Battery or ROM/Kernel issue? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I moved to an AOSP based ROM about 3 weeks ago, AOCP 4.6, and this week my phone started randomly rebooting on me. I've read through the AOCP thread and no one has mentioned the issue. I've read somewhere that random reboots can be a battery issue and mine is about a year old. From the limited info here can someone give me a few suggestions? I'm running the stock AOCP kernel too.

So I did a full wipe and decided to give ShoStock 3 a go, it worked great for about a day and then started to do the same reboot that I was getting with AOcP.
Any ideas? Could it be a Jelly Bean thing? Its almost like a boot loop I guess which happens even in recovery as I'm trying to wipe and reflash.

It's definitely not a jellybean thing, it's starting to sound like a hardware problem.

That's what I was afraid of... Especially since it's a replacement one from AT&T less than a month old.
Weird thing is right now it will boot into and stay in recovery but as soon as I try to do anything it resets. It will not let me reflash anything because it resets before it finishes flashing.
It will not go into download mode from recovery but I got it there with a jig and am flashing stock UCLE5 so maybe I can get another replacement from AT&T if it persists.
Full stock firmware and still having the phone reset on its own.... on the phone with AT&T now on a spare to get a replacement.
Final Edit:
AT&T is all out of SGS2's so they're sending me an SGS3 so I'll be moving to that forum.

Did you have to renew your contract to get that sgs3?

Nothing new. Their update method has always only allowed you to check it once per 24 hours. However, there's a way to force it as many times as you want; I forget how (Google it with "XDA" behind your search terms). The question is though, why you would want to update via AT&T. There'd be more than an unlikely chance of getting some mangled BS. I will never understand those who prefer official updates; at most, you should be excited that our guys can get their hands on it, as opposed to installing it.

At first I thought to myself. I'll just use a custom rom until official update. Once I flashed I never turned back. Would never even think of flashing even to official ics which will be loaded with bloatware and worst of all...touchwiz...

[Q] problems booting to twisted's CM9 / LiquidSmooth / AOKP / Random ICS

good day all,
i'm trying to flash to this rom, i've tried both clockworkmod recovery and 4ext. the rom flashes, reboots and stays at the cool blue "Startingi ICS" for 10's of minutes, resulting in a pulled battery/recovery/restore to backup.
i'm a complete n00b at this, so its likely i'm making mistakes but cannot figure out the path forward. i've not tried any other roms yet, may have a look at nusense and see it if boots.
any help appreciated.
--- michael
You need to wipe system, and both caches. In 4ext use format all except SD

You have to wipe between flashes most of the time. There some times were wiping only caches will work but it really is better to just wipe everything and eliminate any issues that could come from not wiping everything.

I have wiped & wiped and also tried 3 different releases of this rom but I always get caught in the bootloop. I know that some folks are having the same issue but I was hoping that my TB wouldn't be one of them.
My first foray into this ROM is 12/6 build and I haven't seen a reason to try a newer build. Works pretty good, very few complaints.

has anyone flashed the radio from the ATT Skyrocket jelly bean leak?

I'm a little scared to be the Guinea pig, wondering if anyone has tried it. I'm wondering if it would help battery life and signal issues with cm10.
Damn no brave souls? My phone has a warranty so maybe I'll risk it.
The RIL libraries are likely not compatible with your non-JB Rom, but you should still have the ICS RIL's on board anyway...unless you are running a JB variant build.
That said, you might see drop outs on service occasionally........but it should'nt damage anything.....g

I wouldn't even knowingly attempt another phone's ROM at all.
So I flashed it and it booted up fine and everything worked. Then I got a sleep of death. I rebooted it and it would lock up on the lock screen. I rebooted several times with the same results. I had to reflash the old modem to get it to stop locking up. Oh well was worth a shot.

Its very common to use other modems. All the matters is that the modem chipset is the same.
It comes as an option with the CvD-Nibbles ROM (in the AROMA package installer under custom)
I flashed it without a problem, worked great for the 5 hours before I flashed the king kangers one .12 kernel, then it was unrecognized. (Probably could've reflashed it but haven't had the time yet as this was last night)

I've never heard of that ROM and your signature says you have a Galaxy S 2 Skyrocket. We're talking about the ATT Galaxy Note.

GPS Fix

I installed cleanrom 5.0 and could not get the GPS fixed by re installing rom or going back to stuck, even after formatting everything.
after this patch which i found online, it works perfect now,
Source http://www.usofttech.com/t49455.html
Running PAC Man 4.3 and didn't do anything for me. Tried wiping cache/dalvik before and after flash. Tried wiping cache then flash then fix permissions and still nothing. Wiped data in maps and GPS Fix too.

Anyone found a fix for SOD on KitKat ROMs yet?

I've tried every ROM, different kernels, everything but I still get screen of death on every 4.4 ROM I try no matter what. I know WiFi is causing it cause it only happens on WiFi but no matter what I do my screen locks up and I have to battery pull almost every single time the screen goes off. Does anyone have any info? Please I'm desperate and so badly want to run a kitkat ROM.
I'm still living with the issue after trying a billion different things. Pretty much can't use WiFi.. Ever

6. Install Gapps
7. Wipe Cache/Dalvik once more

I know, I just don't get it. Like I know a decent amount about tech and android, but I can't figure out where the issue is. And of course on XDA there are sooo many more people who know so much more and they can't figure it out either. I can't believe it just hasn't been fixed yet. So do you really just stay on a 4.4 ROM and not use WiFi?

If you can't get this to work then is it possible your device is faulty? Also, does it only happen with wifi at your home or elsewhere too?
