I want to learn how to port an apk and what is its procedure ????
I searched almost every where but I was only able to find how to port themes but I want to port app and much more hope u understand

so i decide that i want to make a miui theme for our sony x10, a very nice one that i could dream for and share to you guys for advices if need. also, i need help to find the guide, etc. that i can make a theme and i hope if u guys can help me find the link or other easy stuffs?

All You need is winrar. You use that to open *.mtz files in which is all the stuff You need.
Im wondering if someone can tell me what i need to do to create my own theme for ICS 4.0.4
I really want to learn this, i use to do it for 2.2 and 2.3 but dont know how to do it anymore. Can some one please help me or give me something to start off with.
I am using eclipse and just not sure what i need

what kind of theme work u want to do on ur rom ??? maybe i can help u

doing theme work on ics is tricky thing because there is no proper apktool available.
u need a hacked apktool.
if u want to change icons only then u have to just swap them in there respective apk.icons will be in res\drawable-hdpi folder.some apks will be in mipmap-hdpi

i dont like the mms.apk from creeds or any mms.apk from mdpi devices because it doesnt look good on my stock rom(dxkl2) im trying to mod for ldpi devices pls help need it very badly! tnx in advance
first decompile the apk and then u will find this folder

edit : agree with shocklads..u can find smali files with deodexed rom only.btw please ask question in FAQ section
U need Deodexed rom before Mod apk file to have smali folder

I googled lot but Im not getting how to decompile UI even I tried to download some tools like apktool but I don't know why that app never starts
Can any one provide me simple and straight method for making a new system UI and provide tools required to make UI
I'm really noob in such things so your help will not only help me but also other noobs like me. .

It isnt an app that u can just theme with so easily.
U have to open apktool using "CMD" or Command Prompt
If u want to theme easily use ticklefish's Tickle my droid
If u want to theme as u want exactly use apktool.
Also If u just want to edit images (and not xmls)
Just use 7 zip to extract ur apk. Edit pngs in drawable-ldpi and drawable-hdpi using gimp/Paint.net/Photoshop
then put edited files back in the apk

dont repack ever....
either recompile usin apktool or just replace it from the apk without unpacking
