[Q] Smoothest Rom? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hey guys I just bought the Asus Transformer Prime tf201 I have had android phones before... G1, HD2, now HTC One X and I have always flashed a custom rom.... This is my first time dealing with tablet roms.
I was wondering what is the smoothest Transformer Prime Rom
And what Rom had the most customization :fingers-crossed:
Also how much different is tablet android from smartphone android?
Thanks

Androwook with a fast sdcard
The prime problem is the slow integrate drive.
To solve it get a super fast sd card and install Androwook with the sd option

Would I use an app like App2SD to transfer to my SD card? Also is a class 10 SD card good? I have a class 10 32gb sdcard on my prime.

Just out of curiosity, with my phone, it's old, but still there are a lot of ports and new ROMs out there. How come there isn't a lot of this for the tablet? It seems like aside from CM10, there is just stock deoxed and stock tweaked versions. Am I missing something?

No just put your class 10 card and when you will install the roms there will be a option to have app to sd it will take care of everything

Is there any decent video about Androwook powered Prime? Only videos I found were just about navigating settings and home screens. I think a quad core tablet should be able to handle navigating settings without lag even with stock rom. I want to see is the tablet usable if you have a download going on in the background and does it lag like hell when browsing the web.

Is Androwook updated to work on the latest JB bootloader?

It did on ics and before... they turned a new leaf with jb. running either wook or energy enhances this. Dls in play dont bog the system, browser dls are a fart in the wind...and you are upwind lol.

The movie "The Green Hornet" is in a hidden folder on the sd card....PERIOD!!!!! That is your answer, can't be anymore straight forward than that.
i found the movie under .data htcwatch preloaded movies and i copied all of the files to the movie over to my 16gb micro.
It's on the SD card. I couldn't play it until I copied the stock card over to my new card.
Yes its on the SD CARD. Look in the .data folder. No data, but .data that .(dot)data

Yes, I have it on my 3D and it looks amazing with the qHD screen. The resolution actually looks better than it does on my computer (probably because it's more compact and not stretched).
Pay the $2.99 for it on the Amazon App store and support the company for making such a great game.
I did not copy anything from the original SD Card and my spiderman worked just fine

Do you guys know that the EVO 3D takes a SDHD (HD) sdcard? You can't put a regular micro SDHC card in there. Cuz I bought a "Lexar" class 6 16gb micro SDHC card from Lexar, for $60. The manager at the sprint store said I couldn't use it in my EVO 3D, cuz it took a SDHD sdcard, not a SDHC.

Good launchers and web browsers for the TF300T?

Well I've been trying to find good tablet launcher but all I can find decent is Nova launcher. Any recommendations? Stock lags a bit when multitasking so looking for something efficient ^_^ and thanks in advance . Hopefully this would be useful to other noob members like myself.
I'm also looking for a good browser that don't force close and flash videos can fullscreen, so far the only browser that lets me fullscreen flash videos is stock but it lags sometimes and annoys me
I'm not rooted just FYI I'll be waiting for fully stable CM releases later on ^_^

I like nova launcher the best, although apex is popular among Galaxy Nexus devs for some reason. But both have the same features like ADW themes, folders and whatnot.
I'm now using the go launcher hd, it's completely free and it's much, much smoother than the stock launcher.
I have never use nova/apex, what's the major difference between go launcher and nova/apex??
I haven't used go launcher hd but Apex and Nova are like an enhanced stock ICS launcher.

Yup I'm using Nova.. Apex lags when on power saving mode... lol kinda dissapointed my g2x tegra 2 under clocked to 750mhz doesnt lag with apex.. then again custom rom/kernel
Im a bit skeptical on current unlock/roms available ill wait till they get polished to have as daily use ,I dont like to keep updating and changing roms so often.

I've been using ICS Browser+ the last couple weeks for my browser. Happy with it. Like a modified version of stock browser. Feel it has more customization, more stable and I get fewer wait/force close notifications. Flash works fine with it.
I'm pretty happy with go launcher HD , but haven't tried anything else besides stock.
Dolphin will do flash.

Dolphin was my first choice and it did not do fullscreen flash videos but gota say I'm impressed with icsbrowser+ it simply works and its fast most stable i have seen yet for my tablet
I recommend overskreen it is 2$ but what it does is really nice and worth it for every tablet , it stays on top of any screen or app etc and u can resize it how you want its prety fast toobut it wont handle flash vids fullscreen when needed. Sure most of these browsers will fix that common problem eventually.

I honestly just use the stock launcher. I have nova and adw installed but don't really like them. Adw is too much and nova is ok but the ASUS widgets don't look right. That opinion will probably change for me later on. For the browser I really like how chrome shares of everything with my laptop. Thought about giving browser + a look though cause I do like the stock browser. Ics did a good job with everything almost to where the second launchers and browsers aren't really necessary like they were in the 2.2 days.

I've been running with just the stock launcher really, haven't looked into alternative launchers yet.
Been using Dolphin HD for a while since I wanted LastPass integration, but before I did a factory reset (unrelated issues) it'd crash a lot with the latest version, hopefully that was just a random issue. It's fairly good otherwise and LP support through a plugin is very nice.

Dolphin cant handle fullscreen on latest firmware and my stock browser is actually being way faster than any other browser.. I'm honestly astonished by how its performing after the build.prop change. Only browsers that can handle fullscreen right now is stock and ics browser+ ( based on stock)

64gig sd

Just picked up a 64gig sandisk sd formatted with easeus and it works with everything. Album music everything you dont need apps like poweramp and whatnot they must have added support. So much storage spaaaaccceeee

In my case sandisk 64gig also works well. I have 64 gb microsdxc with sd adapter. I formated it via xperia arc from stock exFat to Fat32. Vendor apps sees sdcard also.

Do you mean putting app data ( eg big games ) from sd/android/data to sdcard2 sth like move 2 sd option? I havent found solution/app for doin that. Maybe someone else could help you. Btw sony reader 3.0 didnt scan sdcard2 storage.
Ok thanks anyway

I use SCRIPTER from google play. I've had a lot of success with this program. At the moment I am using a 32gb class 10 using the script
mount -o bind /mnt/sdcard2/data/ mnt/sdcard Space after mount, bind and space before the second mnt. With this config the sony only shows up the 32gb sdcard. If you have anything on the internal memory I would guess you will have to download the apps again.
This is particularly good for all those hungry games that require data.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Regards,
David.
I found one called binder and u just press the button and it does everything for you including.moving the files

Wow he must have some gigantic bluerays hahah
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app
720p H.264 Matroska is typically around 4GB for a movie, and if they want 1080p that's typically 8GB, so it's understandable that a blu ray disk encoded to H.264 would be that large and present an issue if you are limited to FAT32 filesystem file sizes
Why would you want that on a tablet?? 750mb movies look just fine on this small as screen
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using xda app-developers app
Well, 1080p files would be kinda pointless on this tablet because it's only capable of 720p resolution and would have to downscale and possibly loose image quality, but 720p movie files are not unreasonable. I suppose some people may want to utilize the maximum resolution afforded to them by this tablet (1280x800, whereas 720p is 1280x720). Since most HD quality movies are ripped to the Matroska H.264 file format, it's not unreasonable to assume someone might want to get the most out of their tablets by watching the files at 720p resolutions since it is capable of that.
Exactly its just a waste haha

Any of you gentlemen have had any issues creating data on a micro sdxc?
I just picked up a 64gb sandisk micro sdxc, formatted to fat32, yet I am unable to create any data on the sd card.
I encounter an error whenever I try to make a new folder. Copy/Pasta doesn't work either. I am on an unrooted Xperia Tablet S 4.0.3(release3).
Halp!
I've got a Kingston 128GB formatted at exFAT (did it on my laptop) and it works just fine on my Xperia Tablet S 4.0.3 (release6b). Now I remembered that the update 6b is exactly to provide support for SDXC (64 or 128 gb) cards so I guess you have to update?

Freezing during streaming video

I have an 8gb, and no matter what ROM I use, streaming video freezes. Like YouTube. Has anyone else seen this? Video stops but sound keeps going. Have you found a ROM that doesn't do it?
I thought I read before that it was an old kernel issue but the ROMs I've been trying lately seem to have a newer one. I don't know.
Thanks

Mostly all the ROMs have this issue. I haven't found one that fixes the problem. Hopefully that is changed soon.
I have the 16 GB, but I have experienced that "video stops, sound goes on" thing in some ROMs. I haven't had it happen since I installed Succulents 1231 build of CM10 though. http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/03/cm10-0-jelly-bean-for-nook-tablet-uploading/
I don't play lots of streaming video though, so maybe I've just been lucky, but on the ROMs where I have noticed the problem it has occured very frequently. And with this one not at all...
Edit: I now see that Datallboy uses that same ROM on the 8GB and still has the problem. So I guess the fact that it works on my 16GB is of no help to those with 8GB. :crying:
Thought I'd give an update. I've been using the slimbean ROM and haven't seen the issue yet. But the ROM itself isn't that fast.

That issue came from cm10 up to now. To avoid of this, I choose to install youtube alternative app called "smart tube" set the quality of video to 360p and the device doing very well.

I never had this issue with Succulent's final CM10.0, but have run into it with some CM10.1 builds, typically when I had not done a clean install (i.e., wiping /data partition) in which cases doing an un-install/re-install of YouTube would fix it.
Dang Slimbean rom does it too. If anyone figures this out let me know.
