Thank you for your feedback.
As part of a product decision, we have removed the ability to turn off auto-download images from recent versions of WhatsApp.
If your friends still see this feature on their phones, they most likely have an older version of the app.
We understand your concern for data usage; however, images on WhatsApp are down-sized, resulting in a typical image size and data usage of approximately 40-50KB per image.
Therefore, even if your WhatsApp contacts send you 100 images per day for an entire month (30 days), that would total to 135MB of data usage. Of course, that's an extreme case and more often the average WhatsApp user receives 19 images per month; this is equivalent to 855KB, or 0.83MB per month. Rest assured, this amount is covered by even the smallest data plans.
You can also check your actual data usage within WhatsApp:
- For iPhone, tap Settings > Usage
- For Android and BlackBerry, press menu(bb) button > Settings > Account Info > Network Usage
- For Nokia, press menu button > Settings > About > Network Usage
You can see the exact media data usage under "Media bytes received."

If you are update from previous version which untick the auto download before update, the new version will have this option.
If you install new version on new phone, no this option.
That's my finding

Use titanium backup to backup your current version data, install an old version and restore the backup, change the setting then make another backup. Install the new version and restore the backup.
That's how I got mine to work.

Thanks for your method.
But you sure the installed old version can run and won;t tell you it is old version and need to update?
Or you may try try, as most old version cannot even run and force to update to new version before you can go to setup page.

Anyone has the old version of whatsapp?
---------- Post added at 11:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:32 PM ----------
Which version is the one that has auto download image option? Can name some? I forgot which versions have this and till which has it disabled.

Tried the method that you suggested but cannot work.
1) Backup latest version (both apk and data)
2) Clear data and uninstall latest version.
3) Install old version that has auto-download option.
4) Restore DATA ONLY from TiBu (i bought Pro)
5) Open the old version - need to adjust timing.
6) Go to Setting>Auto Download>Untick
7) Exit app, go TiBu and backup (both apk and data).
8) Clear data and uninstall.
9) Go Play Store and download latest version.
10) Go TiBU and restore DATA ONLY
11) Open Whatsapp but failed to find this option.
Anyone?

I had the same problem but i solved it installing this mod of whatsapp

Arnova 7 G2 android 2.3.1 rom needed! May have market fix!

Trying to get the market to work on my Arnova 7 G2. So far i have gotten google plus, nexflix, xda, and facebook to work and i had the full Market up and running.. but it would crash when i tried to install a app. i need to find a 2.3.1 rom. I know some one hase one. I have a evo. I cant seem to find one since everyone has moved on.. Ive been pulling things from 2.3.3 and higher took from 2.2 and had youtube working. If some one else is working on this or can get me a rom that is 2.3.1 for the evo then i may be able to get it working. No root by the way... might work for the 10 G2. Im not a dev. To get GoogleMarket on your ARNOVA 7 G2 you can use the files for the ARNOVA 10 G2!
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum...droid-market-without-root-on-latest-firmware/
Extract the files, transfer the files and then install the apks using file manager in this order:
1.Google Services Framework
2.OneTime Initializer
3.Setup Wizard
4.Talk
5.Gmail
6.Vending
1) After installing all the G Market files go try to login to Gmail. You will get an error.
2) Now go into settings and manage apps. Click on Google framework. Clear the cache files.
3) Do the same thing for Gmail and clear the cache.
4) Power down and back up.
5) DONT launch the market but launch Gmail and login. It should work.
6) Now you can launch the Market.

Confirmed, i just did this to my coby tablet day before yesterday so figured id give it a try on the arnova, u dont have to clear the cache, as soon as u finish installing all the gapps, just power down, reboot, and launch a gapp. loggin and all is good
i get the cannot establish a reliable data connection message
Did u do it as stated above? U have to install framework and stuff too

Hy there,
Using the market for 1 week now on my 7g2. IT seems there is a problem with framework.apk, cause after installing the internal Memory on the 7g2 is only 208 MB. It seems that internal mount points have changed... Waiting for a Firmware from archos
Gesendet von meinem HD2 mit Tapatalk
That's just the internal memory...the 8gb storage is used as an sd card basically...if u run out of internal mem, manage apps and move them to sd...
Sent from my AN7BG2DT using XDA App
if ull look thru ur 8gb storage, there is a folder, called sdcard...all app data can be stored there

Will this method work on the Arnova 7c G2 3G model?
See no reason it would not

This didn't work...
I did everything as said:
- Downloaded the apps
- Transferred all dir to my sdcard
- Installed the apps in the prescribed order
- Logged on to Gmail, got the error
- Cleared Data (not cache... there was no cache files) files from the prescribed apps.
- Reboot
- Logged on on to Gmail and I got the same error: "Can't establish reliable connection"
In the archive that I downloaded there was other files such as framework/*, lib/*, permission/*.
I transferred all of them along with the app/* to the sdcard and installed the apps from the app directory.
My device is the Arnova 7c G2 3G
Any help?
Lol...uninstall everything...reinstall everything same order. Don't launch anything. Power down, reboot...launch a gapp ,login and u should be up and running. I did not use the files the OP used, I used the ones from an earlier install to a coby tab

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post links, so if it gets removed search YouTube for "how to install android market on coby kyros 7022" by daprospecta. It's the first link in the description. Called g tablet.zip. if ull watch the video and follow it to a tee, u should have no problems. After install DO NOT CLEAR CACHE OR DATA FOR ANY APPS!! simply power down and reboot. Then open a gapp login and all should be fine

If all else fails, back all pics/music up to ur sdcard or pc... format ur NAND memory, do a factory restore then retry the process from a fresh system... good luck

Hi nazull
I also have the Arnova 7c G2 and have followed ALL your previous instructions including the ones via YouTube and it still won't work!!
I still get the error message "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". And yes the Wifi IS enabled and working.
Grrrr! It's sooo frustrating. Why do Google feel the need to prevent us from just downloading apps? I don't get it. Why not just let us access apps via the Market website?
Also worth mentioning is that this tablet has GPS but NO Google Maps or any other mapping software ... what the heck is the point??!!
Thanks in advance.

How to disable OTA Update Notification for Root users?

I can't seem to find which program to freeze in Titanium Backup. Any ideas out there?
Have any 10e root users accepted the update? Do you lose root even with Voodoo Keeper?
Thanks!
You can try freezing 'lgfotapermission' app using Titanium Back up. It's just my guess. No guarantees. YMMV.

Thanks - I found it, and froze it, however I'm still getting the notification. Even after reset. Odd.
I believe the update check code is embedded into the settings apk. It will need to be re-compiled to prevent this.
If we knew what URL the device is getting its updates from we can block it with a hosts entry.
I found some info here on disabling the update notification for anyone who is still interested.

It looks like you need to freeze these two apps in Titanium Backup:
com.lge.lgfota.permission
com.lge.omadmclient
V10C P765 Rooted
I simply unchecked following option and I think it stops future OTA Notification.
Settings >>> About Phone >>> Software Update >>> Check Automatically (Uncheck this)

Doesn't seem to work as update notification is still popping up on my P769.
This is how I stoped my phone from updateing and nagging. ( Must be rooted )
1. Download and install ( system tuner apk from playstore )
2. Launch system tuner and choose ( system with the red icon )
3. Choose (Google services framework ) and hit (details)
4. Scroll down to services and uncheck ( update.systemUpdateService
Thats all.

While I can't vouch for anything else besides the P675 10e Tmobile version, the following method will stop the update prompts. It *should* work on all ICS and JB devices, including Nexus.
0. Root, if you haven't already.
1. Download AutoRun Manager
2. In ARM, choose "Advanced"
3. Touch the wrench icon, and check
- Show System Entries
- Enable System Application Disable
4. Back on the application list, tap the refresh (circle arrow) icon if you don't see system apps. They should have a red background.
5. Find the app Google System Framework (aka: GSF) and tap it.
6. Uncheck the "com.google.<something>.gsf.update.SystemUpdate" receivers. I can't read my own handwriting at the moment, but they both end in SystemUpdate.
Am I the only one who definitely DONOT hit thanks when I see this line "Hit thanks if it helped"?
Thread cleaned. I don't see the reason of this whole argue you had. If someone wants to post hit thanks, let it be. It's definitely not worthy to be discussed. Now you should both excuse each other for jumping the guns for nothing.

This caused a permanent wakelock on SystemUpdateService on my LG Optimus P769, so my phone never went to sleep mode. I even rebooted several times, and checked over several days. As soon as I re-enabled update.systemUpdateService, the phone was able to sleep again. It did seem to prevent the OTA popup from re-appearing, but at a cost of battery life.

[Q] Some questions regarding themes & settings..

Hope it's ok to make this separate topic as I have asked these questions in the rom specific thread (Omega), but it seems the posts just get lost or not viewed due to the huge amount of posts that go in that topic each day and I've not had a reply.
No.1 - Recently updated to Omega v42.1 having come from Paranoid Android and noticed that even though Omega has the mod to skip songs using the vol up & down buttons, these don't work with the Spotify app, nor is there anything on the lockscreen to skip tracks, I therefore have to unlock the phone, go into the Spotify app and then skip through that which is a PITA. Is it possible to change this?
No.2 - When using the Facebook app, when I click on a link it opens in the crap basic internet browser. It doesn't ask what program to open with even though I've cleared the cache and there aren't any defaults in the Facebook or Internet app. Just want the pages to open in Chrome?
No.3 - Themes. I'm new to messing around with themes and put Motomoto00 on and really liking it other than the fact that only a few icons are themed. Is it alot of work to theme all other icons? On the guide it says to :
*use the next steps to get theme work with Play Store apps:
- backup app using TitaniumBackup
- restore latest backup
- convert app to system app
- flash theme
Not sure how to go about this and sounds like it may be quite a time consuming thing to do?
Hope anyone could offer some advice. Thanks.:fingers-crossed:

1. no

Backup app using TitaniumBackup - Ok. So you have to do one app at a time?
Restore latest backup - So once all apps are backed up, can restore from this?
Convert app to system app - No idea what this means and do you have to convert one app at a time and is it time consuming?

Possibilities to export all installed apps to a reinstallable “package” or something?

Hello, (if this thread fits somewhere else, then someone can move it :> )
I am reinstalling roms once in a month or so. It is always nice to test the phone with a lot of apps to see how the phone and the rom react and how much it can perform. But it is a bit horrible to reinstall all apps everytime i install a new rom. Is there a way to export all apps to a big package i can install again on a new installed rom?
Is there a way to export/package all apps installed on the phone to one packet or something? Instead of installing all apps in a horrible sequence from google play.

also there s always backup option in pc app of device.

Why everyone are making new off-topic threads !!
We need a banner or something at the top to make it clearer that this is for Android Wear, not some general Android section.
The forum page defaults to newest devices (at least for me) and Android Wear is at the top, I think that's why random posts keep ending up in here.

Review on the basis of 36 hrs use.
First impression I don't find any major difference in daily use but few bugs which use to bother are almost gone.
1. Fingerprint sensor response time reduced and more accurate.
2. Camera is more responsive but focus error is still on.
3. Battery same as before . All depends on usage but I am finding charging time is increased than before. Fast charger seems now regular.
4. Games are more responsive and touch seems very sensitive than before.
5. Screen contrasts are enhanced but this causing drain battery.
6.sound quality and noise cancellation is improved while we do outgoing calls.
7. Not having Jio sim so not sure about band added.
8. GPS accuracy is as good as before nothing compromised.
9. Third party apps working fine. I am not using xposed so no comments.
10. Browser experience seems improved, pages load fast on crome browser.
Cheers,
Hope lot more to come.
Regards

I've just updated yesterday and i found a bug.
Does it only affect me?
My Wifi doesn't work anymore?
If i activate it, it's getting deactivated suddenly again.

WIFI works fine for me and no disconnect on 16S
Wifi is wokring fine for me
Camera focus and images are much improved, especially moving objects are getting captured a little better
Battery life seems to be improved in comparison to stock 15S with same number of extra apps installed
Also just to add, I have clean installed the rom after fully wiping the system.
The data was encrypted, so wiped the data partition and rooted the rom. Everything is working fine. No bugs identified till now, using since last three days.
I just reinstalled but with Chinese 16s... Now everything works flawless again... Dont know what the matter was...

Nope, is not preinstalled, but it is as easy as installing other apks.
Just go into the LeEco Store and download google play and all the other google apps u need.
You can configure your smartphone as individual as you want.. nice thing

Can't be disabled I believe.
I took backup of everything and then booted into TWRP and formated data partition.
After formatting data, without restarting the device, connected to pc and copied the su file and rooted.

I've got to say that battery life is definite better than with 15s.
I belive the Battery Drain is less than half so fast than before.
Is at least my experience..

When data is encrypted PC will not show it in TWRP/recovery mode.
I started the phone normally and took backup first.
Then booted into TWRP
-wipe - >formatted the data partition
- then i selected mount option -> enable MTP
then i was able to see the phone connected on PC
Go to mount and enable mtp

Hello I have a question. I want to install the official rom but I actually work with the resurrection rom and unofficial recovery. Can I flash the 16s official with that recovery without brick my phone?
