[Q] Anyway to make a backup of the rooted rom? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Now that we have a custom/rooted room available, is there anyway I can make a backup of it? I understand we can't have recovery firmware yet, but what about using the odin tool for backing up, is that possible?

Yes, I'm going to be trading my phone in for a grey one, and I've already done a lot of customization work that I'd like to not have to repeat... It's be nice if I could just image it to a new phone.

Need help with custom rom

Hello everyone,
I just switch to Verizon and grabbed note 2 for my first phone. On ATT all I had to do was run a program where it will unlock root and install cw all at once. Now I heard that for Verizon you have to do these individually, so I was wondering if someone can give me instruction on what to do step by step so I can use custom rom, kernel and etc. Thank you and I will really appreciate any kind of help!

You'll need to root your phone to be able to flash custom ROMs via Recovery, you can also install kernel such as Perseus or Siyah which allows you to overclock

Nandroid of stock 4.1.1

Does anyone have a ROM or Nandroid backup of a stock TW ROM?
I lost mine in an SD crash.
Thanks in advance.
Why not just download the odin download that imnuts posted in the android dev section? It's stock 4.1.1

I should have said a "Stock rooted TW ROM"
And I'll look at that thanks.
It would be better to just flash back to stock and get it that way. Everyones phone is different and it would definitely be a bad idea to flash someone elses nandroid. I still have my TW backup for my Note 2, but on my GS3 when I lost it it didnt really matter. If I had issues it was easy to use odin to flash back to stock and then use Tibu to reinstall my apps.

My apologies. I've been active on 3 or 4 forums at once lately and made a mistake, thank you very much for correcting it for me. :good:
Flash the stock package and then root it? Since it is the older pre-exploit patch firmware, you could even use one of the exynos abuse root methods.

No, you do not have to go back to stock. Just boot into your custom recovery, wipe data/cache, & install your new rom of choice.

This should go in the Question section.
But to answer your question, no you do not have to go back to stock. You do however need to do the wipes recommended (wipe data/factory reset, cache/dalvik).
Chocula beat me to it
Just to save you the headache for the future. I would definitely recommend reading up more about this before actually doing anything.

no i am not sure...
I'm guessing you weren't reading everything in whatever thread you downloaded from and flashed a ROM for another carrier. What ROM did you flash? And you did make a backup before you flashed it, right?

If you made a backup you should restore and see if that fixes the issue. If you havent made a backup od your efs you're going to have to find qpst tool and manually restore your imei. If im wrong for posting about qpst then im sorry to xda and the moderators. But you'll need to t research the software and the proper numbers to dial for modifying your info. Your imei is located beneath the battery so go ahead and write it down if you don't have a backup
