[Q] No Model number in download mode+No PIT Partition - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have searched the forum and various others but still could not solve my problem. SO please bare with me for 5 mins to read the following.
I have recently updated to Wanam's latest V5.3 XXELLA but over night it rebooted and stuck in a bootloop. so what i did was recovery wipe everything including dalvik cache BUT still stuck in bootloop. SO again i went back on the pc and flash the stock official XXELLA again bootloop again. I have found out some people might need to go into recovery and wipe everything after the official flash. BUT again still stuck in bootloop.
I honest don't remember ticking repartition but now when i try to flash ANYTHING it says the following:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..

STILL REVIVABLE?OR IS IT COMPLETELY DEAD?!

Believe this is another case of sudden death syndrome (eMMC failure)... you'll have to return it to a samsung service centre.

is there nothing i can do apart from returning it to samsung? because the thing is i moved from uk to china and well if im being honest people here charge you for whatever they do. so you could say there is not such thing as warranty if you know what i mean. so i will want to fix it myself if possible.

if it is the sudden death syndrome, it is hardware failure, so no way to fix it yourself (not through software flashes etc) - someone else might need to confirm this, but seems to be the problem you're facing.

Custom rom + bootloop .
Its not dead looks like user or something has lost PIT partition .
As it stands it will fail warranty . Its not dead and download mode shows non stock firmware .
jje

so what do i need to do to revert it?
many thanks

hi! i would like to ask how's your phone? did you solve the problem of it? we have same situation i tried to flash different pit files but with no success. tried to flash official rom but it is still looking for pit file.

different pit files? flashing a wrong one kills the phone, there's nothing you can do.

[Q] Can't get SCH-I605 back to stock

I tried to flash my note 2 to 4.1.2 and it failed. Now I'm just trying to get it back to stock. It keeps failing on modem.bin.
I've tried...

Any ideas?
If I remember right you should try a different version.
I tried using my work computer (also windows 8 64 bit) and finally got the root66_VZW_stock_system.tar file to flash, but then it gets stuck in a boot loop.
What version should I be trying?
Thanks
I can get the phone to boot using root66 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024207) or VRALJB_rootedstockdeo.zip (from beans - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390225151984926781), but I get no signal. My IMEI is uknown. I've been able to generate a new IMEI file with sgs3.nv.gen, but nv-items_reader_writer won't push it to my phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804123).
While playing around I noticed something odd with the phone in windows explorer (image below). My internal memory and external sdcard seem fine, but the internal sdcard seems hosed. I tried creating a folder and it threw up an error. I'm guessing my partitions are all borked, but I'm not sure how to get them back to normal. Once the phone is back to normal I'm sure I can get my IMEI back in there and everything working again.
I've tried Section 1a and Section 1b from the root66 link above with no luck. I've tried a few other pit files with no luck. They hang on Get mapping for PIT in odin.

[SOLVED] [Help Me] Cant Flash Stock rom with odin

I ran WLSS Stock Rom with Kernel for some time
Yesterday I updated Google Search, the phone froze -> rebooted
Sine then about 20 times the phone came up froze and shutdown
Without missing a beat I thought it was a wonderful opportunity to flash the new Stock WLSW
I kill all of the kies processes and and tried to flash and it always fails !
Tried Odin 3.04, 1.85 and even tried reverting to WLSS with the same result....
Help someone...........:crying:
Now I can ONLY go to Download mode, there is now recovery.
When I try to boot normally I get a screen the tell's me :
Firmware upgrade encountered

That pic on the screen means it's already in download mode (forced download mode). You need to search for Hopper8's 'Odin won't work' thread. I'd be surprised if you can't successfully flash with the info/stuff to try in that thread.

I did everything there but PIT or a costume rom/kernel....
This is the next step?
So you did everything, including the flashing of the 3 part firmware? Assuming you have an I9100 anyway.
Don't flash a pit (I'd like to say ever) but at least not now.
You can try flashing Siyah v6 as linked in the guide. I'd continue to try to flash JB leak, the 3 part firmware.

The 3 part firmware consist of : Firmware + CSC + Modem. The good is with the 3 part firmware is that it does a factory reset automatically.BTW,I've heard so many issues like this, that people on stock ROM were updating apps/browsing internet, then it suddenly froze and Odin never works.I recommend not to use Samsung firmware,or at least not 100% original.Use a custom stock ROM.and also,if siyah failed too, then I think your only options are: 3 part firmware, .PIT or nothing

Tried to Root and Crashed Need help Recovering

Hi All
I tried to root my S2 using the following guide
http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-root-galaxy-s2-gt-i9100-jelly-bean-android-4-1-14-1-2/
everything worked fine, so i thought i would try to update it to 4.4, but i would update CWM.
I tried to do this by downloading CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5 TAR file and installing it via Odin same way as i did in the above guide.
I dont know if that was the wrong thing to do or if something went wrong
Now my phone will not boot and it will only give me the following error
"firmware upgrade encountered an issue please select recovery mode in kies & try again"
I tried to do this buy kies couldnt connect to my phone.
I tried the guide on from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365701
But i get the following error in ODIN

You need Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' guide in the General section. Search for it. Stuff in the thread should enable you to get a successful Odin flash away & a 'clean slate'.
This file MD5 came zipped? If yes unzip with other program than winrar and put on slowest speed..... This error is usually an unzip problem....

Oh well. Guess it's a service centre job then if you've tried everything.
BTW, I never believe people when they say that here, because in my experience 99.99999999% of them haven't. They're just looking for an easy fix, and there isn't one in this situation.
Now then...Given the alternative involves you either paying a Samsung service centre a not inconsiderable amount of money to put a new motherboard in, or a lot of mucking around on your part to source a 2nd hand board & then either replace it yourself or pay a local mobile repair shop to do it, or getting a new phone, if I were in your situation, I'd be trying everything in that thread, and I'd be trying it over and over and over. Because the experience on here generally is the majority of these things are fixed by perseverance.
However, up to you what you want to do. Your phone.

I have not tried to .pit update, as i am worried after reading that it will totally break the phone if it does not work.
That is why I am looking for other ways to try before considering .pit thing.
i see epic4g? It might be specific for that device. Try some other odin versions whih are compatible and try it again and dont forget to shut kies off. It causes always problems. As i see its only a soft brick not a hard brick cause its not a nand write error so actually no problem with hardware only need maybe to use the right programs. Never flash.pit file only if it might be your last chance always read if its a nand write error then the most time youre screwed if not then its all fixeable.

Which is suggested in Hopper's thread (try different versions of Odin) & proves my point in my earlier post about you being one of those people saying they've tried everything when they haven't. You could have fixed this two days ago if you'd done exactly as I suggested.

Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900A) Can't Downgrade From 5.0 to Kitkat Through Odin

ODIN fails when trying to install stock firmware
Hey Guys,
Just joined the forum today, look forward to working with everyone here. I am new to this so please bear with me.
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900A) which I had previously upgraded to 5.0 Lolipop. Since I can't seem to root my Lolipop device, I figured I would try downgrading my firmware to KitKat, rooting kitkat, then installing the prerooted lolipop (Does that make sence?)
Ive downloaded and tried versions 3.07 and 3.10 of ODIN. I installed some samsung drivers, assumed they were good since my computer recognized the device. Also made sure the S5 was in debugging mode.
Here is what I get on Odin after running it:

I read that if it fails, you should pull the battery out, restart your computer and/or try a different version. I have tried all of that. I am currently downloading the stock firmware from a different website to see if maybe that is the problem, but figured I would ask the experts whileit's downloading on my slow internet.
Is there anything obvious I am doing wrong? Any suggestions on how to fix this? (or how to root my AT&T S5 5.0 since that is the reason I am doing this all...)
Any help is greatly! Thanks,
Jake

Problem i tried to solve was stuck in samsung logo and not booting to os.
Did i broke it compeletely?
Hi first I would try to flash with old version of odin , for example odin 3.12 or 3.10 not the latest one .
If you are able to boot your phone to download mode is okay , just try another firmware for your region also use latest one !!!
If that doesn't help you try with DBT firmware which is without brand providers : ) ...
Good Luck : )
