I think its coming out next year most likely in Q1/2 with a sd slot like the butterfly, it might be water proof like the j butterfly. Many features that the j butterfly has the DNA doesn't. I think HTC are waiting for the reviews and are going to make the international even better with a better rear camera. The international dlx will be the flagship HTC of 2013 like the one x without the mistakes of the one x. I'd rather wait for HTC to make something better than the DNA then to release it worldwide without any improvements and then like the one x have a one x+ after only six months of release. Another thing is the international version will be better then the DNA but will not be known as an improved model rather it will just be the international version like the one xl and one x.

[Q] HTC One X+...worth it over the X?

looking at buying either the One X+ or the X
I can get the X for $0.98 on 2 year contract at Sams Club, and the cheapest I can find the X+ is at Amazon for $129
Is the X+ worth 128 dollars in addition?
I know that the X+ has an updated version of sense, but I can't tell readily, is the software of the X+ available as a custom ROM yet for the X?
I don't use a lot of phone memory to store videos or audio, so the 64 GB doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me
I mainly use my phone for taking photos
Yes the one x+ is worth it also if you mainly take photos, I recommend you buying a gs3, photos are way better on gs3
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2
The camera on the s3 better than the one x+?
I find that hard to believe. I just returned my s3 on T-Mobile...and kept this phone.

Yes way better man I'm gonna show you a shot with my gs3 and than a one x+.
The one x has a lot of noise in the photos why do you think there's like a 100 threads about poor photos quality

I thought i would never use 64gb either, guess again with this android device! On my iphone 4 i used maybe 15gb total. On this device, same songs, same photos, about 6gb worth of games and maybe 20 small apps, this device says i'm currently using 24gb of space! WTF, really??? I can only account for maybe 17gb on my part, guess the android phone installed already sucks up the difference. So really it's a 56gb device out of the box, lol!
I have both phones, paid 200$ each love both but I gotta say the x+ is a lot faster and battery life is much improved, one x+ is what the xl should have been but one xl is still a great choice if ur on a budget. But if not go for the x+

Let's not forget to mention that the One X has a dual core processor and the One X+ has a quad core. That in itself makes a huge difference.

Van you take the same photo with both phones instead? I honestly really disliked (i have to tone down my language because there is a sensitive op/moderator that keeps deleting my posts) my s3 and always liked the x+'s pics a lot more.

I don't own my s3 anymore but here's the deal the one x+ fails on low light situations on normal light it may be find but The s3 takes great pics at night because of the super bright flash

Default settings are over exposed, bringing down the exposure level by 2 notches does wonders. Lots of image settings to play with one the hox.

I just never understood a reason to go backwards? If something twice as good is available and for only $100 more or so, yeah i'm going for it. I paid the full $199 + tax at the ATT store for mine and don't regret one penny spent. Never once did the original One X cross my mind, lol! I wouldn't go from the iPhone 4 to the 4s because it's $100 cheaper than the 5, lol!

If you don't mind waiting i'd personally hold out another 3 months or so. Either by then all the bugs will be worked out of the current X+ device and might even be cheaper for you. Also the new wave of first quarter phones will be out from HTC including this M7 device they are claiming to be the new flagship (seems every release is their new flagship phone, LOL). The M7 might blow the X+ out of the water or it might be born with bugs just like the X+ currently has. Again though by this time you have more options versus jumping the gun now. Coming from a jailbroken iPhone 4 though i can say this phone is pretty damn amazing bro! If they can just fix this camera low light issue, bluetooth issue, and HTC figuring out how the hell to make these 4 quads actually work together to play games and what not, this device would be flawless. All 3 of these bugs are very very minor too and probably will all be fixed soon by the amazing people here, who knows? I just know i don't regret one second owning this phone.
Took a pic with my one x +

One X+ or the Butterfly

Two behemoths

The only reason I would get the HOX is because it's available right now. If you can wait and want the latest and greatest then get the butterfly.
Sent from my HTC EVARE_UL using Tapatalk 2
HOX+ is great with some customization it may be the best smartphone now available with an average battery life for completing the day with lots of calls and playing
The butterfly is like the HOX+ amazing specs and performance but you might be a bit worried from its battery
Sent from my ONE X+ using XDA premium
specs almost the same, the only spec i like in the butterfly over HOX+ is the 2GB ram and expandable
The butterfly have seem hardware nexus 4 cpu quad core 1.5 krait with adreno 320 better performance...the battery best onex+
i was out in the malls few days ago and decided to check if they have the butterfly available already. i was pretty scared that time since i just got my hox+ 2weeks ago and i might like it and it cost the same. well they did have it already and the screen is big its longer like the S3. them being good sales people they hand me one to play around. fortunately i did, its not as comfortable as the HOX+. the back is glossy so its a bit slippery and the back is rounded.
the screen for me is too big. and i dont like the feel of it in my hand plus they only have the red version.. but yeah the 2gb ram is nice.

Do you think the Devs will support.

I am really thinking about getting this phone over the S4 but not sure if the Devs will support this phone or the S4. This will be my first HTC phone.

Yup, and I really don't remember many devs leaving the One X to go to the SG3. Maybe a couple, but we still have many of the same awesome devs we had at the start, and then more that came on later. Possibly due to the price of the device dropping over time, and getting into the hands of more devs.
Will a more popular device have more devs and more ROMs? Sure. But as long as you have "enough" development, who really cares about the actual number of ROMs?
The performance specs of the 2 phones are very similar, but the One is obviously the better piece of hardware from an exterior "industrial design" standpoint. The SGS4 is just a rehash of Sammy's cheap plastic casing design. Devs aren't going to ignore that.
This is a flagship phone and it's coming out on multiple carriers.
You can bet there's going to be support. It's not like one of HTC's throwaway phones like the Rezound or the Sensation.

I would expect development for the One to be better than the already-great development for the One XL, because my understanding is that the international One and the LTE One are identical - at least development-wise as opposed to the One X, which had a community split between the Tegra 3-based One X and the S4-based One XL. It's also a really good sign that a couple of kernel sources for the HTC One are already available as-of last night.
The only real question is whether or not the AT&T HTC One will be rootable/bootloader unlockable.

Yeah I asked Torxx in the Trickdroid thread about this and he said that his rom should flash on this phone. I've also read that there's virtually no difference between any of the One's except for network bands supported for different carriers/regions which has no effect on rom flashability. Just enter in your correct APN for your carrier and away u go
I believe there will have support very soon

Maybe the international version did...
AT&T's one x keeps having issues with even obtaining root. Keeps getting patched over, then a new way takes months to find.
And we're not even talking about S off...
Wife updated to JB which came out wayyy after the international crew got it, and it's a laggy battery munching POS. And I can't even root to fix it.

[Q] Get DNA or wait for DNA+

So by now the rumored DNA+ is gonna be a reality, the specs are mainly the rumors at this point. My question is, do you think the Verizon version of the One or probably DNA+, is gonna be released sometime in June? At this point I believe enough people know about the One that if Verizon borked their version no one would buy it, so I think their version is gonna be the One or maybe have a slight spec bump. Do you believe itll be released sometime this summer or at the end? I can hold off on getting a DNA if the + comes out in the next couple monthes, not if its more than 2 monthes out.
All of these are rumors so no one entirely knows what big red will do. If your patient I would wait. Expecially if you want to unlock root and s off because right now the only way to do that on the dna is jtag. So if you can't go without root and custom roms then I would wait unless you feel like jtag.

I would be really surprised if verizon did not get the one.
So are there any pics yet of this so-called DNA+? I would think if it were to be released anytime soon there would be some sort of leaked pics, specs, or something by now. From what I've gathered just from brief looks at the ONE the phone isn't even cdma capable so I would assume if a version did come to vzw it would be completely different than any version of the ONE available now.

And, of course, add a minimum of two months for that Butterfly 2 to meander its way onto VZW.
Personally, I don't see much point in waiting 4-6 months for a phone whose only substantial differentiating features will be a 15% faster SoC and Sense 5, unless you still enjoy your current device.

Possible DNA2 specs revealed

http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/19/htc-butterfly-s-revealed/
It'll arrive boasting a familiar-sounding 5-inch 1080p display, front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers and Sense 5 as expected. When it comes to internals, the Butterfly s runs Android Jelly Bean on a quad-core 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 (faster than the HTC One), an impressive 3,200mAh battery, quad-band HSPA/WCDMA radio, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage, expandable once again through microSD. As for imaging, alongside that primary UltraPixel camera and Zoe software features, there's a 2.1-megapixel wide-angle shooter on the front.

Kinda makes me wish I would have waited on the next phone if they do release it as the dna 2. That battery life is gonna be insane. I'm pushing 4 hours screen on time and 16-20 hours of avg battery life. Still love my dna though!

If it comes to america as the DNA2 the SD card slot will likely be taken out.

Some people have already backed me up but just because I like to defend myself if you'll notice I said possible. As mentioned the Butterfly is the International version of the DNA. Thus one can speculate that the DNA 2 would be a Butterfly Variant. Just because no N.A. carrier has opted to yet doesn't mean that they wont. If Big Red is gonna carry it you know they'll wanna brand it their way and to their specifications. Just thought I'd bring some news to the masses.
Well Verizon started to hype up a new DROID yesterday and today a new butterfly was announced. There could be a DNA2 around the corner. http://www.androidcentral.com/verizon-it-again-reveals-new-game-part-new-droid-campaign

Thanks for starting a topic with a promising news. I hope Verizon won't cut "the balls" of it's new droid IF Butterfly S is a prototype for there new flagship device. Droid DNA is the best phone for me at the moment. And Butterfly S is even better. I like the screen size and huge battery capacity.

It does seem contrary to VZW's historic ways to release 2 devices so similar so close together.
However, VZW tweeted about 2 weeks ago that they WOULD be getting the HTC One.
This week VZW tweeted that there is a new Droid coming. They certainly could be referring to the same device. But the DROID DNA is very similar to the Butterfly, so the fact that there is a new Butterfly coming certainly adds a different element to the discussion. Also, the Droid title has historically been applied to a phone NOT in general circulation on other networks in the U.S.
I too haven't seen any direct confirmation that there is a DNA2 / Butterfly 2 coming to the VZW. But I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 new HTC devices launch on VZW, perhaps with a 60 or 90 day difference in the launches. The fact that there have been numerous sales on the DNA certainly leads to the conclusion that the DNA is on the way out ...

Agreed. You also have to think that perhaps they think they can cater the DNA 2 as the big brother to the One. I'm personally thinking along the lines of Motorola with the Razr and Razr Maxx deal. Personally unless you're just going for aesthetics (which apple has proven people will) I see no reason why you'd pick the One overthe Butterfly S. So it may very well not come to the US at all but if it does Samsung had better watch out because HTC is dropping some bombs on the front lines with these new devices.
I agree that they *could* release both like the Razr HD/HD Maxx. But they should just release one. While this is the superior device, if this was released as the Droid One or something you would have people moaning that they said it was going to be the HTC One and expect the device that is out now. They should have kept quiet and released this as the Droid ONE in the fall.
Seriously looks like it could be the DNA 2. With VW hyping up another Droid and is selling out the DNA, I wouldn't be surprised.
