Want to upgrad to tf700...how are apps compatibility from Prime - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I know I can post this on the tf700 forum but I thought it was better suited here since some have upgrade to tf700. I would like to know for those who have ugraded to tf700. Did you find any app or games not work on tf700 but works on Prime. I'm reading in the tf700 that a lot of apps not being compatible but might be just Tegra 3 specific. If its tf700 specific issue due to the higher res then I might hold off.

There are a lot of games not available for the tf700. Most of them you can side load if you make a backup of them or restore from titanium. Mass Effect 3 however doesnt open and you get a server error pop up. Asphalt 6 will say game not compatible. And some games just run slow like Need for speed Most Wanted (had to side load it) and the graphics gets screwy. Below are the games available from the market thats I've purchased previously on my Prime.
Spiderman (latest one)
Modern Combat 3
Nova 3 (actually works smoother than on the Prime)
Golf 3
Suprisingly all Glu games are available.
Here's some screen shots from the play store
Gameloft (These are all of them unfortunately)

EA is even worse
I was really hoping there would be more games available since the tf700 has been out for a bit now and extremely disappointed. I'm not sure if unlocking and putting custom rom on it will make a difference but I'm not sure I wanna void my warranty yet. Also JB is very laggy compared to JB on Prime. I have to keep it on ICS. Everyone recommends cleanrom with clemsy kernel but again this voids warranty. When it comes to stock TBH the screen is the only thing good on it. Oh and they redesigned the back aluminum so sd card wont stick out anymore. I got a good deal on mine but I think I may have to turn around and resell unless I decide to unlock it but I'm not sure i will still be happy with it.

Nexus One vs. HD2

In my view, the Nexus and the HD2 are the two best phones available at this time. I am not taking the Desire or Legend into consideration as I view them as Nexus variants. (However I know the desire has a slight edge with a little more ram.)
So, what do you think? Is the HD2 too big for you? Is the Nexus one to basic/plain?
Vote, and comment, I'd like to hear what people think.
I'd also like to note I am not asking which phone is better out of the box, all variables come into play. Customization, Custom ROMS, style, etc.

vs.
Neither tbh, both were tested on the gadget show along with the hero and the milestone. The hero came up tops over all the others,Having previouly owned a touch HD i would never go back to WinMO.Far to many windows error messages if you are going to get one of those i would go for the nexus but personally id have a Hero
In a word "Evo". Google it. It's an HD2 running Android (and has some hardware improvements)

I'm quite suprised to hear the hero beat both. I don't think the hero has any chance between the HD2 nexus. I currently own a hero, and while its a great phone, the nexus alone smashed the hero in processor speed, RAM, screen size and general features. The only plus for the Hero IMO are physical buttons.
As for the Evo, seeing as its a Sprint phone that leaves almost 90% out of the loop.
WinMo 6.x sucks, and I wouldn't want the HD2 for that reason. However, it's got the little Windows button at the bottom, which tells me that HTC is starting to build their handsets to be compliant with Windows Phone 7. The HD2 might allow you to run WinPho7 leaks/custom ROMs a lot more readily than other WinMo phones.
That said, as curious as I am about WP7, there's no way I'd buy a WM6.x phone just to satisfy future curiosity. Just food for thought.
in proccessor speed yes buit when it was down to apps, camera and other bits they said the camera was way too dark and quite often blurred. They liked the nexus OS but also said hero is due the same and the HD2 was better at camera but they didnt like WinMO and preferred the App market

Lapdock 100 confirmed on Engadget

It basically looks like the Webtop Lapdock, but with chrome accents, and can connect to a number of high end Moto devices, such as the newly announced Atrix 2 and also our Photon, via what appears to be a dongle. Launches exclusively on AT&T on Oct. 13th followed by launches at other locations (Sprint?) later this month. No price yet.
Anyone interested? This guy is.

That's great news!
Webtop is quite slow, not productive enough. I always wonder whether moto is going to seriously speed it up.

From a hardware standpoint, webtop performs ok when compared to an equivalent netbook. Not too long ago those single core Atom netbooks could barely play youtube vids. The eyecandy is it main hindrance and the patch work coding doesn't help.
I've already discussed possible improvements with moto and there response was pretty much "webtop's awesome, everybody loves it, the hardware can't support a real desktop enviroment and who would want that anyway." My rebuttal was to show them my Photon running, at that time, a prerelease of Ubuntop using the lapdock. "We don't get it." was what I got in return at which point I walked away.
I have a single core 1.6 intel atom netbook and im sure my photons hardware blows it out the water lol. I need a full fedora distro on this thing = perfect phone
That's pretty legit. I might actually ponder getting one if I don't get a tablet instead.

You know what, I had an Asus TF. Great device, great support. I traded it and went back to my NC running CM7 via Phirenook. 7 is such a good form factor, I slide it into my binder and have my text/web resources at my fingertips, right beside my notes. I have magazines on there and books, and with that screen...things are easy to read.
That being said, I'm hoping a 7" model of Xoom 2 is announced and or the Galaxy Tab 7 is price appropriate, because there is something incredibly utilitarian about a tablet the size of a paperback. My $.02.
Edit: Locks like the Lapdock is going to run $249. Hmmmm.

Ah, the "100" was misleading - wish that was the price

Considering ordering a Prime. Would you do it again?

Hey all!
My wife and I are in the market for tablets. Both of us are in school. We both want to be able to watch movies including Netflix. And we both need the ability to create and modify Word docs.
I've been doing a lot of research and think the Prime might be the best solution for us. However, the iPad is also a contender.
If you had to do it over again, which would you get and why?
Thanks for your input!
Why ask why?

i would do it again in a heartbeat i love it and no tablet can match it and once it gets ics the world peace will start
i would do it again. reasons? it is more powerful than ipad2, once some software comes out that utilizes it, it will be even more of a beast. the dock adds a whole world of utility to this tablet. also, I think it is the best looking tablet.

Yep what he said.
I would do it again without hesitation. Apple devices are locked down, and therefore restrictive. With an Android tablet, you can do much much more!
It can also be customized to make it your own! Without hesitation, YES- I would do it again...
By far the best tablet I have ever owned and used. Blows the ipad 2 away in my opinion and the gaming is just amazing.

I agree 100%
i would do it again, the biggest reason for using it over an ipad2 is the dock, if you're planning to do a decent amount of word processing on a tablet, the TF line with their respective docks provide the best user experience in that regard compared to any other tablet on the market.
if i had to do it again id wait for ics. Im not overly impressed with the prime. I think once apps and os can be optimized for quadcore then it will be the best tablet. But for now most apps and HC are not so you wont see a significant difference.

exactly, short n to the point. this device has me more satisfied than with my Og iPad.
I know I am digging this up from a while ago, but...Would you still do it? I just ordered one from HHgregg for the $399 price ($411 with shipping). I have been watching these forums and doing research but I jumped at the lower price..so I ask you...
Would you buy this again? If not at full retail, then at the 399 price?
Edit: I'm pretty sure this should be in Q&A...Sorry about that, I just dug it up using the similar thread functionality

The student/researcher perspective or What Would Make Android Better for Students?

If you had to, how would you make android and android devices--esp. tablets--better suited (or indispensable) to studies and research? What's already great? What would need to change? Scroll down to the end for my thoughts, and please add your own ideas.
Background:
Tech has become an in important part of the lives of many students in the west: smartphones, netbooks, laptops, PCs and, recently, even tablets. I get the impression few manufacturers--other than Apple--are paying attention to the students, choosing instead to court the average consumer, the geeks, or the business sector.
Over the past year, android--despite its limits--has become integral to my studies. My phone has given me a great way to study flash-cards all the time. My tablet has proven to be the perfect device for reading books and articles in PDF and HTML formats. Both have proven useful for interfacing with services like evernote. The ability to take all my info with me at all times has made me read and learn much more (without breaking my back or my spirit). It's also given me a lot more leisure time
Thing is, to the best of my knowledge, I am the only person in my class--and probably one of only a handful in my programme--who works this way. I don't think this is exclusively due to the costs (in terms of money) of setting up a system such as mine--after all, iphones, ipads, and macbooks (or macbook airs) don't really come cheap.
Some other reasons may be: that it's a pain in the ass to buy and juggle a phone, a tablet and a netbook; that it doesn't really suit everyone, or that it isn't worth the effort to get used to; that it's, well, dorky.
With the arrival of Tegra 3 and the new Transformer Prime, I've begun to think that android tablets may be on the verge of becoming more than just luxury devices for media consumption (or toys for dorks I kid! I kid). However, there are some changes I'd like to see:
- Student discounts and subsidies, esp. for accessories such as the keyboard dock (in the way Apple products are often subsidised).
- Native support for split screen with all apps, similar to the solution from Onskreen:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The latter would be esp. valuable for me, as it's the feature for which I most need my regular computer wrt studying (chromium + studydroid or evernote).
How 'bout you? I realise some of you are very much against the notion of tablets ever being anything more than toys for consuming youtube videos, and I'm mostly asking those who don't fall into that camp
peace
Btw, is there an official Asus rep here on xda?
Expect a release of cornerstone very soon ;-)

I still think they're incredible. This game is 11 years old! I think it has aged remarkably well.
