The minimum specs well exceed the hardware of our phone, but we're not supposed to be able to run JellyBean either, so I guess it might be possible
I wouldn't mind trying it anyway, it looks pretty good.

Why N1, Nexus S is available and better,
or Sony Ericsson Xperia ARC ( release date: April )
Nexus one is an awsome device.. I own one
But it has the same touch screen capability as X10 ---- > Dual touch
Considering the timely updates you get with nexus one... I think it is best bet.
I would recommend Nexus S
Well i bought a nexus one from google when they were available and it wasnt to long before i got rid of it for the X10 and havent regretted it yet.
Thats my thoughts.

how would you judge the two phones when it comes to the x10's 8megpix ??
xperia x10 with the all modifications.. same as Nexus S..
I wouldn't recommend nexus one because you are just exchanging for a pure Google experience product. Megapixel doesn't determine picture quality. Its all about the lens, sensor, and image processing software. Pix quality of course x10 is better than nexus one.
Go for nexus S or wait longer for dual core devices. X10 doesn't have Froyo and Nexus S's hardware doesn't perform as good as the hummingbird CPU in Nexus S.

How long have you have your X10? I wouldn't change it before "squeezing" all its potential.
My advise: keep it at least one more half of a year, and then start looking for your next phone. Now, if you can't wait and if you wish to keep in SE's line, Arc is your option, but for me, is not a great phone, I only remark the Bravia Displa, Gingerbread and the HDMI plug-in, anything else is not a big deal.
Or Nexus S.
hey guys... thanks a lottt...
ive been using the x1 only fr about a few months..
tried out most of the roms out there
guys.. but dont you think the nexus one is worth it ?? its htc after all
plus... the AMOLED.. n when it comes to updates ????
comments pls
Correct me if i am wrong, but i remember nexus one have an exact same proc with x10, which mean it's not actually an upgrade if you change your x10 into a nexus one. The only better thing is RAM. --in terms of hardware.
If I where you, I'd try and remember why you bought the X10 in the first place. I mean, the Nexus One was already available when you bought your X10, so obviously it has some qualities that made you choose it in the first place. I am guessing it was the look of the device, and the camera, right? Those are the X10's biggest distinguishing features, so I would like for another Android device that comes close to those.
As far as camera is concerned, there probably is no better Android available yet. Maybe the Samsung Galaxy S is the next best thing in this regard?
As far as looks is concerned, nothing really comes close yet, in my opinion. Although I really like the way the HTC Desire Z looks for some reason (and I don't normally like HTC designs, too boring).
But why are we even talking about these old phones? Next month it's time for the Mobile World Congress 2011, during with numerous new Android phones will be introduced and some will even be released by then, with brand new hardware like dual core processors and new versions of Android that will make our current phones look really outdated. Right now seems like a bad time to switch to another phone: I would wait for just a little while longer.

no need to get N1, its the same gen as X10
if u want the best current gen phone then get HTC Desire HD / HTC Desire Z
the dual core phones will take a bit of time (3+ months) to come to market...
The Nexus One is ugly.
Stay with the X10 until dual core phones come out.

Honestly, it doesnt even seem like a question to me. Especially with the new roms that are wiping the floor with the other current gen phones. Just sayin.

If one is a color purist like me, then the AMOLED screens are a DISADVANTAGE, actually. And it's going to stay that way until a new-gen AMOLED arrives which doesn't mess with the saturations.

Can any one bring Windows Phone to our Xperia S?

Can any one bring Windows Phone to our Xperia S?
i think it will be eẽexcited because our XPS's hardware is not bad compared to WP phone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4upYZHkgzt4
Hardly possible and completely unreasonable.
Let me get this straight, you want to run WP7 which only supports single core, on a dual core phone? Well arent you a clever chappie.

You can run Android on your laptop because it's open source and someone can build it for your laptop. Windows Phone isn't, therefore you can only run it if Microsoft allows you to, which they obviously don't do for Android devices.
Maybe try launcher 7 from market

It won't be possible right now, not any Sony phone.
Windows Phone currently only has support for 800x480 displays, and no Sony (Ericsson) phone has ever had that resolution as far as I know.

It is a prototype, and an old one (judging by the Sony Ericsson logo on the top bezel), which is also specifically designed for Windows Phone, as there's a Windows Flag logo / button on the bottom bezel. Whatever resolution that has, it has never gone into retail.

webos port :)

Hey guys,
Do you think it would be possible to have a port of webos on the rezound.? The beta was just released and I am curious if someone could get it to happen or want it too? Not telling people to do it ,but just curious if people are interested .
Thank you

Unless you wanna do it yourself. everyone's busy with aosp or just source in general. So short answer:
No way.
We really don't want to run an obsolete OS that was dropped about a year ago and will probably never exist again.
ill do this after touchwiz and android cupcake.
cupcake? really? wtf lol...I would have gone with froyo or eclair

WebOS won't be able to work on this device because we'd have to get RIL working on it first. WebOS is only going to be able to be on devices that are in the official AOSP repository (Nex1, S, GNex, Nex7, Xperia P) or devices that have been fully cracked open for development (HD2, DInc, GS2, etc) so most devices probably won't get WebOS unfortunately

Its sweet but the real problem is who actually wants it? I have a feeling someone will port it and everyone will use android. Like on the touch pad.

[Q] [P] Ubuntu Phone OS

Well. This is a step in the right direction
But. Can Ubuntu Phone OS run on Xperia P? And if so, will we see a port of it on P?
I would be happy if so
In 2 years maybe MAYBE. The number of developers on this platform is very low almost none. We cant get jb running, so what do you expect? Time will tell

I rly hope some great dev will port it, since I used Ubuntu almost all my life

Theres a petition that may speed up the development and release of ubuntu for our phones: https://www.change.org/petitions/ca...evelopers-com-as-testers-for-ubuntu-for-phone. Please help to sign it.

Ubuntu player?

Ubuntu phone ROMs are available for Nexus devices, and from what little I've read, if you can install CM10 you can install Ubuntu. I know we have some CM10 projects, but is anyone interested in trying to get Ubuntu phone to run on a Player?

It is definitely possible however it hasn't been fully released yet, it would be quite difficult to port it at this stage.

Just to give you guys a heads up.
The Ubuntu touch Dev preview is just a preview. Hardly anything works and it's just not made to be used right now. So I don't think the D's devs would waste their time on this.
