[Q] How to turn off return (read) receipt in Gmail mobile? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
Is it possible to disable or turn off return receipts in Gmail?
Today I got an email that had a read receipt. I thought Gmail does not support read receipts or return receipts or it would ask me if I wanted to send one. But apparently it doesn't work like that and the sender of the email told me that he got a read receipt delivered from my gmail when I opened the mail.
I would like to turn off or disable this feature. Can someone please let me know if its possible and how to do it?
Thanks in advance. Cheers.

[Q] request: plugin for calendar, sms appointment confirmation + reminder

Hi all,
I've spent most of the day searching the net for an app that let's me register appointments, and offers the possibility to send sms confirmation "Dear customer, you have an appointment ... date... time", and to send a reminder like 24 hrs before D-Day "Please remember your appointment ... date ... time".
I found all kinds of goodies. Some to install on a Windows PC, some hosted online. But in all cases you need to purchase an SMS package.
On this forum I found f.ex. the miniSMS server. This showed me it is possible to make an app that can send SMS'es. Great, now I need a way to have a tool like a traditional calendar to enter appointments, and the option to send SMS as described. I think best would be an app that works on top of the default installed calendar. But then again, I don't know...
Advantage with running it from the PDA is that the PDA does not need to be connected to the PC in any way, so messages can be send at any time. And ofcourse, you don't need to purchase expensive subscriptions.
I do webdesign, but I am not a programmer, so I will need some assistance. All input is welcome. Many thanks in advance.

[Q] Samsung Email App

Hi
New to these forums so please bear with me.
I have had the SGS2 for about 3 weeks now and today I used it to forward an email from my Gmail account using the Samsung Email app (app with wax on envelope). Each time i tried to forward a msg the msg would come up and I added a email address to send too, then when I sent it the email arrived with just my covering text and no forwared email.
I am using a stock rom version KE2 and have checked its not my colleagues Iphone by sending myself a forwarded email and I can check also in the sent emails - none have the attached mail I wished to forward.
I have checked the setting and the tick is ticked for forwarding files. I have stopped and restarted the app whilst untickting and ticking the box but nothing seems to work. To forward the mail I have to enter the Gmail app and do it that way which works fine.
Whilst this isnt a major pain i just wondered if its me doing something wrong or there is a bug with the app??
Tks
John
Seems to be a bug in the email app. Seems it just refuses to include the original email body regardless if you use forward or reply.

[Q] automatic mail reading confirmation? how to disable?

Hey folks,
i recently noticed that if i recieve an email with an requested read confirmation on my exchange profile, the phone sends this confirmation without asking me.
is there a way to disable this behavior?
I'm using exchange push on the stock android email app.
HTC Sensation
Rom: hypersensation cm7 v1.0
I'll bump this thread instead of making new one.
Still an issue. Android will send read confirmation without asking or indicating that it even was requested.

A simple SMS redirect? So confusing....

I have read and read and read apps just for a simple redirect of the text of the sms to my gmail email account. It's confusing. I would like one that does not require the phone to be on. I have it off most the time while home, battery issues. But if someone did send a text message would be nice to know by coming to my email. They all are so confusing. I tried several and they didn't work. One worked but the cell phone needs to be on? How does that help. If I get a text I'll just read it from the phone. But what, as I said, if you want to leave the cell phone off and get them in your email. Anyone know of a simple solution via and app? Thanks so much! jackdashack

Suggestions on Robo-call blocker?

Hi all,
I have AT&T Call Protect, and want to use the feature to send any number not in my contacts to my VoiceMail. However, as soon as I started it up it said it was going to send my Contacts to their server. No thanks.
Can anyone think of a FOSS solution that would allow me to do this?
Thanks.
