I lost my signal now i cant get 4g back on only 3g i noticed in network mode it was on global instead of lte/cdma so i switched it to that but that didnt work either any suggestions ?
Well it just came back on by itself after like 15 minutes of 3g idk weird

I have had this happen to me on all 4g phones i have owned(GNex, iPhone 5, GNote 2). I just put the phone into airplane mode and wait till the bars go away and it shows the plane then turn airplane mode off and it goes back to 4g. Probably happened to me a half dozen times.

I was using Phone Info from the app store and I manually set it to cdma prl auto to force 3g in a non 4G area. Now I can't revert it. Any ideas?

For the past 3-4 hours, my TB has shown 3-4 bars of signal but there is no 4g or 3g symbol next to the bars. When I go to surf the web or even do anything else it just doesnt load. Is the network down or what? I have a friend next to me with a droid 2 and his service is working fine so I'm wondering whats wrong.
Try putting it in Airplane mode, then back out.

Hmm, I've had a similar problem since late last night/early this morning. If I'm on 3G I have 3-4 bars but never get an active 3G connection. I can however switch to LTE only and after a couple reboots get 4G. I've tried toggling airplane and mobile data but that didn't help at all. Are you in North Eastern Florida by chance? The Thunderbolt uses a different kind of 3G from other 3G phones so it's entirely possible for us to not have 3G when other people do.
One time that happened to me , I took out my SIM card , put it back in and rebooted . After that I had a signal.

Currently I'm at work and I dont know the password here so no wifi. But I do have it at home. I'll try your sim card trick and see if that works

I had the same problem. I reset down to stock rom s-on. I did anything and everything. Since my wife has the same phone and hers had data symbol but mine didn't. But 24 hours later it went back on.... They already sent me a replacement but I sent it back. My was new. So I would suggest waiting 24 hours.

yeah, forgot to say mine is running stock, not rooted. still nothing.im gonna go to the verizon store and see whats up

They'll mostlikely give you another one like they did mine. But like I said it came back on 24 hours later plus when i pull the battery and first boot up ill get 1x then when 3g pops I get no data icon.
I even swap my sim to my wife's tbolt and works great. Good luck

So I have been noticing this pop up more so with a consistent manner. At work I can keep a strong lte signal all day. I can stream any music from Google or tune in or slacker. The minute I try YouTube it forces me down to 3g after a couple of minutes.
Is there some sort of bandwidth limit for lte? After I get out of YouTube it will pop back to lte signal. Speed test shows like 7 down 4 up on average so it's not like i don't have enough speed.

Could it be when your in landscape holding it...Your hand blocks the LTE antenna.
I wish that was the case but I am not touching the phone. It's on the kickstand most of the day.

I am sick and tired of the freaking LTE service, I am in San Antonio, and its crazy, sometimes it wont even connect to any data signal, I miss work emails etc, then as soon as I open Gmail or wake the phone, it connects to 3G, but its playing all day long 4G, 3G, 1X, over and over again... you get a strong 4G signal and as soon as you start enjoying it BAM it switches down to 3G, you do the whole Airplane mode on/off, and you get 4G again, then you start doing something and BAM back to 3G....
is there any way, anyone, to force it to stay on 4G? like way in the back end? or something? this sucks
Edit: you can force it in the EPST but if you set it to LTE only, you dont get phone calls or text msgs.... at least I dont...

I was wifi tethering to a computer at work today when suddenly, I no longer could load Web pages. The computer still showed connected to my phone. After further inspection, my bars had turned grey (which typically means no data on my phone). I toggled airplane mode numerous times, rebooted, did a battery and SIM card pull, flashed a different ROM, etc. I even called Verizon Tech support (didn't tell them I'm rooted). I switched to CDMA only mode, and I can get data back. When I go back to LTE/CDMA mode and it tries to connect to 4G, I have about 5 seconds of true data (still grey bars) then it goes dead again. Even stranger, I have data arrows flashing as if it's transferring data while I'm on 4G. I'm baffled and any advice or ideas are certainly welcomed. Thanks in advance!
Sounds like a Verizon issue to me. You can call them over and over and they will never admit there is a problem with the network but it will strangely correct itself usually within a couple of days.

Hi everyone, I'm new to AT&T and HTC. I'm confused on how the networks should switch.
The area I'm in doesn't have LTE yet so lets leave this out of this
I'm having a signal issue at work. Where I sit I get 3 sometimes 2 bars (-97 to -101dBM) on the 4G network. But data doesnt work. When I use the browser it say error connecting to network and I when I run speed test it either doesnt find a tower or just sits on ping test.
When I look at mobile network type it keeps flipping between HSDPA and HSPAP. I've never see the phone change to the edge or G network unless my battery is almost dead.
Does this sound right or could I have a messed up radio? It does work great when the signal is in the -70s.
Please help. Wondering if my phone is messed up. It is still stock, locked bootloader, unrooted at the moment.

To turn off LTE, open dialer, type in "*#*#4636#*#*", then click "phone info", you will see "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" in the middle of the setting page. Switch to "WCDMA preferred" to use only 3G without LTE. You can also choose "GSM" to use only edge network.
Is there not an App or Widget that can toggle LTE and Edge networks?
Anyone else getting this error? It happens to me at least one a day. A quick reboot makes it disappear but I'd like to know what's causing it or how to turn it off.

Off and on all day. I at first thought it was when my phone was auto switching from WIFI to mobile data but I have that disabled.
I then thought that perhaps it was occurring when switching from 3G to 4GLTE, but honestly, it appears that it can happen at any time.
Some times it gets "stuck". More often then not it will within a minute or two clear itself.
Yeah I dont have connections optimizer or 4G enabled. It just makes me think something is wrong. I guess I could remove the sim and pop it back in and see if it happens still.

Yep sprint is wrong with it .... mine gets the ehrpd error and it will then connect to evdo but it happens to Others and my wife's too ... I was told it's because of the work on towers but we've been told that a million times lol

I've experienced the same thing every now and then. I suspect it's when the data is switching from 3 to 4G.
