Weird problem with my note. It will randomly start roaming and lose data connection. This is extremely often, like every few minutes when I'm using data. I have Padawan 6 and the T989UVLC8 radio. Data roaming is turned off. Am I doing something wrong or need to find a different combination, anyone else having a roaming problem on T-Mobile? Thanks.
Well fixed my own problem. Flashed the SGH-I717-UCLF6BS ROM along with the Official TMo ICS RADIO_NOTE baseband and it's all running like butter. Solid 4G, doesn't roam and data picks up quick from idle. Will report if anything weird happens.

Hi guys, I recently flashed BAMF1.8 and MR2. It was working pretty well yesterday, but today I have no 4G at all and 3G seems to drop in and out at random. Sometimes, I don't even have 1x. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it a network issue or did I royally screw something up? Thanks!
im having the same problem i was using bamf sense 3.0 RC4 for a few days nd my mobile just stopped working. two days of flashing roms and radios i still got nothing verizon gave me a new sim nd still nothing i havent tried going back to stock, is that what i should do nd try to get a new phone? after trying to activate my phone online i have 1x now but i did have a few minutes of 3g/4g then nothing again HELP PLEASE!!!
I saw this same exact issue on Das BAMF Gingerstripped and it was really freaking annoying. The fastest solution was a reboot, but it was possible to wait it out until data comes back.
Another thing I started to play with before I flashed to CM7 was using Plane mode as a way to re-engage Mobile Networks (3G + 4G) to get data back. It worked sometimes, but other times nothing. So far running about 24 hours on CM7 and have not had this issue yet, where as on Gingerstripped BAMF I was seeing this problem daily.
I also just flashed the newest radio (1.70) and will see how that works. I'm hoping I just don't see this issue again at all, don't care if its due to CM7 or the radio. I just don't want to deal with it anymore.
Going to airplane mode and back didn't do anything. I guess its a problem with my phone then.
After disabling LTE completely, my phone works perfectly on 3G. Does anyone else in LA have 4G issues? I've flashed a bunch of roms and radios to no avail. I just want to know if I should keep tinkering or sleep on it. Thanks!

try going to a verizon store and see if their 4G devices work properly. at least that'll let you know if the network has issues.

I've had no problems with 4g in northwest LA today. I'm Vanilla Bean's latest release on a froyo radio (can't remember which one, but it isn't the one that was leaked today)
I'm in ZIP 90007 and what's been happening is my phone seems to be connecting to 4G, but it doesn't work and just sits there. =\

It's a shame that I feel like I can get better support here at XDA rather than ATT but I wanted to try some troubleshoots before I call them with my issue. I noticed a week ago that my data connection will drop after switching from wifi. It will turn back on if i restart my phone or turn airplane mode on and off but eventually it will go away completely not even throttled (I have unlimitted lte data plan too). I was on Saurom with the att fix but then switched to the unofficial rom and it still does it. My APN looks correct so I'm wondering if there's something wrong with my phone. Any troubleshooting ideas?
I'm not sure, but did u check the imei #. This happened to me once before, and after calling AT&T they said I had the wrong imei. It's a long shot but you can try it.

Well I called ATT and what they said was that my sim wasn't registered in their system. The lady didn't even know how I was receiving a data signal at all because she couldn't find my profile. Bottom line is that they are sending me another sim card and that should prevent my data drops.

I've not seen this posted anywhere in the i717 part of the forms, and felt like it should be OK to post this.
Ever since I got my Galaxy Note from Rogers, I keep getting sporadic data connectivity issues. LTE data will work great, but if I set my phone down (such as when I am at work) and don't touch it for several hours, by the time I return the phone has no data connection.
However the status bar shows that I have full bars connected to LTE, yet when I open a browser or try to use the Play Store, it keeps saying I have no data connection.
This problem occurs on stock, and with custom roms, currently I am using the latest stable release of CM9 Quincyatt.
Has anyone else run into this problem (with Rogers or any other provider that offers LTE with the sgh-i717)? If so, is there anything I can do to mitigate this issue, currently the only fix I've is to simply reboot the phone. This seems to fix the problem, allowing me to access data until the next lengthy period of inactivity. Then of course after several hours of inactivity, when I go to use it again data will once again be dead (even though the phone reports I have a strong signal).
have you tried this Rogers rux lf4 modem? I've been having great results with the bell modem

I've been having a lot of issues today with my signal strength dropping to where it's become unusable. I have an AT&T US Atrix 4G. The signal strength is normally very strong, and is now barely showing 1 bar in and out. I'm also have data issues where I can not connect to HSPA normally.
I did update to the leaked ICS last night, and have reflashed and wiped several times. Since then, I have went back to GB 4.5.91. I am still having the problem back on GB. I'm using radio 37P.
One thing that I originally did not think had any bearing on this issue was I did hurl the phone across the room this morning (landed on carpet) as my phone kept rebooting during calls on me. I opened up the phone to see if anything was noticeably disconnected and it looks like the cord is still okay.
Is there anything else besides the radio that could be causing me the grief? Anything that I can try besides erasing the radio and re-flashing? Anything with any settings? APN settings? I reset the APN settings to default and I see the 4 AT&T APNs load.

I clean flashed CloudyG3 1.2 this weekend. Didn't have any issues at all and I enjoy the ROM.
Came into work (about 15 minutes from my house that has 4G) and I get an error stating that roaming data is turned off and that I need to turn it on, but costly data rates may apply.
When I turn it on, it goes to 3G, with the "R" symbol, presumably for roaming.
In the past, I would typically swap back and forth from 3G to 4G, depending on where I'm at while working.
Is this a ROM issue? Modem issue? Is this just something to not even worry about? Is there a fix?

is a known issue with Cloudy Rom but you could try JasmineRom_v3.0,that has o issue....

VS985 users should stop reporting the roaming issue, it's a known issue when using international base. And I dont know why its so much a trouble for u guys bc you just need to tick Data Roaming enable, it's not really roaming. Btw VZW does give you free roaming in US anyway. Changing the build.prop just causing more issue.
If you guys cant live with that, so please ignore this ROM.
