Screen types of the HTC One X+ - HTC One X+

The HTC One X+ is rolling out in Europe...
So I've started this topic to checkout how much / which screen types there are for the HTC One X+.
For the HTC One X there were three types:
- Acer = 0x4940014
- Sharp = 0x294000f
- Sony = 0x181033
The One X+ has got another screen (Check out the Dutch site: Tweakers.net: Review One X+)
It's less vibrant, has got less brightness (nits) so that's quite a pity
HTC One X:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
HTC One X+:
The HTC One X+ screen type that is known at the moment is: 0x944a03
So I want to know if other European / American users have got other types of screens in their One X+
How to check out which type of screen you have for the HTC One X+:
• Download: ES File Explorer File Manager @ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=nl
• Go to settings, root-settings, and set a mark at 'up to root'
• Start your One X+ TWO TIMES after eachother
• Open ES File Explorer
• Go up and up and up and up till you are in '/'
• Press the searchbutton and search for 'last_kmsg'
• Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait....
• Open this file in a text editor (on your phone or email it to yourself and open it on your computer)
• Search for 'panel_id' and / or 'panel_vendor'
• Check out the code and place it in this thread...
Known types of screens:
0x944a03 = unknown manufacturer, anyone?

my HTC One X uses 0x944501 and is not listed too. Has your screen been replaced by HTC service centre?

I am talking about the One X+, you are talking about the One X... I want to know the different One X+ screen types! Not One X!

No more people that wanna check there screen type? Please people come on!

panel_id=0x944a03

I see. I followed the instructions correctly but can't search for last_kmsg.

'Up to root' has been enabled?

Does this only work with ES Explorer? Did it with Root Explorer and it didn't find last_kmsg...

Es File Explorer can search in "/"
I don't know if other file explorers can do that, that's why ES

Finally able to do it. This time I chose to "restart" the phone instead of powering off and turning it back on again.
Anyway my panel id is 0x944a03.
By the way, my phone has this yellowish tint, how about yours?

I can't get this to work on my AT&T version.

Mine hasn't got a yellowish tint, more like grayish / blueish --> cold looking...

I got the same one as well:

Go in to your camera, then press the "AUTO" button.
Pick Smart Shot.
Auto will be the first option on the top left if you're holding your phone in landscape with the shutter button on your top right.
Hope this helps.
Hi,
I don;t see the Auto button as well. Does it have something to do with my software version. I am running Android 2.3.4 with HTC Sense 3.0

Are you using the stock camera app and not a market app?
Press your menu button when in camera..do you not see it toggle between settings and options?
Auto button. Camera/Camcorder switch button. Front/back camera switch. Flash button.
They should be there.
Yes I am using stock camera.

Are you with tmoile or telus? Telus did not include the SmartShot or PerfectPic (or whatever) that Tmobile has. Not sure about Wind Mobile.

Click that wand with the sparkles.
And here's mine:
There's the "Auto" I'm talking about. Anyway in your case I'm sure it's the wand with the sparkles.
And that "square" focus icon looks nothing like the Amaze's "circle" focus icon.
And your shutter button is in a different location as well.
Mine is opposite my options.
Your phone is a fake Amaze. =P
I am on Mobilicity. I think it should be similar to Telus.
I think xb was using the Telus cam in his Rom for a little while. It didn't have smartshot like the tmobile version.. ie telus using different software version for camera so no smartshot.

Soft Button Color Changes

I've seen that some people have found a way to change the soft keys on the Galaxy Nexus from white to blue. Is there anybody out there that can figure out how to do this on the Atrix???

If somebody puts those buttons on cm9 atrix than yes it would be possible to change them. I don't think we are going to get them because our screen is smaller than the nexus and we already have hardware buttons that do the same thing.

the buttons on the atrix are not softkeys, notice they are still there if you pull out the battery !?!
in order to change the backlit colour of those keys motorola would have had to install a RGB LED, for backlighting under those..... to avoid any more follow up questions ... they did not

hmm, I had read about people who's touch screens messed up and their search button would launch whatever was in that position on the launcher, their home would launch the thing in that position. I always assumed that the buttons on our phone were part of the LCD itself, just that portion of the screen is forced to be White.

I ran this followed by the debloat (v3) script, and now I have no htc widgets.
I have attached an undo for the wifi notification removal, although it has not fixed my widgets issue.
Worked great thanks!!

Any chance some one can make a zip to get rid of the N icon from the nfc being enabled?

There was an earlier version of the De-Bloat script that removed ShowMe.apk,.odex and HTC_Widget_ShowMe.apk,.odex which causes the HTC widgets to be hidden from adding them. Sounds like you may have run the earlier version. I recommend first try flashing the "Fix" zip file on that post, and if still nothing, post in that thread, the Dev that made the script is really responsive and can likely help you out.

Sense 6 APK install

This is pretty simple guys. So this requires a build prop edit to show your device as a HTC One M8,
And then it requires you going to google play from a computer to install OTA.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=HTC+Corporation
Click install on the new apps, Blink Feed, etc Zoe,
Then select the HTC M8 google thinks your device is,
TADA Profit. Install.
Will be posting screenshots of ZOE and blinkfeed from the one max.
Not a full sense 6 but a start
Talking to my buds over at TK Tech News on youtube to do a video as well

Done it. Update was smooth and flawless, phew...... everything retains, fingerprint security .....
But I didn't read any review nor youtube, nor study, hence a quick rant.... Except to all the greenish color theme or others, errrr what else changed? haven't noticed anything explosive
don't like
blinkfeed swipes up tooo fast and never stops from page to page, I find the previous better because news don't overshoot.....
no more weather animation wallpaper for me , please tell me if you find it or found how to reenable it, thanks.
like
camera app improved UI so much better, for me anyway....
ohhhh yeah finally get "CLEAR ALL" button in the multitask window & the short cut to what's actually running, nice

There are certain features that are very important to me like being able to ready message on lock screen .. I'm very dissapointed that this phone does not have that option

I said the same thing. People argued with me and said the G2 didn't have that ability, but it certainly did. In the message/notification settings.
I really want that, option, as well as call reject, a native flashlight app, LG browser and task app(Verizon sucks), the ability to sync my Facebook calendar with LGs. There a ton of little things I'm missing

To read messages on the lock screen just get Dashclock widget and Dashnotifier extension. (may not even need the dashnotifier, can't remember for sure but I have both) and put the widget on your lockscreen in place of the clock,
See that's the awesome thing about Android is if you don't like something about your phone or want a certain feature.... Then change it! Between Apps and Xposed modules you can make a really nice stock ROM with pretty much anything you could ask for. Once we get the bootloader unlocked and start getting custom ROMs, forget about it, this thing is going to be a BEAST!

Xposed has the xblast module that has lockscreen notifications and lockscreen flash in it but it crashes sometimes so I use floatify and I love it. For flash light I use the g3 tweaksbox by assigning one of the volume buttons in "miscellaneous tweaks" when the screen is off.
