ship; what I read at Tropical Mobile is ambiguous about where they actually are and if there might still be customs issues.

I got the WIFI+LTE version from Tropical on Ebay.
I purchased about 10 days ago and the price for the wifi+lte version was $690
I see he just recently raised the price to over $1,000
Mine came from Singapore. Left Singapore and was at JFK and cleared customs the next day. No problems at all
Mine left Singapore too. I paid $560. It wasn't $1000 or so like u said at that time. So no need to rage just simple ask...

Thanks for both answers. That all seems much more reasonable. The big question I struggle with on any of these imports is warranty. Sony typically warrants their products for two years (sometimes with an offer of a 3rd year for an extra penny). I may never need it, but I hate to give it up. Did you get any kind of warranty?

When I was buying from tropical mobile on eBay, the description said 1 year manufacturer warranty. So I guess it doesn't matter where you bought it, Sony has the tab serial, identity, they would automatically cover you with 1 year warranty. Idk. That's my guess...

I wouldn't assume that means anything. They may or may not be an authorized reseller, but if you take the device to Sony's repair facilities in another country, they may not cover it.
Sony USA for example has their own repair network. Their repair centers may not even have access to software or hardware for devices that aren't officially sold in the US market.
I'm not saying that the warranty is void, but unless you confirm it's valid with Sony and will be covered in your home country, I would not assume. I've got a lot of friends in the Philippines and they deal with that stuff all the time with items they have friends ship to them from the states. To the point where sometimes they ship items back to us for us to send in for repair, since the item is only covered under warranty in the US since that's where it was purchased. Similar circumstances may prove out for these.
That said, the prices are surprising. The SGP311 sold for $499 here in the states and I'd assumed the new Z2 Tablet 16GB wifi counterpart would sell for similar. I can buy that SGP511 model for $520-550 on Ebay. Even the LTE model is readily available in 16GB for $629. The cheapest I saw the TMobile complaint LTE Tablet Z was for about $650 in the states, without a subsidy.
I'm half tempted to buy a white 16GB LTE SGP521 just because I'm almost afraid prices will go up when the US model is available.
I may be overly pessimistic and completely wrong, but I both assume and expect that if I self-import an offshore Sony product that Sony USA week disavow any responsibility for it. Best case is that I would have to send it back to the country of export.

I'm considering that option. You get 2 years of broader consumer protection against various maladies for $100-130. But, I still hate to give away that free manufacturer's warranty

I got the White SGP521 model and I love it.
Really sleek looking and performance is awesome.
Using in on T-Mobile and I am getting LTE speeds in the 35mbps range in NYC.
I ordered this last week from eBay seller never-msrp. Black 16 gig WiFi model. It seems like its a euro model as its USB charger is euro prong. Price was fair. I wanted this bad. Think seller has more.

I was millimeters away from ordering the same model from the same seller - and may still. They were responsive to my inquiries and seemed like they would be reliable. They honestly answered my warranty question, which (to my shame) scared me away, or at least caused me pause. I'm not sure from your post... have you received it? Since they offered two-day delivery, I guessed they had the product in the U.S.A. already, which made me more comfortable about it not having to get through customs. How long did it take to arrive? It's supposed to have a U.S. plug; is it a satisfactory charger? Anyway, congratulations.
