HOW TO EXECUTE:
Please extract the .tgz in the place you want, for example in /home/user
Open a terminal and type the following:
>[email protected]: cd "THE PATH WHERE IS THE unltlauncher.sh FILE"
>[email protected]: bash ./unltlauncher.sh
If you extract it in /home/user/unlt, the path to the .sh must be /home/user/unlt
so you have to type:
>[email protected]: cd /home/user/unlt
>[email protected]: bash ./unltlauncher.sh
Note: If you're running on a 64 bits OS, please install 32 bits libraries. If you're running on Linux and you didn't configure UDEV rules for your device, please run the script with superuser permissions (sudo bash unltlauncher.sh)

N73G
Any news on making it work on the nexus 7 3G?
Otherwise it looks like a really good tool for all my Nexi.

I tried the cwm way of unlocking and rooting my N4 and everything seemed to work fine. I did the method where I kept my stock recovery however I can't access it. If I use your tool and flash the stock image will this wipe everything on my device?

Yes, I'm sorry factory reset option will delete all data.

It will be just like it came from Google, but with unlocked bootloader. If you also want to lock the bootloader you have to run the lock bootloader option after running the Factory reset option.

What is the advantage to locking the bootloader once you are finished?
Also, not that it matters, but will your phone stop receiving OTA updates if you root it?

It will only stop getting OTA if you replace recovery, you will still get the notice, it just won't install

After rooting using the toolkit, my phone sticks at the 'Google' screen but won't boot into Recovery. Should I try the process again?

You can do either. The update package is live. I stopped doing incremental updates a long time ago to avoid incomplete setups, so taking the update is the same thing as grabbing the whole package, it just automates the process.

This looks like the easiest method yet! Is this root method compatible with decrypting? Ik some people have been reporting that with certain root methods they lose root after decrypting and re rooting makes them re encrypt.

I would also be interested in knowing this. I just decrypted and then rooted with Wugs NRT and it re-encrypted my device.
Looks like a nice way to root. I just had my Nexus 6 delivered a few hours ago. Sometime during this upcoming holiday weekend I will be unlocking the bootloader and rooting my new device. I might have to try out rootME. I'd like to hear some feedback from people that have used this method to gain root.

If you decrypt then use fastboot to install twrp and flash SuperSU by chainfire you will stay unencrypted use the newest beta by chainfire.... Most of the root toolkits replace the kernel and it's back to encrypted that way

Possibly because most longterm nexus fans will root via ADB terminal on their PC and do it manually, also people still dont have devices yet.

to add to this, i believe this installed a malware into my chrome. DO NOT INSTALL! I'm pretty sure about this one. Use CF auto root for fast and easy root.

root the device the right way, it takes about 4-5 minutes.
1. use fastboot while your in your bootloader and type.. fastboot oem unlock. this will unlock your bootloader.
2. fastboot flash a custom recovery.
3. flash the latest supersu in your new recovery.
4. reboot with root.
that's it, the right way.

The N5X version of this update was released yesterday had some performance improvements and more: http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...emp-option-performance-improvements-and-more/
A reddit user named GoogleNexusCM, who claims to be the Nexus product forum manager posted this the 6P subreddit
I want to let you all know that an OTA update will begin rolling out today for the 6P. We value and listen to your feedback, and this update includes a number of bug fixes that will improve overall stability and performance on the Nexus 6P.

The fixes for this build are similar to the ones I mentioned for the 5X. Some of the fixes will help with/address:
General device performance
DND next alarm disappearing issue
Carrier-specific bug fixes
Connectivity improvements
I also should mention that the builds mentioned on the developers site are carrier specific, with the majority of carriers worldwide being on MHC19I (5X equivalent - MHC19J).

Hey, I noticed some weird stuff when I started playing around a bit after flashing back to MMB29V. (developer options wouldn't work, quick settings wouldn't come down from the dropdown). And yes, I was on MMB29V when I flashed MHC19I.
Now that I can get into TWRP, I can at least restore my backup. It will complain that system is mounted as Read Only. Just go to "Mount" in TWRP and uncheck the "mount system in Read Only" checkbox and Put a checkmark next to "System" in the list of partitions to mount. My nandroid is restoring right now. I'll update when it is complete.
EDIT: Nandroid restored and all is good again!

Thanks to Chainfire, I am just sharing
So... If I'm on stock N (stock system, stock boot.img, stock recovery, etc.), would the easiest way be to just flash the latest TWRP and then flash the SuperSU zip? Just want to make sure I'm understanding everything correctly

Yes :good:
But, in case you have forced encryption, and the package doesn't flash, you can feel free to use the CF-Auto-Root package.
So I can use TWRP to roll back to my Marshmallow I'm currently on using the restore function if N doesn't cut it for me? Would I have problems with encryption or userdata by restoring (assuming I've backed up everything)?
What are you guys using for modified boot img to disable forced encryption? Thanks.

Do you, by any chance, have root working on your 6P running Android N?

Works for me on my 6P after trying the phh SuperUser method for the past few days. It doesn't appear to mount /system as r/w though

If forced encryption is disabled on Android N, it would stick if you flash a custom ROM.
Root is working fine. Have TWRP booting fine and installed kylo kernel. All I need is xposed and I'll be super happy with this preview! ?

Is there any custom kernel working with N to enable wake and sleep gestures?

Anyone come across a file explorer that can mount System R/W? I'm using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.fx&hl=en with SuperSU 2.69 and it's not able to even though the app itself does have root access.

Try Solid Explorer, it was working when I was on N: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer2&hl=en
I think Root Browser works too, at least I remember reading that somewhere.
