Yeah I had to hunt this down the other day. I'm sure someone will need it . I was shocked that this amazing phone wouldn't play a freaking flash video stock.

It's not that it won't play stock, it's because it is being phased out by Adobe. They canned it from the Market sometime in August and will no longer be making regular updates to it, in order to progress movement over to HTML5 content.

Adobe has every version on their website. http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

well if it will play a flash video out of the box then why do we need Adobe

I know it wont work with the build of chrome but is there anything we might be able to mod or adapt so chrome will work with it? Not a developer at all, so sorry if this question is blatently stupid lol. Thanks!

Actually, Adobe and Samsung made an agreement to keep Flash updated for the Galaxy S3, which also means for the Galaxy Note 2 as well since they have almost identical hardware/software. Flash was just updated again a couple weeks ago to .34. I've been using .29 on my devices.
And even though the latest Flash versions are only for the S3, they will work on most any device running Jellybean.
The following thread is keeping updated with the latest versions of Flash, along with text and video tutorials on how to install:

if someone mention the version.....
V1.3 was the previous one that worked on GT10.1. The latest is 1.4, it is on the market and it installs fine on the GT10.1 -
IF you do not have a custom v1.3(like me) installed before. Uninstall the one you have and market wil install 1.4 for you.
I do not care what Androidspin says.......it works fine!

I'm always rooted
But root shouldn't matter considering a month or so ago when 1.3 came out in the market, i used tibu to force netflix to attach to market and it would not let me install or update then. Now it comes up and installs with no problems. The screenshot I took was after I uninstalled netflix from my tab and used the market on my tab to install new version.
That's why I think it's for wifi only atm.

I've found that quite a few games are failing on the Note. Apparently the Note is being reported to the app as being a Tablet, and so they're throwing that incompatible notice... which sucks obviously.

you could root the phone and change the build.prop file to reflect the Note as like an HTC Vision or something, then everything should work.

Will give it shot then, thanks. I'm rooted but haven't messed with anything like that yet, I'll post my results.
Edit - I've changed the build.prop but it must be incorrect in some way. After a reboot, I can see Modern Combat 3 and Real Racing 2 in the Market. I've downloaded them both but neither work. For MC3 I get "This game is not compatible with this device" message and for RR2 it won't even load.

Did you modify your international Note at all to get it working?
I downloaded MC3 and Real Soccer 2012 both on my phone and they both said "Incompatible request refund" on start up and wouldn't download the files.
So i did some editing on the build.prop. I changed ro.product.model, ro.product.device, and ro.product.name all to GT-N7000. (GT-N7000 is the international note if you didn't realize.) Go figure, after making the change and rebooting, I launched the game and it downloaded all the files needed. And now, the game runs flawlessly.
This is on a less than 2 week old rooted AT&T Galaxy Note with 2.36 Saurom NOT overclocked but it should work on any AT&T Galaxy Note as long as your rooted.
Try it!

You have no clue. There is MANY people outside the USA using this phone. Trust me... I have many of those using my ROM.
From experience, installing different versions of the Play Store to your device besides the one shipped with your device might lead to problems down the road like not being able to purchase things. That might not be the case with this particular build, but if anyone's on the fence, it might be wise to hold off until Google pushes this version of the Play Store out to everyone (you know it'll happen).
Its pretty much the same thing.

That's only partially correct. There might be security patches (maybe) but that's it. The app will even be removed from the Play Store later this year. So no updates to fix compatibility with new OS versions. That means no Flash on Jelly Bean.

That's very bad news especially for the sgs3. Flash is very buggy on this phone and won't be fixed. When it does work the performance is amazing though. You don't even feel any slowdown when flash is enabled.
What is there reason? It's got 100 million + downloads.. people want flash. Ad a few ads or whatever to make it profitable

Most probably because google want to drop support for flash. So they stopped support in advance. Its a pity because flash works perfectly in the last 2 generations of android smartphones and provided a truly desktop internet experience. Now that android does not support flash browsing is not anymore capable than ios anymore.
Yeah lots of people will probably respond with something about html5 being gazillion time better than flash comments but you know what? html5 performance sucks even worse than flash. Youtube html 5 videos perform poorly even on my i7 desktop pc. So what if html 5 is the future? This has been repeated over and over for the past 3 years but guess what? Today flash is still the more widely used format. I want to view my content now not in the uncertain future.
They said the same about ICS. I'd ignore the comment, the writer is probably just doing some PR to suck up to Apple.

This article compares flash vs html 5 performance. Flash came out on top. While that was back in 2010, I tested it today on my galaxy S3 and flash is still much faster than html5. 25fps vs 48fps.
HTML5 performance suck balls even on my Desktop. Tried all the browsers, many demos work badly. Buggy or not, flash is better right now.
HTML5 videos doesn't even play on the Vimeo desktop page while flash worked perfectly.

There is nothing to do with custom rom.I dont know only for aosp rom, but with custom Samsung rom the game keep says that is incompatible.
Maybe the users who runnning max payne using a moddified id in build.prop (i havent test it yet)?
the same happened with MC3, GTA 3 etc.
The solution I found with MC3 (when it was not yet free on Sam Apps and not yet "compatible" with S3) is to buy it direct on Gameloft website and they will send you a sms with a link to a direct APK download.
Whereas the above worked with Gameloft, it did not work with Rockstar games for GTA 3. I contacted the support and they just said: yeah its not working with your phone (they redirected me to a page with a list of compatible devices and S3 was not on there). Found the APK then in other sources (will not disclose here due to forum rules), whereas I would be more than willing to pay.

Well, as someone has already said, you can only download it when you are on an AOSP ROM (or, at least, it has worked for me on CM9). I don't know why Samsung ROMs make the phone incompatible with the game.

Just copy the apk to the S3 and you can run it, but not update it.
I also was little mad when it did not work after I did buy me an S3, but I have my old phone left so I just used that APK:laugh:
