Verizon Targets November 29 as Launch Day for Galaxy Note 2 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Assuming nothing bad happens over the next few weeks, I’d say the 29th of November is the big day. Can you patiently wait a month?

Uh, Best Buy is already selling a Verizon Note 2 in some places.
We can be patient, but we'd also like it sooner. Anybody does since Verizon is Effing us over with it.

Has this been confirmed? I read that some Bestbuys have them on display. I called my local Bestbuy and they did not have them in stock.

I think everyone on this board is aware of the release date.
Best Buy isn't selling them, that is the demo unit.
AT&T's note was released on the 9th or 11th I forget, but the demo unit was in-store on the 3rd.
It could've been someone just putting out the unit way too early or for BF so people can see it. Hopefully it will be out before that, but so far all signs from VZW have been pointing to no.

That says new customer 2 year act. Nothing about pre order.
Definitely looks like they are selling it.

Nobody has confirmed it.
Could've been the wrong ad put out early.
And I believe this happened to the AT&T note too at some places, but it was only for preorder. This seems like the right time for preorder anyways.
Sure looks like it, but dont say they are selling it when no one has confirmed it. Even droid central beat around the bush basically avoiding the words available at best buy now

I wonder if Verizon will delay the Note 2 even more, seeing as how the DROID DNA is coming out the 21st...

I honestly doubt they will delay the Note 2's launch for that reason. I believe this because they have more than likely already delayed the Note 2 for the DNA.

I called a non-corporate store yesterday and they said they didn't have a release day. They called back today and said they just recieved a call from verizon that the official release day is the 29th.

Verizon may have the best speeds, but overall, a pain in the ass.

What he said. Maybe the best LTE network but in terms of high end phones locked/encrypted bootloaders, and delayed releases, bid red does not rate highly for those items.

VZW, never early, but always on-time. It seems like those original documents that surfaced about the N2 launch were correct.
That sucks, on the plus side only ten more days. I woud've liked to have it over thanksgiving break.

Yeah, considering the other carrier Note 2s shipped without the muliti-window feature, I'm guessing those carriers pushed for it to be released early - trying to be the first to get it.
Also, I used to have Alltel and it wasn't that they were late with phones, it was that they never got many good phones at all. Also, there were 2 people in an Alltel store at a time max, often 1. My area is so populated that the main road has 4 lanes each direction so yeah... it was a good 2 hours or easily more waiting since most people were asking about plans and then phones having not done any research first.

It would be nice to have it by Black Friday, but no such luck. A week until ths shipping starts.

I don't know? Since the KR version had this at the beginning and the Eu version didn't. I don't know why this is, but I don't think it is carrier specifc, but rather Samsung. So I wouldn't say it is carrier specific pushing for an early release date - as MW is available now and it isn't like we are getting JB 4.1.2, rather, this is the way it was supposed to go down on all carriers.
However, I do know VZW usually does extensive testing on their products before-hand. Still though, the biggest carrier in the USA shouldn't be getting phones last.

26th

I think people are using the words "ship" interchangeably. For some, the mean get all the devices into Fedex's system and for others it means that the phones are on Fedex's trucks. I have been told by 7 different agents (over the phone) that the devices is supposed to exit the pre-order system on the 25th. Assuming it does so, then I predict the next day (26th) Verizon would be talking to Fedex and generating labels. Then (27th) I would expect the devices to be on the trucks and on the road to the different distribution centers.

I can confirm this as well. When I have talked to reps who seem competent, they say the average ship time is three days from the warehouses to your doorstep. 1 day to get everything on the trucks and 2 days for shipping - makes sense it takes an additional one day for making labels for these/boxing as well. so 4 days seems very reasonable.

The Atrix isn't selling too well here in Canada and if it's bell who has the final say on the update... I think ill just return my Atrix

Maybe he assumes since they cut the price by $100 (on contract) in the first week it is because of slow sales.
NOTE: checking their website again it looks like its back up to $169. I wonder what was with the temp price drop. Oh well, saved me $100.

well $69 dollars for three years. THREE YEARS sometimes phones in America go for that price but for 2 years. I think it is overpriced at $169 for 3 years.
Uh.. I've been to 5 different stores recently in Toronto and they either have only sold one or none. This phone is obviously not selling well, who's been telling you it has been?
Honestly like, I've never seen a high end phone go on sale a week after launch. Somethings not right.

I think the reason they dropped the price was because the day it came out, they dropped all the other smartphones to $0 except for the iPhone 4. Now if you're a customer coming into a Bell store not knowing much about the Atrix, those other phones are impossible to pass up "Hmm, $0 or $169. Wow that HD7 has a huge screen and it's $0. I'll take that one!". Bad marketing by Bell, nothing more

maybe bell is trying to get people to to sign a 3 year contract, its called marketing, contracts are worth much more than the $100 they are discounting. do you know how many stores in toronto is selling the atrix? theres no way to guess how many are sold based on visiting 5 stores and asking the employee...have you considered they were not telling you the truth, ive been to a few bell stores where their employees are apple fanboys that were trying to only push the iphone to customers.

5 stores that I randomly choose that has terrible sales? That's a pretty slim chance.
Anyways, thats not important. I went to return it today and apparently bell won't let me because I've exceeded 50mb of data usage. Even the Futureshop salesman was shocked to find out about this. They told me to go back tomorrow morning to speak with a full time salesman and figure things out there...
I hope I can return this phone and cancel this contract...
When I got my Atrix in the period of time I was in the store 3 other people came in and bought it as well so I wouldn't call that bad sales. Plus I know 4 other people that are going to pick one up.
As for the contract, under Canadian law you have 14 days to suffer from buyers remorse and get out of any contract. For your phone, when I signed up for it I was told I had 14 days or 30 minutes of talk time to return it and nothing about data use, so I wish you the best of luck for that part.
I'm in vancouver and as I was buying mine, this 60+ year old lady comes in and buys one... I was blown away... I asked her if this was her first android device and she said she owned a magic before. I was impressed.

The Guy at the corner store has sold 30 Bell atrix, 12 iPhones & 2 chocolate doughnuts this month. The iPhone is clearly starting to fail.

You're exaggerating now, because you were initially wrong.
In any event, even if you're correct (which you're not, I know direct and indirect dealers in your market), you're only talking about 1 market which you're wrong about anyway.
And yes, updates are released by carriers and are subject to their approval/branding/pollution. This matter changes if the phone's bootloader becomes cracked and capable of loading different ROMs however.

I can find this phone in stock anywhere in Downtown Toronto in any types of Store(Bell, FutureShop, Bestbuy, Source or whatever)
Man, Bell representatives are so clueless sometimes. There are no restrictions on data usage for smartphones but the first 2 bell ppl kept insisting there was a 50mb limit. I just wasted the whole day trying to get this sorted out. Finally the third person agreed with me and said that the previous 2 thought the Atrix was a tablet. WTF??
Anyways, phone's returned and everything, I feel so relieved now. I had to think real hard about this phone. Then I realized, if I had to think this hard then obviously I wasn't satisfied with it.
That was my first smartphone and I was not impressed with android. Maybe I just expected too much. I did love the fact that I can download mp3's for free and watch flash videos, but there was a key piece missing which was crucial to me. The overall user interface was not fluid like the Iphones are. I would hit the home button and it would sometimes work. Then when I tap it again, the phone would register everything in the queue 2 seconds later. I know some people are ok with this, I am not. I got a high end phone and I expect the same as I do with a high end PC, not lag on current generation software.
When Android irons out these issues out then maybe I'll consider using android again. I think fragmentation really hinders android just like it did for PCs (still does to a degree?).
Sorry for the rant, Futureshop/Bell really pissed me off today.

Att has really botched the SGS II release

Can't say I'm too surprised, but can a company be more ambiguous about a release?
Many sources are claiming that it will release on Sunday 9/18. I've called 3 different local att stores and my answers ranged from never heard of it to we are restaging our store on Sunday 9/18 for some new phones but the SGS II is not part of it
Commercials on TV are everywhere, Sprint customers already have their hands on it and we(ATT customers) are left with "coming soon" without even a concrete release date.
The phone is already on the verge of being late to the party(been out since May globally) so come on AT&T, and give us some information that is worth something!
Botched? AT&T will release whenever and still sell a ton. Only people like you and me really care when the release date is.
I just called att sales and and they gave me the same old story about keep checking online. I pushed the issue about wanting to talk to a supervisor since I have heard that the stores are stocking them as we speak. He came back on and said he talked to his store manager (confused here as when you call sales they connect you to a store?) and then said his manager confirmed that they are stocking them in the stores but STILL could not give a release date. He said that could mean a few days or a week/s until they receive the release date. I said sprint came out with it today. I also asked about pre-order and he said they are not taking pre-orders. I am JUST AS frustrated as you on this whole fing matter. Just give us a REAL TRUE RELEASE DATE. I am GLAD that I never run att software and don't rely on them for it to be released ever. Well I guess we will see on Sunday. I will probably stop by a local att store today also and push them for info. I will be back once I am able to during my lunch break.

(1) It's AT&T
(2) It's not an Apple product.
Regardless how much potential GS2 can be, AT&T simply won't give a s**t because it will never sell as many as iPhone 5 can be.
Best friend works for AT&T and they haven't got them in stock yet. They haven't heard a release date yet either. I can say that seeing sprint release it has me EXTREMELY anxious for this damned thing on AT&T. He knows how much I want this phone and is going to let me know as soon as they get it in stock.
Okay I am calling MANY ATT stores local to me (at least I have about 18 local stores that I am in the process of calling now. I will continue to update this post whenever I get a chance. I am listing the phone number, whether they say if/when the release date is, whether they say the do/don't have it IN STORE NOW. So far this is the first couple I have called:
EDIT: I called alot of the local att stores and listed them all below. Kind of bummed that none other than 1 said with good confirmation that they hadn't heard of a release yet. Some that say possibly Saturday said that that USUALLY before a phone is released they will get inventory the day before. I had let them know that I had spoken to 611 earlier which told me stores were starting to get stock today for either this Sunday 18th or next Sunday (which was TRUE from my conversation with 611). So I guess ONLY Sunday we will NO FOR SURE one way or another...I had also mentioned what the 1 store told me that they had them. Sorry but I am so excited and upset with the not hearing anything from att.

Same thing happened with the release of the Captivate, T-Mobile got it first on a Thursday and rumors were that AT&T were releasing it that Sunday, no official announcement just a rumor. Went to AT&T that Saturday to ask about it and they said they only had cases for it but wouldn't expect it for another week, went across the street to Best Buy and they had it in stock!!!! Bought it and went back to AT&T with the Captivate in hand and asked to buy the case LOL.
Hopefully I'll have such luck tomorrow, if not then I'll be patient and get it Sunday, but if it's not out then Sprint may have my service!
Its botched because they are a couple of days behind sprint?
The international version has been available for months if you have deep enough pockets.
If you can only afford a subsidized phone, keep waiting.
This is the captivate forum btw. If you bought a captivate on release or since then that line isn't eligible for an upgrade yet anyway.

Well he meant the regular users without a special plan. I bought my Captivate in July 2010but i used my wife's upgrade Contract..... my Captivate Died on Weds so I was forced to use my Mother-inlaw's contract. That is the only reason I have the ability to upgrade to the SGS II if released on Sunday. Other than that I would have 6 more months to wait.
I bought the Captivate, July 17, 2010, I have been eligible for an upgrade since July 18, 2011, YMMV.

Well I got a bit more bad news for us waiting for the S2 on ATT. I just came back from my local Radioshack and a Samsung rep was there. He told me specifically that the Galaxy S II will be launched on AT&T in early to mid OCTOBER!! WTF
I may wait a few more months and see what comes out by the end of the year, they shouldn't have waited to release this on ATT this long!
Ok so at&t giving special treatment to some customers and giving them more than 1 upgrade per line every 2 years is just one more reason to dislike them as a carrier.
Why does at&t not give me special treatment? I have 4 lines on my family plan and also u-verse tv service.
Playing favorites is a sure way to piss some customers off.

Poor americans. Drunk on credit, heading for a cliff, with the corporate greedheads telling you keep going they've got the GPS heading locked in. Guy above is probably right too with the comments about apple having interests it needs to protect. System is clearly broken. Dunno how, but the volk in europe are getting closer to pushing reboot. For that matter, we all gotta flash a new kernel, yellow triangle be damned!

AT&T underestimating the Galaxy Note just like overseas did

I've seen from some of the posts on these threads that some people who ordered online won't be getting the Galaxy Note on the 17th. Some have called AT&T and were told by a rep that they ran out of them at there warehouses. It also seems like most of the AT&T stores are only getting 10 for paycheck day (5 blue and 5 white), don't know about Best Buy but it seems like there will be a shortage on paycheck day as well. If the Note does sellout on day one I wonder what exuse the ifanboys will come up with this time.... I'm looking at you BGR! Lol
While I admit ibgr is a biased apple fanboy, I think ten per store sounds about right for most devices.

Lol

wow. Im so relieved I have my tracking number .
If people who placed preorders are not getting theirs, I don't believe it is because they are running out of stock at the warehouses. I ordered mine this morning and I have a FedEx tracking number for Friday delivery.
They have ordered more at this point but the initial order was really low

I think the reps are just making stuff up because they don't know what's going on. I called today because I coudn't remember if I did in-store pick-up or shipped to my house (ordered in-store on the 5th) and got the run-around with four different excuses for why the order was "in progress"/"pending" on the site. First it was because they said I didn't sign the T&A email, then it was stock issues, then it was because the phone doesn't come out until the 19th and another said I had to go back to the store to re-place the order.
Anyways, ended up just saying screw it and we'll just see what happens and see if the store calls to pick it up and then the tracking info appeared. I think they were just unprepared for it all.
my store got 10 blue, 5 white... i dunno if we are getting more tomorrow.
We didn't run out of stock.... there's only so many hours for shippers to ship phones, then it falls into next day which is tomorrow when they run past pickup times.

agreed. several AT&T employees who post here regularly have been telling us all to relax and not listen to those "Reps" that ppl are calling. if you havent gotten a tracking # yet by looking at this site https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/ (thanx jpeg42) then perhaps the # will show up by morning and according to them, it SHOULD be delivered tomorrow.

UPDATE: On second thought...I think I just got my tracking #
AT&T fails at launches that are non-iPhone as you guys have probably found out.
It's sad. The phone didn't even show up in our POS systems on the 5th, even with the SKU.
But you guys will be getting them either way.
I got paranoid and went to a AT&T core store on Super Bowl Sunday (first day we were supposed to be able to pre-order) and tried to pre-order it. Not only was there not a bunch of people waiting to pre-order it, the store employee had no idea that it pre-orders for the Note started that day. No other customer had come in asking about it by then (just after noon). So obviously, the demand isn't that bad. I'm pretty sure we'll be getting it in timely manner.

Not a lot of people even knows the phone exist. Probably won't even notice it until a few months when it catches up. Only problem with AT&T is the lag in customer service about any information about the product and some CRS has no idea about the phone.

Yeah..There shouldn't be any issues of walking into most retail stores within the first 2 weeks, and being able to purchase a Note right on the spot.
And based on the way Samsung did their SB commercial...I wouldn't be surprised if it's true that many Americans still have no clue what the Note is (and/or they flat-out don't care about it).
And this is considering that Samsung has advertised the Note a ton dating back to last September's IFA in Germany. But I think it's the case that it's far more recognized in the overseas markets.
Like in Asia...it supposedly has sold fairly well in Taiwan and Singapore...and they both are small nations overall.

Corporate Store Pickup?

Anyone able to pick one up at the local corporates store as of yet?
My store has them but refuses to sell any until sprint announce is a release date. I don't care about picking it up today but I would like to pick it up tomorrow

that is sum bull! sprint needs to let them know whats up i want my phone damn it!
Yeah this whole release seems to be really botched. I just spoke to my local radiovshack and they expect the phone mid 2012. They have no clue when its coming and there is no info sent to them from corporate that was received from sprint.
Really weird
I should have pre-ordered.
Congrats to those with a phone in hand!!

Just called my local store.
"We haven't been given a release date yet." Side-stepped the question if they had any in stock. My guess is Sprint is just waiting to see if they can fill all the pre-orders then will release a true release date. Hopefully it's tomorrow, would be nice to have a new toy over my 3 day weekend haha
booo
wish i could have pre ordered
does any one know how long it will be until they release it to the pub?

We are at the mercy of Sprint. They have been horrible at communicating during this whole ordeal. Phones are being shipped yet they are still sitting on an official launch date. This is screwing up 3rd parties, Sprint Stores, etc.
The only people who are happy campers are Sprint Preorderers. Which is the way it should be, but to an extent. This is getting quite ridiculous.
I feel like there are other issues and Sprint is dragging their feet so that they can make it to the 3 day weekend.

sprint is always messing stuff up so this doesnt surprise me
Again the lack of communication is their weak point. If they would just communicate it would satisfy a lot of people. The original release date was a week ago. The delay in customs was less than a week, or at least less than a week as far as we know right? So, it makes no sense at all that the delay after passing customs should be more than how long it was sitting in customs. Now, for all I know these could have been in customs for a month but we didn't find out about it until the last minute so maybe that's why Sprint is now scrambling.
Ugh. Damn the Sprint Store!
Ugh. Damn the Sprint Store! x2

Sure. Sprint HATES sales, that's why they're pushing the release date back. They want all their money grubbin hands on these fine devices and don't even want to give them to their hard paying customers. Maybe they're keeping them all to swim through Scrooge McDuck style.

So after suspecting that the corporate location that I ordered my phone from didn't know what they were talking about I took it upon myself to speak to a manager. He confirmed with me that they have not received their shipments and that the system does not show a shipment in route.
I then decided to call all of the sprint corporate stores in the central florida area. Spoke with every store manager at every location and they all confirmed the same thing with me that they currently do not have any in stock and do not show any pending shipment. And that they are still waiting for a confirmed release date from corporate.
I'm starting to wonder why I even pre ordered. I'm sorry if there's any typos I'm using voice dictation.
Time for another episode of "A Sprint CSR TOLD ME THIS!"
So, I called a few Sprint Stores here in SoCal and, A Sprint CSR TOLD ME THIS! "We will be receiving shipments next week."
If there is any truth to this statement, that means life will indeed suck a giant sack over the Memorial Day weekend.
Have been told the same thing in NorCal, next Wed or Thurs. I guess BB pre-orders are more special than Sprint corporate store ones.

Verizon to have "exclusive" HTC 10 demos, also preorders APR 29

According to Droid-Life and Phone Arena, Verizon has released a statement claiming they will have preorders for the HTC 10 on April 29th. They will also have the phones available in store for demo on that date.
Verizon will start preorders for the HTC 10 on April 29. In addition, Verizon Wireless stores will host exclusive in-store previews on April 29 to give consumers and media a hands-on look at the HTC 10. Verizon will be the first wireless carrier to offer the HTC 10.

Yes, the $100 HTC1008 Promo Code works for the Verizon HTC 10 on HTC's website.
My Pre-order is complete, and now the waiting begins...
Oh cool. I see that now. Too bad they don't offer the carbon gray... I'll just stick with my pre-ordered unlocked one and hope for the best!
Went in store and pre-order mine . Should by here to pick up by the 5th.

Wanted to add, Verizon's price is $650 and they are doing $22 for 24 months on their financed plan.
Went in and looked at the phone today. I'm totally impressed.

Actually is not bad at all, went to Verizon and I am very iimpresse!! Pre-ordered 2 of them. Can't wait until next week to play with it!
I am keeping my pre-order for the unlocked version.
Chatted with two representatives on the 13th who both said the unlocked version will work with Verizon, so I pre-ordered then and there. Talk about the unlocked version NOT working with Verizon had me concerned, and now that the pre-order for Verizon is up I thought I'd contact them through phone and check to see if I can switch my pre-order to the Verizon version.
Rep tells me I'd have to cancel my pre-order and place my pre-order for the Verizon version, I tell her my main concern was that the unlocked version wouldn't work with Verizon. She said no, it should definitely work with Verizon....
I am just going to wait and see. Worse comes to worst, I'll just return it and pick one up from the Verizon store at that point.

Completely agree with this. I looked at some of the main "issues" that reviewers complained about and they were SO overblown.
The screen looked fantastic from all angles. Didn't see any pink hue from the side. Camera focus was lightening quick. Maybe it isn't quite as fast as S7, but nothing you'd notice in real world use.
Only thing I was completely disappointed with was the speaker. Not only was it not loud, but it didn't sound impressive in the slightest. For a phone with separates, it did not sound as bassy as ONE speaker on my M8, and I'm fairly certain if I disabled one speaker on my M8 it would STILL be louder than the 10. Highly disappointed on that front. Hoping that I can tweak it with software and push at least a little bit more volume without distorting.
