Will this be available for Sprint? - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Currently using an EVO LTE and I'm not amazed with the M8. From what I've seen this phone will only be available through T-Mobile. I hope this is wrong.

Sony hasn't made a cdma phone in a long time and I would say don't hold your breath. ... Best phone coming in next couple months may be lg g3

Not sure what to do. Have been eligible for a couple months and want to upgrade. Have been with HTC for 4 years but the M8 isn't wowing me for some reason. Think it's the waste of screen space. So for Sprint I should just stick it out until the G3 is released? I have an LG LED TV and love it so I'm assuming they make good phones too. Think it will release in the next 2 months or so?

I thought the strongest rumor for US so far was that the Z2 was going to be a VZW exclusive. Maybe this isn't the case anymore?
I will probably wait for G3 as well if Z2 cannot be used on cdma carriers.

HTC evo 2

Just wandering gamespot.com and noticed an article referring to GTA 3 coming to iOS and certain higher end Android devices. Rockstar listed the Evo 2 as one of the devices. After Christmas search it looks like HTC is dropping sprint as their device carrier.

I'm almost 100% certain they're talking about the Evo 3D. Also where did you hear this rumor of HTC dropping Sprint. That's insane they would lose so much money. HTC has been working with Sprint even before android devices probably their biggest provider in the U.S.
Probably. a typo ...think. they meant. Evo 3d.

Link? Besides I seriously wouldn't count that as valid with any weight behind it.
And the EVO line is exclusive to Sprint within the U.S. & it's available internationally on other carriers.
Ex:
EVO WiMax (Japan)
EVO 4G+ (Korea),
EVO 3D GSM (Canada/Europe/Unlocked)
Yep I saw this article too and I'm sure they meant the evo 3d.
I think you may be right about the Evo 2/ 3vo confusion. The article I found was here although there is no link to any info on htc dropping sprint. Must be speculation.

I thought the whole EVO line was named by Sprint and only for Sprint...at least in the US.

I remember buying my HTC touch from sprint a month before the Iphone came out. A much better phone, even though it had wm. Then the HTC Pro, Pro 2, EVO,EVO 3d. If they do drop sprint which is highly unlikely, they will loose a loyal customer.
Ps. it also works for Samsung galxy tab 7 plus if interested. Side loading needed.

Every time someone says "Evo" HTC gets a nickel. There's no way they would drop Sprint. HTC makes as much money as they do by getting their products on as many carriers as possible. Every phone you see that they have put on Verizon, At&t, and T-Mobile were basically just rebranded Evos.

Help with sprint cellphone upgrades

Hello everyone, I need help deciding what cellphone from sprint to get upgraded to, since they told me that now is the time that I can qualify for an upgrade, Right now I have an evo 3d, and I love this phone, but I have noticed that everybody's jumping to the lte's phones, I was thinking on upgrading to the evo LTE, but after reading on many android forums it seems that not many people like it, so the same goes for samsung s3, unfortunately those are the only ones that I qualify for, I don't believe sprint has the note 2, but of all those 3, which one you guys would recommend, thanks in advance
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
If you "qualify" for an upgrade now, you will still qualify for it 2, 3, or even 6 months down the road.
Seems to me if you upgrade now, its just for the sake of upgrading. You said urself, u love the 3d. If there isn't a phone out there that excites u, then hold out until there is one that does...that is what I am doing.

Thank you FanOfSkynyrd, I will wait and see what the next year brings

Sprint usually comes out with evo upgrades in June or July, so I plan to wait until then.

My belief as to why we got JB before One X

To keep it short and sweet, I believe we are the guinea pigs and once the One X receives it (probably flawless) JB update, we will see a minor patch as well.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
That's fine with me.
I see no issue with getting it early. All of the problems have been eliminated by the devs.

Lol, the Devs are awesome no doubt, but the problems aren't all eliminated. I don't care why we got it, this release was obviously flawed seriously. It's ok tho.. Better luck next time

LOL the One X did recieve it a Turkey ago, every variation but AT&T's & Rogers.
and Sprint is way better in updating their phones when it comes to other US carriers.
The one x in north America is technically called the one xl or aka one x lte. Different from the international one x.

An intense process, also making sure it can't be uninstalled easily & notifications from them cannot be silenced.

Verizon and HTC

Did Verizon and HTC break up?
The only HTC phone available on their site is the Incredible 4G and its for pre-owned only.
In store they have nothing.
I found it interesting.
Edit: Nevermind. Found out why.

HTC changed from creating several phones each year to just focusing on a single phone and selling it on each carrier. Your question is interesting that you are just a day early. The HTC One is set to be released Thurs (along with a Motorloa phone.)

And to celebrate, a day later Verizon Wireless forced HTC to take the bootloader unlock down from htc.dev site.
Yea looks like Verizon certainly has a firm grip around HTC and Samsung's balls. Both flagship devices are now locked down with the latest softwares.
And with VZW locking down the bootloader on the One, it is now time that VZW and I break up.

With great devs on here I'm sure there will be workarounds soon...granted I'm using a Verizon rezound I'm not on their carrier...thanks to the devs....if not I wouldn't of been able to use the gsm capabilities to just go prepaid on this phone with straight talk...ya data is a little slow and could go with other sim carriers but I'm happy where I'm at

Lte signal Evo vs Galaxy S4

I recently bought my wife a galaxy 4 and it seems to always be connected to LTE even inside the house, meanwhile my Evo Lte keeps switching from Lte to 3g. Very frustrating... My phone has all the updates.. is there something else I can do?

That's what I figured. I've been on the fence for a couple weeks deciding between the M8 or the G3. I really like the M8 but I'm afraid to have the same problem with it...

No. Without an unlocked bootloader, there's no custom recovery available yet. Though, I understand they're close. I just don't want to take any risks without having backups. Plus, this thing stock is absolutely no slouch.
