My belief as to why we got JB before One X - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

To keep it short and sweet, I believe we are the guinea pigs and once the One X receives it (probably flawless) JB update, we will see a minor patch as well.

That's fine with me.

I see no issue with getting it early. All of the problems have been eliminated by the devs.

Lol, the Devs are awesome no doubt, but the problems aren't all eliminated. I don't care why we got it, this release was obviously flawed seriously. It's ok tho.. Better luck next time

LOL the One X did recieve it a Turkey ago, every variation but AT&T's & Rogers.

and Sprint is way better in updating their phones when it comes to other US carriers.

The one x in north America is technically called the one xl or aka one x lte. Different from the international one x.

An intense process, also making sure it can't be uninstalled easily & notifications from them cannot be silenced.

Bluetooth range issues

I have tmo rooted stock rom 1.43 and have the worst range from Bluetooth...i see I'm not the only one, because there are many reports on tmo site...my questions are who here has this problem, what have you done to fix it, and does the custom roms have this problem?

Mine is stock and I get up to about 20' and seems to start losing signal. I am fine with that though. Phone is always close by me anyway.....

Cons are just the annoying bloatware
Great phone,highly recommend

The only con thus far is the lame 3 buttons because there is not third hard button..... I hate losing screen real estate because HTC doesnt want to use common sense.

On pretty much all smartphones wifi calling here in Asia works great. Blocked in the US now like in communist countries??
Coming from a Nexus 4 user, so not biased in anyway:
Pros-
By far the best phone out right now (far above the GS4)
No lag whatsoever
Supports all frequency bands (2G,3G,4G, LTE on all GSM carriers)
Solid feel
Amazing screen
Sense is beautiful (opinion)
Wi-Fi Calling ( I get bad service in my house so I miss this feature)
Cons-
Although the materials are good, build quality on some devices has been sub par
Not subsidized on T-mobile, makes me very nervous to attempt to purchase or trade for one due to the fact that it was most likely purchased on EIP.

[Q] Gnex to the DNA

Well after going through 4 GNex replacements VZW has decided to send me a HTC DNA to replace it, and it will be here monday.
I am curious as to the two different DNA Development Threads... ?
Can someone explain?
Also as I have been reading threads (still reading now) that the current RUU is unrootable?
Is this still true? ( I may have already got to "that thread" by the time I get an answer)
Just trying to get some info before I delve into it.

Are you referring to the DNA Android Development and DNA Original Android development boards? The first one (loosely speaking) is more for kangs, and roms that are based off of stock, as well as roms that are based off of other people's work (i.e. not fully original work). The original development board is geared towards roms built from source (i.e. AOSP roms), as well as development that introduce original features.

This is false. I recommend using Moonshine to root and unlock your device on the latest update.

Agreed.
I intentionally moved from the gnex to the DNA, as I had a coupon to get it for free and I felt the deal couldn't be beat.
After a slow start (as s-off wasn't available yet) when I first got it, I am now absolutely thrilled with it and couldn't be happier.
Performance is so much better than the Gnex, it's ridiculous.

4G is a-ok. I had a Gnex once upon a blue moon and the differences are staggering. I found the screen to be dark and brooding no matter how high the brightness was set. On the DNA, even at low brightness the colors seem to pop. You'll be more than happy.

I too will be a Gnex refugee. My 2 Gnexs have touch screen issues that come and go. My used DNA should arrive tomorrow. I just want an Android phone that works properly. I'm also buying a Qi wireless charger.
I am S-off, Rooted. Tried several roms but had no data at all, couldn't sign in to Google account.
I had backed up my stock Rom after I rooted and I'm on it now. Rebooted.
On LTE/cdma. Getting frustrated... No 4G sucks.... Don't know how I ever survived on 3G....lol

Have you tried to ruu it? Maybe that will help. Also try after ruu going into stock recovery and factory reset from there. It fixed my radio when I was stuck on roaming... Maybe it will help you. Also have you tried reseating the sim card? Those have been known to be very touchy on our phones

Did Verizon and HTC break up?
The only HTC phone available on their site is the Incredible 4G and its for pre-owned only.
In store they have nothing.
I found it interesting.
Edit: Nevermind. Found out why.

And to celebrate, a day later Verizon Wireless forced HTC to take the bootloader unlock down from htc.dev site.
Yea looks like Verizon certainly has a firm grip around HTC and Samsung's balls. Both flagship devices are now locked down with the latest softwares.
And with VZW locking down the bootloader on the One, it is now time that VZW and I break up.

Sony hasn't made a cdma phone in a long time and I would say don't hold your breath. ... Best phone coming in next couple months may be lg g3
Sent from my SM-N900P using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
Not sure what to do. Have been eligible for a couple months and want to upgrade. Have been with HTC for 4 years but the M8 isn't wowing me for some reason. Think it's the waste of screen space. So for Sprint I should just stick it out until the G3 is released? I have an LG LED TV and love it so I'm assuming they make good phones too. Think it will release in the next 2 months or so?
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
I thought the strongest rumor for US so far was that the Z2 was going to be a VZW exclusive. Maybe this isn't the case anymore?
I will probably wait for G3 as well if Z2 cannot be used on cdma carriers.
