Have you tried a different cable? It sounds like something might be shorting in the connector.
These cables are available fairly cheaply on Amazon, among other places.

Did that before posting...but thanks for your response! Very helpful....
If you did that before posting, then why did you start a new thread, instead of posting in one of the threads you found?

[Q] Anyway to root without connecting via USB?

Hi, newbie here. My GT-P7500 won't connect to PC, red X appear on the battery icon. I tried connecting with a new original USB cable at local store, still the same. Maybe someone knows an advance way to root this device without connecting via USB? I know this is an old device, I should just thinking about getting a newer device, but it's just not my style to dump things knowing it is still usable. So thank you for anything you might suggest to me.
Uhm... The red X should be on the battery icon - USB charging is disabled by default due to the really slow charging time.
So, unless there are other problems, you don't seem to have a USB connection problem at all.

You're being so sophisticated, I couldn't get what you trying to tell me. Could you be a little more simple? What are you trying to tell me? Why the red X should be on the battery icon? Doesn't it indicate that something is wrong?

It should be there on stock ics because USB charging isn't enabled by default on the stock kernel (I think ). About your problem, do you have the correct drivers installed?

Trust me, I wouldn't have created this thread if I hadn't tried all the basics. The only thing I can hope now is a magic to root this device without connecting via USB. :cyclops:

Try connecting it again using different cables. Go ahead and check out if your computer reads it. You can try it on a different computer or just check if MTP Application is enabled and if USB Debugging is enabled under Settings.

[Q] Bluetooth connection issue with MegaFire

I'm having Bluetooth connectivity issues, specifically with my car (Volvo XC60, Bluetooth 04.23_R). For the last 2 or 3 weeks I've been using MegaFireMj2V6. Bluetooth was fine with other devices but the car wouldn't connect, always bringing up the "Unfortunately Bluetooth Share has stopped" error. Yesterday I upgraded to MegaFireMj2V7X, and now I'm having issues with connecting other devices as well, in other words the problem is now even worse.
I'm new to ROMs and flashing. Is it possible to replace and audition alternative Bluetooth elements in the hope of fixing the problem? Failing that I'll have no choice but to try another ROM entirely. That would be a shame because I'm enjoying MegaFire. But Bluetooth connection between my phone and car is essential. I'm not a power user, I just need a simple ROM, preferably no bloatware but definitely good, reliable bluetooth. Any recomendations, please?
You can replace your Bluetooth now..

Could you be more specific?
I've researched and have found that the Bluetooth stack, "Bluetooth Share", can be replaced. I've tried out three backups of my own, created by Titanium Backup in recent weeks, but unfortunately, this hasn't solved my Bluetooth issue. I have Bluetooth Share v 4.2.2. Is that the only version available, or can anyone let me know where I can find and audition alternatives? Failing that, I'll be re-flashing MegaFireMj2V7X later today and keeping my fingers crossed that that does the trick (although I don't think it will!).

Yes. I can..
Thanks, Turl3. Reinstalling MegaFireMj2V7X repaired Bluetooth, but I'm left with the issue that I can't run two devices at once. I want to connect to both my Sony Smartwatch2 and my car at the same time. I've posted in the Q&A forum to see if anyone can help.

Bluetooth is weird! It wouldn't connect ... it wouldn't connect ... But then today, without my doing anything at all, I got into the car and all of a sudden both devices are connecting perfectly!! And it's been like that all afternoon. I'm not going to touch any settings on any device, and hopefully things will stay as they are

Has anybody tried android auto?

Hi,
Has anybody tried using Motorola one with a car and/or android Auto?
My phone does not even charge when I connect it to the car. I have tried it with two other phones, both functioned properly.

Question problem with jack

hi everyone. I recently bought this device, but I have a problem with the usb-c to 3.5 jack cable. Is it normal that nothing is heard when I connect my headphones? The cable is included with the device.

probably it's the convertor that you are using. If you can source another one and give it a shot.
