Possible P769BK recovery image - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Here is an image that I found posted on another phone hacking web site. Please be careful as I am not sure if it is for the P769BK. But it was labled as so.
***Link Removed***** <-- I found out from another forum that this firmware is for the P769AT.
The file is in *.bin and *.fls format. I have not found a way to re-combine it into a KDZ. If anyone has the knowledge and is willing to risk a "currently" unrecoverable softbrick, go for it and let us know.
Remember, the P769BK (T-Mobile L9) does not have a KDZ available for performing recovery.
Here is the dll file that is required for flashing.

LG Flash software:

LG Service Manual:

SmartFlash tool is suppose to restore a phone using .bin and .fls files.
I won't be trying it but it might be a tool to try in a bind.

We are used to (did at least 50+ times) SmartFlashing BIN+FLS files on Unbrickable )) LG O2X (p990) recently, when new ICS bootloader and partition layout was introduced by LG for O2X and various SmartFlashable custom roms appeared on forum. Its really very easy to use and allows easy and smooth flashing, if the files are perfect.
There is one useful great tool called ALL-IN-ONE tool which can convert KDZ to FLS+BIN (for smartflash). The tool is known to be applicable for KDZ files for all LG devices. Not only conversions, but this tool can extract FLS+BIN from any devices. It is also claimed as noob-safe (especially for noobs)
P769 people can give it a try, which is noob safe to try, because it only reads rom and writes on PC in required format.

I am sorry guys. I had to remove the firmware link as it was for the wrong model. I don't want anyone bricking a device because of my mistake. From what I read on the other forum is that it will flash but the proximity sensor goes wacky. I would recommend using the P769 firmware from Wind Mobile in Canada as a last resort if you soft-brick a P769BK.

Yes. Thank You for the info. The only issue is that if someone flashes the firmware I posted, they have no way of going back to stock because there is no original firmware for the P769BK available at this time.

I read on a russian forum that it works. The only issue was that the proximity sensor calibration is off. It causes issues. Also wifi calling will not be included.

nice to know if I ever brick my us variant, seeing as my Wind Mobile version is headed to the great white north of Ontario.

I dont have P769 but there is one Official P769 V11A (latest?) KDZ to directly download from LG. You can find link on this page.

Great.
I tried to search for the KDZ download link for this variant but not yet found.
Do you have full specification? GSMarena does not even know this phone exists or not. Only P760 and P769 found in gsmarena, rest are not recognized by them.

Really confusing. They are making minor changes in device and releasing in various regions, while the main features are same including OS.
Looks like they want to divide the consumer base of single model, on the basis of regions. Pure business minded people.

You have posted in 1st post about P778 and there are no roms for this at the moment. We also dont know which other L9 variant is compatible with this model and which hardware will break if flashed by wrong variant. May be you parmanantly loose your screen or your camera may brick or you may get broken network. GOD knows what will happen with your P778.
Why not randomly try all roms and tell us the results? lolz... kidding. dont really try that.
is there a post/thread for listing the differences between the L9 series? If not, there should be. I feel like the variants are getting a bit out of hand

They have mentioned P768 and P765 above the specifications in that small box. Nothing more though.
LG should really focus on Max 2-3 models, or rather 1 or 2. This is another reason of late OTA updates.

[Q] Optimus L7 II Firmware question

Hello!
I was going to install a firmware for this phone (p712) with KDZ from this web.
I'm from Argentina, but I was just wondering what are the differences between the v10C and v10D.
I know the v10C comes with the knock application, but what about the v10D?
I got my phone with the v10B early this year, but I couldn't update with FOTA because it is rooted.
Thanks in advance.
I''ve updated my rooted LG OTA three times without any problem.

It tells me that the update couldn't be done because it found that it's rooted. Maybe it's my phone company that wont let me update.
I rooted it with framrooth 1.9.1.

I remember seeing a post here saying that even after unrooting, the update process noticed the rooting tracks so it didn't perform the update.
Maybe you'd better install CWM before unrooting.

I have already tried unroot and try to update, but doesn't work.
The CWM for this phone is very buggy and can cause soft brick sometimes.
There is no custom roms, only some mods or full KDZ update.
Seems that you are talking about a different phone, and new LGs can only update by FOTA (or kdz of course).

So don't update until you clean all of the root trace. For now, I think it doesn't have much different whether you update or not.
In case you are having problem with your device and want to do KDZ update with firmware stock, you can download here.
I know that your LG Optimus L7 II is newer than mine.
Just keep in touch with this site or you could search anywhere else so that you'd be able to update your device by FOTA.
GOOD LUCK.

Guys you will get a security or certification errror as bump is using the old signature. Bump may still work if we can grab the new signature. I hope that they didn't changed anything about the security. So till now you might have to downgrade bootloader but its risky.

can someone check the kernel source to see if the D801 kernel also has support for the D803 ? The D803 code has not be released at all, while this code has been up for weeks. Moreover, D803 has usually been referred to as D801.

You can see the G3 thread related to that. Autorec may still work but I cant guarantee anything. I will see it later when I have on my D802 the official lollipop kdz. But by then there might be already a good method to get succesfully into recovery with maybe updated signature for bump or something else without downgrading bootloader to kitkat.

Amazing! Success from this user!
Thank you so much!
Many thanks for this successful root of the VS990.
There could have been no better way to log in to XDA after what was the longest hiatus I've taken from checking in on root than to have immediately seen the "paying and praying" for root thread reopened and some 11+ pages of discourse including the unexpected announcement ( very humbly also) that root was achieved.
I almost shat, coming from a long year tied to the Verizon Note 4 which was a great phone except being tied to Verizon keeping it mostly locked up and with temp root not fully doing it for me making it frustrating. I moved on to the V10 thinking foolishly that root would be a lock being that I had seen many LG models rooted ( yes poor ASSumption I know this). Then when finding out that I was wrong, though not surprised, I was seriously disappointed and discouraged with the possible rooting of this phone.
Today however I am pleasantly surprised, very grateful, more than impressed and happy to follow through on my pledge for root.
PayPal money on its way to you tungkick. Thank you for sharing your hard work.

AT&T doesn't release full image KDZ and they won't let LG do it. They only send over the air firmware update, and for those OTA updates you have to be an AT&T customer.
Best to Frankenstein convert to carrier unlocked model US998.
