why no support from devs?

Because I love lamp
Sent from my LG-E970 using Tapatalk

It's on the way, bro. It takes a while to hack up a custom kernel without source of you're looking for JB.. Also, some folks are working on CM9/10. We will probably have some more custom ROM's (I hope) after the holidays. Patience.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app

Yeah, there has been talk of CM/AOSP ROMS in the works, non-stock based ROMS take a lot of time to make. We have one stock based (The Base), and it has been debloated and tweaked with custom settings. There isn't much else that could be done atm.
And don't forget, we JUST got team Nocturnal, and they have stated to have things in the works, they already posted a MOD.
This phone is pretty new, we have the debloated ROM, and the rest just takes time.

Development

This is just my opinion and I know I'm probably going to get bashed for it, but I just don't see the development for this phone picking up. It's nothing to do with the developers we have because I think they're great, but just a matter of bad timing. With the One X and SGS3 coming out it seems to me that the developers we could get are holding out for those phones. I really wish it would pick up because I think this phone has a lot of potential. What is everyone else's opinion? Does this sound like a logical conclusion?
Maybe if this phone came it at a different time it would be a different story.

Development is delayed simply because theres no kernel source for ics on the note, so no custom kernels are holding out development, also no vendor/binary source available to build from source, I've been looking at what we need for developing cm9 but I hd some issues with my laptop so that was delayed, I'm sure once we get more sources we will see more development.
RoloRacer on ICS Galaxy Note!
I've been thinking about getting into some rom development for this phone. I'm smart enough to do it but I just haven't taken the time to learn how yet. I don't know where to start. Kinda wanna learn from a developer.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
With the phone being only 2 months old tomorrow and no kernel yet, I think there's been a lot of development. When the kernel comes this phone will take off.
yeah, I think it will pick up too once an actual source ICS is released, which I bet comes pretty soon..
And 2 new roms just dropped this morning

The revamped rom. It's not brand new but they did a lot of fixing from rc1

I agree with RoloRacer...
Once developers get the ics kernel source, I'm sure we will see a lot more roms popping up. I think we have enough great developers, but they need the proper tools before they can start building. We just need to be patient.
That being said, I'm a rom junkie myself...so I feel your pain....just be strong!

There are multiple roms and themes for gingerbread, as well as a few roms and themes for ICS.
What are you expecting, 10 pages of roms?
The ics kernel isn't even released yet.

Jelly Bean for i717

Hello all.
Been reading through the development posts and can't find a stable ROM jb with s-pen apps.
I mean really jb for the note.
Is there such a thing?
Reason s-pen and not Papyrus is I have a Wacom Cross pen and have gotten used to the eraser which only the s-pen utilities seem to work with.
Thanks for tolerating this newbie.

Stock Samsung apps won't be on jb unless Samsung release a jb ROM. All the jb ROMs are aosp based liked cm.
Some apps may work with that pen eraser though, don't have one to test.

Oh I'm no genius. My smarts about things that pertain to this site however come from reading and searching and learning. Which, oh my, happens to be the golden rule of this site! Imagine that.
I didn't mean my post to cause strife.
I just need a stable ROM because I use my phone for work so I can figured some of you might have real world experience.
I didn't see a post or survey that listed JB and stability.
Thanks all and sorry for even asking.

Note2 thoughts, Feeler Thread...

For those who dont know me I dev with Team Slim, ROM is called Slim Bean, located here. Anyway I have tossing the idea of getting the note2 around in my head and bringing Slim Bean 4.2.1 to it as well If your interested in Slim Bean on the note2 drop a post so I can get a feel for how many want to see Slim Bean on this device.
What kind of question is that.... of course we want you to create a rom here. I use to run slim on my s3!! Amazing work

**** I forgot lol I remember now. I remember I tried out his ROM for a bit. I was thinking of someone else who made a slimmer TW ROM. Now that I look back at my S3 backups I remember. His ROMs were still really damn slim. The only ROM that was slimmer was Liquid but Slim still had lots of features while maintaining that slim package

Stock based Rom quality

I really am happy with the roms for our device up to date. Its not just the powerful hardware that gets me. I have plenty of other devices. Aosp, sense, touchwiz, blur. Out of all of the available roms. I'm really digging these LG roms. The launcher. Q-slide. Its all very functional for me. Oh and the calculator especially.
I think even though I'm dying to try Aosp on this phone like every one else. I think at the end of the day ill still be rockin an LG based rom. I was wondering if anyone else is thinking like me?

roms! wow

It's nice to see the n2 finally getting attracting more devs and a variety of roms. That has been the only disappointment for me with the n2. Coming from the s3, it was a shock to find only two working roms. Things are looking better. Keep going folks. This phone may be good enough for me to keep more than three months!
