[ROM][PORT][Player4] AOKP milestone 6 - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed.
Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

Bugs
can't remove nav-bar
can't mount usb storage - i think it's a build.prop error
superuser goes crazy at times - will replace with supersu
usual teamsupernova bugs
Installation instructions - same as LINics
Unzip rom and have the boot.img handy
Put the rom zip into the root of the sdcard.
Flash the rom using CWM. If you don't have it, please flash a custom kernel. (I recommend terrasilent)
When you're in CWM6, reflash the rom again.
After the second flash, flash the gapps zip.
Wipe your data.
Reboot into download mode and flash a GB kernel. (preferably the one you had before)
Reboot again into download mode after getting into CWM5.
Flash the boot.img with heimdall at the KERNEL partition
Note: If you're switching between versions or builds, there are simpler installation instructions:
flash this kernel with heimdall
boot into recovery
wipe cache + dalvik
install rom and gapps
Enjoy!

i need to remove the nav bar, not add it

in future releases can you try to make it only CWM flashable?

Once team supernova figures out how to deal with the recovery. If it were so easy, than wouldn't you think we'd already have cwm flashable packages?

FYI, Theraf you may have figured this out already but just incase and so everyone else knows if you flash the CM9 or LinICS and set the setting for USB storage then flash the way you described in the quoted post (NOT doing a wipe data/factory reset) you retain the use of the USB storage.

So here are the fixes for the nav bar and usb storage, just copy and paste into the build.prop
# Softkeys
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
# Mass Storage. You can change to mtp
persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage

[Q] Looking for ROM that's closest to stock Android

Hi, I'm running a stock P500 and I'm a bit disappointed with its performance. I'm looking for a ROM which is feature-complete, i.e. no missing features such as Bluetooth calling, etc. and minimal to no deviation from the stock Android UI. Any suggestions?
use megatron ROM it is the closest in my opinion and has very good performance but i would suggest trying the other ROMs that have gingerbread like miks cm7 they are not missing much and what they are missing you can get back

Do as what you are told on their page.. I or the dev will not be responsilble.
Ok, so this is all kinda new to me so I wanted to make sure that I have the basics covered:
1. I need to root my phone. I'm running Android 2.2.2 so I guess that means I need to use gingerbreak. It's an .apk file that I need to install on my phone and then I run it to gain root access. Are there any command line actions needed for gingerbreak?
2. After rooting, I need to install a ROM manager such as CWM or AmonRA. If I'm not mistaken, the program itself will install the custom recovery, right? And how do I boot into that recovery mode?
3. After booting into recovery mode, I need to do a nandroid (?) backup of my current ROM, right? And the backup of my stock ROM is restored through the same custom recovery, yes? Would restoring the stock ROM unroot my phone and remove the custom recovery as well?
3. After backing up, I need to flash the custom ROM which should be saved as a .zip file on my SD card. Do I need to worry about the kernel as well?
Sorry if I have a lot of questions.

1. Install it, open it and select "Root"
2. No, the root program won't install the recovery. You need to do that; the easiest way is by Rom Manager (download from market); boot in recovery: turn off the phone and start it by pressing at the same time: home + vol down + power key and release at lg logo to enter custom recovery or just select boot into recovery from ROM Manager
3. Yes, make a backup and to restore it just select "restore" from the same place. No, you will restore the backup you just made so your phone will be exactly the way it was when you created the backup (including apps, settings etc)
4. Yes, you will enter "install zip from sdcard -> choose zip". Don't forget to wipe cache, dalvik cache, data/factory reset and format /system before you flash the rom. Other kernels are not mandatory but highly recommended (the differences are big) - also wipe just cache & dalvik cache before flashing the kernel

Thank you. What are the precautions that I need to take to make sure I don't brick my phone? Also, what are the chances of my phone getting damaged and at which point during those steps is it most likely to happen?

The chaces of bricking the phone are very small.
What can happen:
- some people reported that their phone got bricked when they installed the recovery with ROM Manager (this can be easily undone, there is a thread about this). Never happened to me, everything went smooth & fast. There are other ways to install a recovery if you don't want to use ROM Manager, just check the Development section.
- the ROM you choose can be uncompatible with your recovery (all the new roms are compatible with clockworkmod recovery (this is the recovery you will install via ROM Manager); there are some older roms which are compatible only with AmonRA)
- after flashing a custom kernel the phone might not boot (no panic, just flash the rom again or restore backup); check if your ROM is compatible with the kernel you choose
Flashing with recovery is very safe because everything can be easily undone. As long as the phone boots into recovery there is no panic.
But most of the time if your cautious and do everything as told your fine~~
hahaha.. Enjoy..
Rom manager give Cwm.. So no hassle..

Thank you. When I backup my stock ROM, the output is a .zip file which is no different from how the custom ROM zips are packaged, right? Also, would you know if Gingerbreak supports unrooting? I appreciate all of your help and I'm quite excited to root my Optimus One.

Your backup will appear as a folder on the root of your sdcard (/clockworkmod/folder with the date of your backup). You need to save that folder on your pc just to be safe.
Yes, gingerbread supports unrooting

Thanks! Is it safe to do all the flashing/work from within ROM Manager? It just seems too easy to be true.
Also, is there a 'compatibility matrix' of some sort for the different ROMS and kernels available? Since I want GB, I'm planning on flashing Mik's CM7 mod. Is Franco's kernel compatible with that?

I say it's pretty safe. As I said, worked like a charm for me.
mik_os's rom is flashable via clockworkmod recovery and compatible with franco.kernel (bfs version).
If you are interested in a froyo stock rom with just the root and a performant kernel like franco's one, I could cook a rom for you...

Thanks. I was able to gain root as well as install CWM. I'm currently backing up my current ROM. Now I'm not sure if this is a stupid question but when I install a custom ROM, wouldn't that overwrite CWM? How do I go back to recovery then, say, to reflash my original ROM?
Flashing a rom through recovery does not overwrite the recovery.
And you can always boot into recovery by pressing and holding home+volume down+power when the phone is off till the recovery menu boots.

I'm just about to flash my first custom ROM. It's all quite clear up to this point. I'm not so sure about the kernel though. Is it all done via the Recovery console? Which options/commands should I take? And what about the ZRAM initializer?

For flashing rom : wipe everything, partition SD card only of you want to use a2sd or data2sd (check ciaox's REPO thread for more info about these two) and then choose flash from zip. If you are wiping battery stats then do it when you are fully charged.
For flashing kernel : wipe cache, dalvik cache and battery stats. No need to partition SD card.
EDIT: yes you need to flash zram initialiser. Keep in mind to flash Cfs version for froyo and bfs version for gb roms. Also always reboot between multiple flashes.

ClockworkMod for Samsung Galaxy 5

ClockworkMod Recovery for Samsung Galaxy 5
Current release - v0.7 - 6 January 2012 [CWM Ver. 5.0.2.7]
What is ClockworkMod Recovery? From AddictiveTips:
ClockworkMod – also known as Clockwork and CWM – is a custom recovery for Android phones and tablets that allows you to perform several advanced recovery, restoration, installation and maintenance operations on your Android device that aren’t possible with the stock recovery.

What does it mean for us Galaxy 5 users? Apart from all the goodies like backup, restore and SD card partitioning, the biggest thing is this: Odin is no longer needed to flash new ROMs!
FAQ:
Will this overwrite my current ROM? No, it only replaces the (horrible) Samsung recovery partition. The rest of your system will remain untouched.
Why don't you support dual filesystems in one package? ClockworkMod doesn't support multiple filesystems properly. I can create a version that can read EXT4 and RFS, but it cannot reformat partitions as RFS.
Can I use this to flash regular .tar files in the same way as Odin? No. ClockworkMod uses a completely different (and better) method to update ROMs. The good news, however, is that with a little bit of work, older ROMs can be re-packed in this new .zip update format.
Which ROM packages can be used with ClockworkMod? So far we have my CyanogenMod port and the Motafoca Froyo 2.0.9 ClockworkMod Edition re-release. However, in the future, all ROMS (custom and stock) be made compatible with a little effort.
Installation - Odin Method (tar):
Use this method if you have never flashed ClockworkMod recovery to your phone before.
Download the latest tar release using the link(s) below. Do not extract any files from the .tar file.
Flash the .tar file via Odin using the regular "One Package" procedure. If you need help, consult the relevant wiki page.
Your phone should now automatically reboot into ClockworkMod. Enjoy!
Installation - ClockworkMod method (zip):
Use this method if you already have ClockworkMod installed, and you wish to update the version that already exists on your phone.
Download the latest zip release using the link(s) below.
Transfer the .zip file to your SD card. Do not extract the .zip file - only copy it.
Reboot into ClockworkMod, choose the option Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard. Select the current release, and confirm the update by selecting Yes. Reboot and enjoy!
Usage:
ClockworkMod Recovery replaces the old "Samsung Recovery Utils for BML" recovery partition, and you can access it in the same ways as before: either via adb reboot recovery, or in the case of CyanogenMod, by choosing Recovery from the Reboot menu.
Once you've entered ClockworkMod Recovery, you will be presented with several options (some familiar, some not). I won't try to explain all of the options, as there are better guides on the internet (example: the AddictiveTips site above). However, these are the ones you should really know about:
Wipe data/factory reset - same as before
Wipe cache partition - same as before
Install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard - this is the new method you will be using to flash ROMs and update packages
Backup & restore - this menu lets you perform a full backup or restore of your boot, /cache, /data/ & app2sd partition (which is compatible with mad2sd)
Mounts & storage -> mount USB storage - this lets you enable UMS mode to copy update packages (if you forgot to transfer before rebooting into recovery)
Advanced -> partition SD card - this lets you easily partition your SD card for use with mad2sd or any third-party app2sd solutions. It lets you select the size for the EXT4 partition as well as swap. MAKE SURE TO BACKUP ALL DATA ON YOUR CARD BEFORE USING THIS OPTION.
Important Notes:
If you flash any older ROMs (such as stock, Motafoca 2.0.9.x, DashBlack 2.x, or even my CyanogenMod versions before 0.7) that already contain a recovery.img file, ClockworkMod will be overwritten by the older Samsung Recovery. If this happens, you can simply re-flash ClockworkMod via Odin again. Future ROMs (including v0.7) will not overwrite ClockworkMod in this way.
Changelog:
[CWM Ver. 5.0.2.7] v0.7 tar - 6 January 2012
Updated to version 5.0.2.7
Rebuilt using latest source, and verified to work properly.
Advanced Restore function should now work properly.
[CWM Ver. 5.0.2.6] v0.6 tar - 7 November 2011
Updated to version 5.0.2.6
This is the official ClockworkMod build (compatible with ROM Manager) in tar format. If you have an older version installed, you can install this update via ROM Manager directly.
[CWM Ver. 4.0.1.5] v0.5 tar | v0.5 zip - 21 August 2011
Updated to version 4.0.1.5.
Kernel: rebuilt using gcc 4.3.3 (more reliable).
Improved compatibility with RFS. This version can read and backup RFS partitions, but cannot yet restore backups properly. More work is needed upstream for full RFS support.
[CWM Ver. 4.0.1.4] v0.4 tar | v0.4 zip - 26 July 2011
Updated to version 4.0.1.4.
Kernel: reverted to more stable version. Should fix problems with failed backup/installs.
This update is highly recommended if you are using versions v0.2-v0.3.
[CWM Ver. 4.0.1.0] v0.3 tar | v0.3 zip - 19 July 2011
Updated to version 4.0.1.0.
[CWM Ver. 4.0.0.8] v0.2 tar | v0.2 zip - 10 July 2011
Updated source to .8 release.
Replaced CodeAurora kernel with new Samsung Mini/Ace kernel - fixes USB & general stability problems.
Small improvements to flashing code.
[CWM Ver. 4.0.0.5] v0.1 tar - 2 July 2011
First release. Only supports EXT4 for now. Can be flashed to any ROM version, but you can only backup ROMs which use EXT4 (Cyanogen, recent MadTeam releases).
RFS version (for stock ROMs only, don't expect constant updates): v0.4-RFS tar | v0.4-RFS zip
Note: the 0.4 RFS version is not working fully - it cannot reformat partitions from EXT4 to RFS format. If you only use stock roms, this will not be a problem, but if you switch between custom and stock ROMs, it will cause issues. Please wait for the next release for this to be fixed.

It's funny when people say "with all due respect" but don't really mean it.
CyanogenMod is packaged in zip format. I repackaged Motafoca's Froyo 2.0.9 rom recently, and now that we have a separate RFS version of ClockworkMod, it is now possible to repackage stock ROMs in zip format. It's just a matter of somebody spending 10 minutes to go through the process of converting and then uploading.
This is a quick & dirty way to repackage a ROM: http://www.madteam.co/forum/support-7/how-can-i-convert-a-tar-for-odin-to-a-cwm's-zip/

Hi Subpyske:
I am running the Froyo 2.2 Samsung version in my Galaxy 5. It was downloaded from the XDA only.
I did try to install the CMW using ODIN, it had prompted me to add the Ops File. For which I used the same "EUROPA_v1.0.ops" that I had used for porting Froyo.
I did get a Pass (blue) status in ODIN, I thought I will check if the CMW is installed properly, started my phone in the Safe mode.
But I am still getting the image of Android man working not the CMW screen.
Can you let me know where I have gone wrong?
Please help

That is the bootloader not the recovery partition.
Usage:
ClockworkMod Recovery replaces the old "Samsung Recovery Utils for BML" recovery partition, and you can access it in the same ways as before: either via adb reboot recovery, or in the case of CyanogenMod, by choosing Recovery from the Reboot menu.

i was flashing my nephew's phone.
i data wiped his phone and i'm stuck in boot loop as you mentioned.
What should i do?
Also, you said i should boot normally and then to recovery...how to boot in recovery?
Should i reboot the system when i get pass screen or i can do before that(i did before the pass screen)?
ROM - I5500LAROJP2.tar (the folder says I5500LUYJP2)
Clockwork - ClockworkMod-Galaxy5-v0.4-RFS
I followed the procedure by using ODIN and the RFS. It booted into Clockwork recovery and then I rebooted the device. How can I check if it's installed?
I seem to have an issue since I did this. I haven't been able to install or update from the Market. It says "Download starting" then "Download paused" then it just stops.
I'm not sure if it's the recovery or not. I didn't do anything else to the phone during this period.
Any help would be great.

[RECOVERY][06.27.12] Three finger bootloop breaker [CWM4, CWM5 & CWM6]

I really don't know who to credit for this, so if your reading this Credits to you! Koush & CM obviously too!
I repacked CWM4 & CWM5 to solve the three finger recovery loop dilemma...
Flash cwm4-repack after each ROM flash to solve the three finger boot loop issue.
If you three fingered and need to flash a CM7 based ROM, you can simply wipe data and proceed to flash. If you need to flash a CM9 based ROM, simply flash aokp-cm9-recovery first, then go to advanced/reboot recovery to reboot to the updated recovery. From there wipe and flash your chosen CM9 ROM. (Always Remember to flash cwm4-repack directly after to break the recovery loop..)
When you reboot it may take you to recovery, just choose reboot now and your ROM should continue booting!
With these two zips and your chosen ROM, you should be able to flash on the go again without fear or break your existing install!
Update:
It seems most of the newer CM7 builds will require the same procedure as flashing a CM9 ROM.. (flash aokp-cm9-recovery first, then go to advanced/reboot recovery to reboot to the updated recovery. From there wipe and flash your chosen CM7 rom...)(Always Remember to flash cwm4-repack directly after to break the recovery loop..)
I have not tested any of the above combinations with twrp! Use at your own Risk! I also recall twrp having something about an injection feature of some kind that may be useful for that...
06/27/12
How to use these to upgrade from stock/rooted stock to ICS Rom of choice!
If pure stock you obviously need a CWM recovery installed so odin/heimdall cwm all or cwm4 fix!
Reboot recovery
wipe data
flash cwm4fix-no_assert
reboot
wait until samsung logo blinks, then pull battery
three finger into recovery
wipe again to be safe
install ICS Rom of choice
It will reboot twice, once to update recovery and proceed installing and once more when it's done!
09/30/12 (Mainly a JellyBean reference)
Easily switch between ROMS and the different partition layouts!
Reboot to recovery and flash cwm4-fix, power the phone down (might need to pull battery) and three finger back into recovery!
Wipe data, flash chosen GB,ICS, or any partion JB ROM from any order! (ie: downgrade or upgrade)

so what about saving yourself from a loop? like if I download this and then three finger into recovery. then flash this, what happens?

If you download, power off, three finger and flash cwm4-repack and reboot it should break the boot loop and continue booting your ROM (However sometimes when updating the recovery it will automatically reboot to recovery, reboot now if this happens). Assuming ICS...
Also if you power down, three finger, do nothing and reboot, your phone will actually reboot! Assuming you already flashed cwm4-repack...
Not to sound dirty but I was three fingering all day while doing yard work...
Back n forth from CM7,CM9 & AOKP Based!

Sorry....never went back to twrp. With the new devil kernal, I've been playing too much to want to try anything different. On a side note, I went back to the glitch kernal this morning (experiment) and had issues with trying to get the Rom to load and then actually had to go the three fingered route. This worked great once I followed your directions EXACTLY!
Note to anyone else.....if you are flashing a Rom that requires gapps, make sure you flash the cwm-4 repack right after the Rom....BEFORE the gapps. Loop doesn't break if you try to slip the gapps in there too soon I found.
WOW this will be super helpful.
what does it take to compile roms to be installed via CWM 4 or CWM 5 ?

Not sure exactly what your asking but typically you would compile cm7 for cwm4 and cm9 for cwm5!
Or the answer for exactly how I read this:

It doesn't work for latest AOKP. Bootloops on samsung logo after flashing rom. I've had to go back and do it like always (CM9 b2 first).

Well, my apologies for mis-leading. However I did just repeat the above steps exactly, coming from Geewiz EH03 to a today built build 40! Perhaps a limitation against pure stock?
If this was stock and you are put in the position again, you could try flashing a non stock kernel after a odin/heimdall of cwm of course! I suppose this could be an issue... Maybe?
so, I've been searching around and apparently haven't found the right search term.
Why does the 3 finger boot screw things up in cwm 5?
How does one cold start into the recovery? I finally got ics on my trusty fascinate.

I'm not really sure! I was going to attempt a look but a short search came up empty for some older sources.
Speaking of, they need a smiley that is bashing his head against a wall in shame..
Clearly, Credits for this go to Koush! (And queue the above mentioned smiley)

LMAO!! Nice! And good guide btw, I still have no idea why three fingering does that :/

It seems with the recovery wipe repack method, i get all the way to the point of the rom booting up, but it will just sit there and play the boot animation over and over and over.... how long is it supposed to take? I'm beginning to think i'm going to have to odin... ugh!

Technically it isn't needed! CWM4 is all I have been using for JB so far. Works perfect to break the 3 finger curse and also to downgrade the recovery for better JB flashing in some scenario's.
Truth be told I only need heimdall now once in a blue moon and that is always because of something I'm trying. :silly:
I still posted it though as I figure it may come in handy at some point or at least have an odin/heimdall alternative. In OP for those in seeking...
Also while getting this together for you guys, I noticed the files in the OP are pushing close to a 1,000 downloads. Yet only 9 people have thanked me.
Has this not been useful? Just Curious...

Flashing Slim ICS

I have been trying to flash Slim ICS on my SGS2 for over an hour without success.
What happens is that when i choose the base zip it always says no zImage found and simply stops trying.
I've followed the instructions carefully.
Phone is rooted, CWM installed properly, Wipe/Format prior to flashing, files placed in external SD root, downloaded the correct files from Slim ICS website.
After the first failed attempt, i googled and searched all over XDA Forums but nothing worked.
I've tried flashing directly from the CWM Recovery Menu and the APP itself (Flash Kernel).
What i am doing wrong?
Currently my phone has the LPG firmware from the official firmwares thread.

hey dude try placing the Slim ICs zip file on ur internal sdcard then reboot 2 recovery and from there choose install zip from internal sdcard and flash and see
where're u coming from?
I've done successful for my just first ROM flashing experience when upgrading SGS2 from GB 2.3.3 to Official ICS DXLP7 with Odin 1.85 & now i've Slim it by Krarvind Rom..
I dunno if ur phone is coming from GB or ICS
If from GB better flash it w/ Odin 1.85 first w/ official ICS ROM (get it from Sammobile.com), wipe all data (cache, dalvik, factory & battery stat) - format system - then just can flash from CWM w/ Slim ICS
#don't forget2press thanks#

As already stated try placing the base on your internal SD as I don't know what version of CWM you have but some have issues with flashing from the external. You can't use the CWM app to flash the ROM as a kernel as it is not the same and there is no zimage included as AOSP ROM's are different and use boot.img for the kernel.
Once you have the base, I9100 essentials and Slim Gapps on your internal SD, boot into CWM and do the following:
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. In mounts and storage - format /system
3. In advanced menu - Wipe dalvik
4. Find your base.zip on your internal SD and flash that
5. Repeat step 4 again as it doesn't flash first time
6. Flash essentials.zip
7. Flash Slim Gapps.zip if you want all the important Google apps
8. Reboot to system
That should be it and you shouldn't have any issues. If you do have issues then it may be bootloader related as newer ICS bootloaders sometimes have issues flashing CM9/AOSP ROM's. Hopefully you don't have that issue though.

No worries just happens that I'm the S2 beta tester for Slim ICS hopefully all will go well for you. When you're all set up don't forget to check out the feature guide which gives you an overview of the main features of the current and next version coming soon (link in post 2 of the thread or my sig).

First time rooting + flasing Rom (CM 9 or 10?)

Hey all,
I'm happy with my Tab 10.1 but it can be sluggish and so I decided to root it and install some kind of rom.
For rooting I found this guide on here which seems pretty simpel and useful.
But now comes the real question how do I proceed after this to instal a rom. Which one do I choose?
Is CM10 stable enough for me to try it, or should I go for stock 4.0.4?
And is there a proper guide on how to instal this?
Thanks

About a week ago I flashed my P7510 (Wi-Fi) with this rom cm-10-20120728-EXPERIMENTAL-p3, I had all kind of issues, screen rotation, on the lock screen stating its charging while the battery stated its discharging even connect to the wall, etc.
I was able to go back to the backup I took before I flashed the tab, but now every time I try to flash the tab to a newer rom I get the following error:

Getprop (“Ro.product.device”) = =”p4wifi”
E: error in /SDCARD/ 31-07-12-13-30-jellybean-alpha-p4wifi-sig

Installation aborted.
After doing a wipe of the cache and data I also get the following error:
E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advace.

I went with the UK ICS rom, seems to be working fine.
Otherwise you can follow this I RECOMMAND YOU CM9 MORE STABLE THAN CM10:
- Make a new download of the ROM from pershoot droidbasement
- Download the last CWM (recovery file)
- Download Gapps from goo.im
> Copy ROM and Gapps on the Tablet
> Flash the CWM with Odin 1.85 and USB cable (In PDA field)
> Boot in recovery mod (YOU SHOULD MAKE A FULL WIPE / FACTORY at this Step if you have backup of your datas otherwise tablet should freeze at boot animation)
> Choose install zip from sdcard
> Select the zip ROM and confirm the update
> Choose again install zip from sdcard
> Select the gapps zip and confirm update
> Return to the first menu of CWM and reboot system
Enjoy !

Which ROM you choose really is up to you - that's the beautiful thing about Android. Really, the sky's the limit! Well...what's available is the limit but you know what I'm saying
Do your research on the threads under Android Development - all the ROMs that are available for HC, ICS, JB, etc. Think about what YOU want out of your tablet...are you wanting to be on the cutting edge of development where you want an experimental JB that may have some bugs in it, or do you want something super stable and creamy smooth like a custom HC? Or, do you just want to speed up your stock ROM with a custom kernel?
There's SO much on here to explore. It's taken me two weeks just to get to a point where I'm comfortable flashing! I'm running CM10 right now but have been through a couple of other ROMs. Task650's Galaxy Task 14 is a great ROM too.
It's always a good idea to take a Nandroid backup once you go any further...for example I have a Nandroid backup of my unrooted image so to get back to stock I can just restore to that.
Basically when you're ready you just download the ROM of your choosing to your tab (and any required supplementary files - READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON EACH THREAD VERY CAREFULLY). Reboot into recovery, take a backup, and follow the instructions given by the developer TO THE LETTER for installing the ROM. I highly recommend doing a full wipe of your device (cache partition, data/factory reset, Dalvik cache) before installing any new ROM to ensure you don't run into any issues.
You have all the support you need on this forum to resolve any issue you may have - just make sure you search the threads DILIGENTLY before asking questions, and post questions in the appropriate place - you should be fine!! GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!!
I completely agree with you ... very good post!
I said CM9 because the tablet is recent and it was nice to see the result with this rom ...

Yes you can also follow this with cm9 or cm10, if you take the recovery file in the same folder than the rom (you should test cm9 first because more stable ... but it's my advice)
