Xperia Cosmic Flow live wallpaper - 7" Kindle Fire HD Themes and Apps

Hello,
I can not seem to get the Cosmic Flow live wallpaper to work on my Kindle HD. They install fine, but they do not show up anywhere. Even after I installed to system app wit the right permissions, it did not work. So does anyone have a working cosmic flow live wallpaper.
Thanks

I'm going to guess that you need a live wallpaper picker app to use any live wallpapers. I haven't tried this yet but that's probably a good place to start.

The live wallpaper picker apk is availiable in my post here. Instructions to install it are below the link. This should allow you to use any live wallpaper.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1953999
1) download LiveWallpapersPicker.apk
2) Make sure you have root access.
3) Install a application to manage files with root access (example Root Explorer).
4) Move the downloaded file to your Kindle Fire HD. (Remember where you place it).
5) Go into your system/App folder, and move the LiveWallpapersPicker.apk to this folder.
6) Change permissions on LiveWallpapersPicker.apk to rw-r-r.
7) Install Live Wallpapers from the Google Market, or Sideload them.

I actually just pulled LiveWallpapersPicker from an old Rom and dropped in system apps and boom it works. Your instructions are more thorough, lol.

Oil OK I will do that tomorrow since I lost root after the new update. Thanks guys.

Android 3.1 Wallpaper Directory

Hi,
how do i get access to the wallpaper directory. I would like to replace on my tablet the original wallpapers with custom ones. I do not want to crop or use the Gallery for wallpapers all the time.
My tablet is rooted and i have read somewhere that the directory should for the wallpaper should be
/Data/Data/Com.android.settings/Files
but somehow i cannot access. Every time i click data nothing happens.
Thanks
Just place your wallpapers on the sdcard and you can use them. I think the stock wallpapers are in the launcher apk. Some custom ROMs and DocRambone have taken the wallpapers out for optimization.
I believe they are in the framework-res.apk
system/framework/framwork-res.apk

THANK YOU for asking this question! I have been looking and searching for a way to find my wallpaper (with no success until I found your post). Your path worked for me.
My steps:
I used Solid Explorer as the file manager
Then using the toolbar on the right-hand side of the screen, I went to Jump > Device > System root.
I located the data folder and clicked on it. I was then prompted by Superuser for admin permissions.
I then proceeded to data/data/com.android.settings/files where I found a file called "wallpaper" (no file extension).
At this point I copied that file to my Pictures folder and added ".jpg" to the end of the file name.
Suddenly, there was that elusive, original file, of the photo I had been seeking for so long!
I had taken a trip out to the "sticks" to a cabin that my family owns. I had taken lots of pictures, but through the course of several events all of the pictures (save this one) had been completely lost. As a result this photo became very important and iconic to me. Thank you Internet, and thank you indianx for posting the question. I now have my picture back and secured.

Asus widget ports tested on CM9 TP

Per request Im posting some Asus native widgets:
Notes:
For email to work, copy: Email.apk, EmailWidget.apk and Exchange.apk into system/app dir OVERWRITING exisiting files(backup exisiting apks if you wish). Change permissions to rw-r-r. Reboot. Widget will appear under 'Widgets' section.
For date/time and weather to work, copy: weather.resized.ics.apk and DeskClock.apk into system/app folder. Change permissions to rw-r-r. Reboot. Widget will appear under 'Widgets' section.
For TaskManager to work, copy: taskmanager.apk into system/app folder. Change permissions to rw-r-r. Widget will appear under 'Widgets' section - no need to reboot for this one.
I have some more Asus native apps/widgets/wallpapers - if anyone wants let me know.
the rest:
Thanks for these. Would love to see the others please!
Cheers
Nice. I'm going to try these out when I get home.

I dont quiet get what you are saying. Are you saying you cant place the file in the system/app directory on your sd card?
With the exception of the emailwidget file, all the asus files moved smoothly into the system/app folder. Whenever I try and put the emailwidget file in, it says 'transfer failed'. As said, everything else is in the folder.

Hmm. Thats odd. If everything else moved fine, I dont see why that one wouldnt. Is that the only file that REPLACES another one? Maybe the original needs to be removed first. Back it up and delete it. Then try again.
I love xda.
I get what I want and share what I can do.
AsusTaskManager for dark backgrounds:

i can't get the email app to work....it wasn't installed so when I try to install this new one it says "not installed". That means the widget won't appear either =S
Try to install it with a root explorer like Rom Toolbox.
Paste it to system/app.

You don't really install it - get yourself some file explorer; 'root browser' is the best IMO. Then go to system/app and delete the 3 original email apks(back them up first if you want). Copy the 3 email apks attached to this post to system/app, change permissions on all 3 files to rw-r-r reboot and the email widget should be there.
I will post some more Asus stuff tomorrow. The thing I'm looking for is Asus quick settings status bar widget. If anyone has a port please upload.

i know we usually don't install this kind of stuff, but it won't work for any reason. the app doesn't even show up in the app drawer.
i pasted it into system/app and changed permissions like the instructions said. The weather and clock worked fine, the email wont =S
Hmmm the only thing I can think of is perhaps your explorer app makes a backup of original apk by default without overwriting the original - check if you have something like email-backup.apk in your system/app folder. Also see what the modified date says on those apks. Don't forget to reboot.

it works now, i installed the apk on a different ROM i'd made a nandroid of earlier, which is what i'll stick with.
PS: Would you do this with Sense widgets/apps aswell in the future?
here are a few more:
copy BatteryWidget.apk to your system/app folder, change permissions to rw-r-r, reboot.
Simply install dayscene apk
move to system/app

[How To] *Root Required* Flip Fonts On GS4

Ok since the flip fonts from the play store do not work properly... I looked around and found a way to get the flip fonts to work... I take no credit for any of the work shared in this thread... I'm just making it easy by putting some links in one spot... Must be rooted to give iFont permission to change the font... :highfive: Thank zsig in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252268&page=4 for his explination...

Ok, I managed to install custom fonts on my phone.
Here's how to:
1) Install the app iFont from the play store
2) Run the app (it should create a folder on your files) and then close it
3) Download font apk of your choice
4) Using a file manager place your custom font .apk file on the root of the iFont folder
5) Run iFont again, select the "Local" tab. Your font should be there. Select it and tap "Set".
The app may require you to reboot your phone. When you do, it's done.

[Q] Dumb wallpaper question

I'm currently using a wallpaper on my phone that was originally from a picture file that I manually copied onto the SD card and placed in a folder I specifically created for such background wallpapers. I don't want to lose the wallpaper, but as far as I can tell that file is no longer in the backgrounds folder, so I'm guessing that if I change the background or theme on my phone, it will disappear. Obviously, the file is somewhere on the phone since the background remains in use, but I can't find it.
So...can someone tell me how to determine the location of the file currently being used as the background wallpaper?
Thanks!
PS - I'm running CM10.1.3.

That app definitely brought up more graphic files than my previous ones, but I still wasn't able to find it. The good news is that I finally managed to locate the same background elsewhere on the Internet and re-downloaded it, so all is well. I'll keep playing with this app, though. Looks like it might come in handy. Thanks for your help!
