Does the LGOG support aptX? - AT&T LG Optimus G

Can someone confirm if the AT&T variant supports aptX over Bluetooth? Thanks.

I am pretty sure it does but could not give a definite answer.

That's what I'm thinking but before I buy one I'd like to know for sure.

I finally found some information.
http://www.csr.com/technology-solutions/av/audio-products-powered-by-csr-aptx/smartphone
This is a list of all smartphones (and other devices) that support apt-X from the maker themselves. You can select the brand in the drop-down list. As of yet, the LGOG does not support apt-X. Perhaps the list hasn't been updated, but I see the One X+ there so I'm inclined to think LGOG just doesn't support it.

Hi , one of my friends who is an aspiring developer has made me second guess my purchase saying this phone is just software and good specs painTed over old and dated hardware. He told me that the international device will get all the dev support while US variants get next to nothing. He is also telling me that roms are not going to be compatible between carriers in US. Can someone that knows what they are talking about confirm or deny these claims and put my mind at ease?

Yes, no one is going to develop for this phone. You should just mail your's to me and not worry about it any more...

Are you just trolling? "old and dated hardware". You have to be joking. This is the newest hardware you can get.

Will this phone be available for purchase in Canada

Does anybody know if this phone will become available for purchase in Canada? I am not seeing any news on any sites about this phone becoming available for purchase on any sites.
Doubt the "DNA" will, start watching for news on the Deluxe.

Yeah, isn't the deluxe just the international version of this phone? Same phone but different name?

I haven't read into it much. As far as I know, some details haven't been announced. It could have different ROM or have a sd slot like the Butterfly etc. I doubt there will be any large difference though (granted many people consider the sd slot "large")

[Q] Is this true? DNA might not see 4.2 or future updates?

I just so happen to be reading the review by BGR.com of the DNA because I've never seen it before. I came across this... "There are also concerns about HTC and future software updates since it isn’t clear if HTC’s recent smartphones will ever see Android 4.2 or any other future versions of the operating system." Now this left me scratching my head, and asking myself why? Can this be true? Did I just buy a brand new dud phone? Is HTC really doing that bad?
Now, I love my new phone, but reading that leaves me with some concern. If anyone can shine some light on this topic please do so. I'm just hoping the editor was just talking out of his ass, because HTC is in a light struggle right now, and wanted to beef up his review. Well, I still have a little over a week to return the phone if I need to. I guess I better start digging for answers before its too late?
HTC doesnt really pushes as many updates as others do, atleast what i have seen till now, i could be wrong but i wont actually be worrying about that because the devs here at XDA make our phones awesome. I am currently on Captivate which recently got a GB update from Samsung but thanks to all the devs here, i am running JB on it So , just trust the devs here & keep the phone !
Why can't these phone makers keep rom development going for the entire period warrantied by them as soon as the phone is released, so if it came out say next week it would be supported for atleast a year jeez.
Although I would prefer an official update from HTC to stay current, that's not stopping me from putting a different rom on my phone!
Are phone makers lazy or just constantly switching support bases for their dev teams?
You guys shouldn't believe everything you read . This phone we hold in our hands " the j butterfly" wasn't even supposed to see American soil , and look what happened. HTC may be slow at updating but since everybody knows this its your choice to come here and wait . Release of an update is depending on not only HTC releasing it , its also dependent on Verizon giving it the final seal of approval. And my self would be happy to wait , phone just got unlock, and good things are just starting to happen .

BGR is trolling. There was a rumor that HTC was developing their own OS or forking Android. I am sure that is where they are drawing their conclusions from, despite that being a false rumor that has been around for a year or two. HTC would be committing mobile suicide, because Google won't license their app store to non-Android devices (that I know of).
The DNA will likely see 4.2. Probably not past that though. HTC (and Samsung, Moto, etc) typically don't update phones past one Android version upgrade.
PS - the Butterfly is an off-shoot of the DNA, not the other way around. I have that directly from HTC. The DNA was developed at VZWs direction, and since the Butterfly would not compete, permission was given for it's release.

Asking dsb for proof is like asking the church to supply you with proof of god or Jesus for that matter ... Just believe him , he knows what he's talking about ... Besides what would he gain by not being honest? This isn't a pissing match in the slightest

I know where dsb started, thanks. I still would like proof. The J Butterfly was out well before the DNA, so it seems weird that the DNA would be the parent device.
I don't just believe anyone, regardless of their status.
Just like his advice to switch to LTE/CDMA to get SVDO working, which does not work.
I apologize for coming off as rude, but asking for proof should not be met with blind fanboyism.
The DNA is a Verizon variant of the phone that was previously released in Japan as the J Butterfly. I covered both devices for Rootzwiki News, and every other credible source I read from said that the J Butterfly was the first HTC device with the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and the 5-inch 1080p display. The J Butterfly, the Droid DNA, and the DLX are all variants of the same phone, but the DNA was definitely not the first one of the group.

So is it possible that an International DLX won't be coming? Since it's Unlocked GSM and would work on ATT and Tmo.

While time-frame-wise that is entirely true, however when the phones were thought of/created as opposed to released are two different things. Not saying you're wrong, just that the DNA could have been created by HTC first, then the J. VZW could have easily pushed the release past the J.

There will be a DLX - there's no way T-Mobile and AT&T are going to pass on a 1080p HTC phone with a 1080p display and a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset. AT&T might try to make its own locked-down variant, but the other carriers are not going tollet Verizon have the only U.S. version of this monster - especially since there has been no word that I've seen of any exclusivity clause for Verizon.

Hence I asked for proof Otherwise it is an unsubstantiated rumor.
I don't think the j butterfly is out yet in Japan?? They just had a press release, pending December launch.
I could be wrong but try and find the butterfly for sale??
Also adynalyne, god I missed your work from the thunderbolt days... Been itching for some BAMFness

You are right though. I don't know if it was released or not. I can't find confirmation either way.

To worry about HTC's status as a going-concern is pretty much like wondering if you will buy a new and more awesome phone after 2-year contract. I think HTC will be around. Look at RIM, even in such situation, they are still fighting for a comeback. HTC is not RIM yet.

Nor do I think HTC will become a RIM anytime soon. I just hate the fact that HTC pretty much puts out a phone, and say... Ok, we're done with this one, on to the next. Support lacks once the phone is released.

[Q] Canadian Nexus 10 availability

I am hoping that this is a simple/quick question. Since like 2 days after it became available, it has been constantly sold out. It is quite annoying. I was wondering if anyone knows what is going on with the availability of the Canadian Nexus 10, and if it really isn't available, or if there is a possibility that it actually is available, and a cookie, or something on my computer, makes it displayed as sold out? Thanks in advance!
Note, I wasn't sure whether or not I should put this into Q&A, or General. So, I stuck it in General. If this is wrong, please tell me for future reference.

I didn't say release dates, I said availability. And I have heard about it becoming available, then being sold out, but I have never come across it. Which is why I'm asking. I don't know if it is my computer by chance, or if it really is sold out. Either way, I asked if anyone knew anything. Because maybe someone does. You obviously don't.

VS980 User, Soon to be Switching, Willing to Donate Device to Dev

I have a mostly good vs980, I can't really sell it for much or give it to family b/c the headphone jack is finicky af (touch the headphones SLIGHTLY and it'll pause music/blare browser stuff out of the speaker) and there's some slight wear and tear, so I figured I'd give it to a developer in need. I was planning on donating it to Mike from PA but given PA just shut down and the thread was locked a couple weeks back, I figured I'd just make this thread to see who wants it. Send the word out to any devs you know who'd want it. New phone (nexus 6p) won't be coming in till mid November, so they'd be getting the phone like late November early December most likely.
Edit: Also if a dev who works on the kernel sources and already has another variant wants it to work specifically on the vs980 specific stuff that's fine as well.
That's so kind of you
I wish there were more people like you

Sup, just checked out your profile, impressive stuff. Didn't know about your kernel since it was in the d802 forum, I'd recommend moving it to general so everyone can take advantage! I'm sending you a PM with some shipping details.
Edit: Also for some reason xda says I've never sent a private message, so not 100% sure if you got that XD Let me know if you need me to re send it.
