Suggestions on Robo-call blocker? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have AT&T Call Protect, and want to use the feature to send any number not in my contacts to my VoiceMail. However, as soon as I started it up it said it was going to send my Contacts to their server. No thanks.
Can anyone think of a FOSS solution that would allow me to do this?
Thanks.

App to hide sender ID?

Anyone knows a way or app, to send texts but can then hide or change my number, as i wana send some texts, but don't want my ex to know the number or talk to her, so prefer texting her?
Without giving the number I assume you don't need a response so most phone companies have a email to sms service. Good for sending a message without a response.
Or if you need two way conversation just use textplus from the market and create a free throwaway account.

[Q] How to build and SMS Server with an Android Phone?

Hello Everybody,
I'm looking for a way to use my phone to send SMS mailing from my computer.
My idea was to use the 3G modem of my android device, connect my computer to it and fine a software to send SMS from my computer.
In a second time i would like to able to receive SMS to the computer.
Does anybody knows a way to do that?
Best Regards,
Richard Perez
Did you ever find a answer to this? Im searchingnfor something similar
Is this for more personal use like texting your friends from your computer or more like a business application to where you want to be able to send and recieve texts to your "server".
For personal use, I believe you could just use Google Voice. If thats not up your alley, you could try droidmessenger.com or DesktopSms.
For buisness application, google sms gateway. You can send texts out to carriers free sms gateways, I know there is software out there that takes use of sending texts this way.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

[Q] sms from gmail

Hey all. Sorry if this was already been asked before but I couldn't find it anywhere. Not even on google search. It seems like no one ever tried it or something.
Well, my question is, is there a way to send and receive Gmail SMS on phone? There's no way to forward it and it doesn't show up on Gtalk either. I'm asking this because it has international SMS feature that has very low cost for other countries to reply.
Does anyone know any app that can forward this feature from Gmail chat to phone? Even tho my phone support flash and java, it . Is there a work around?
Thank you,

Voicemail with Paranoid Android?

I installed Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 6 (4.4.4) on my LG G3 and I can't figure out how to check my voicemail at ALL. I get no notifications for voicemails at all. When I call my own phone number, which I thought was supposed to send me to my voicemail inbox, I just get my recording and the option to leave a message. Was I supposed to install a third party app to be able to check voicemail? Can somebody help me figure out how I can access the old messages and any future messages? Help please!

usually, when voicemail cant interact with your device (on custom roms) you should get a weird text msg when a vm comes in.
just dial *86 to retrieve it. or you could get google voice and have it intercept your voicemails. i just got it yesterday, but it seems nice, and you can make calls and text from it for free.
there is no official vzw app that will work with non stock roms that im aware of.
we may be able to pull the vvm app off the n6, but i havent seen that confirmed working yet.

Question SMS still not working right for US?

Hey all.
Just curious if anyone has found and workarounds for sms messages on US carriers?
I use T-Mobile and have the normal issue of the default messages app sending and receiving group messages as separate texts. This was eventually fixed on the Vivo X Fold but required an update from Vivo. I can change to another app like Google Messages but only the first text I send to someone works. After that, subsequent attempts give me the pop up asking me to send a payment request message.
Thanks.
*EDIT* So anyone else that needs this, enable developer mode and toggle on disable permission monitoring. I.didnt have to uninstall the stock messages app.
BRO, THANKYOU!
i searched everywhere for this answer!! you are a life saver truly!
