My scripts for the S2 have now all been updated and incorporated into my S4 scripts

Time and time again I've seen people sleep around with different kernels and flash from kernel to kernel . In time without a good clean you will land into trouble and conflicts.
Welcome to the kernel clean clinic for those of you who flash without protection (ahem... Bob)
Doctor Hawker will cure many of the common issues that occur as mentioned on op.
Please use this as a first step when you encounter issues on a kernel especially if you hop onto another brand of kernel.
You will find debugging a lot easier. Trust me.

The whole point is you don't need to do a whole wipe of delvik and cache?
I don't understand how you don't get that also this cleans specific folders which I belive UKCS never did where junk lies and could have led to conflicts.
All you need to do is flash this script, flash new kernel and fix permissions. That is it.

Just to clarify, you did flash the script BEFORE flashing your kernel?
Media scanning is down to your rom. You may need to flash a media scanning fix, or you may have corrupt media files causing it to loop.
You can also create dummy files called .nomedia in any folders that you want the scanner to ignore which can speed things up significantly

In synopsis of a lay man - it removes all scripts or modifications left by the previous kernel, restoring all to default in order to flash a fresh kernel.
About time we get this on the GS2, I remember using kernal cleaning scripts on the GS1 and it did wonders..
Great to see this and thanks o.p..

Euhm this is a major improvement for me! I had alway worse batterylife then others here. I logged out of latitude, kept an eye on my wakelocks etc.
I also noticed that my top wastes of battery went to ANDROID-SYSTEM. Never exactly knew why.
I used many roms and many different kernels!!!
Since I used this and reflashed the kernel (speedmod or siyah v2.2i) Android system changed from 60% to 7% and 5%.
To all: try this and reflash and please report back!
Thanks for this script!

[Q] Slaid480 script V8.5 and turboboost of Stock rom

Hello
why and how to solve this problem ?
I have a stock rom, and when I install one of these script => Slaid480 script or V8.5 turboboost
The SGA reboot in wifi randomly ,and when I disable the script, the SGA does not reboot.
Thx
Stock ROMs don't support all of the features in SlaidMOD and nor V8.5 Turboboost because it hasn't got a supported kernel.
Try using a custom stock ROM or a Cyanogen build.
Or maybe flash the CF-Root kernel (I'm not sure that'll work, but you can always try).
in my signature I indicate that my kernel is modified.
I also tried with TheMyth ICS lite and I have the same problem.
thx
Ok using root explorer go to system /etc/init.d tell me name of all the files in your init.d folder.

I have almost the same stuffs and it's working for me.
I've installed these things in this order:
- 2.3.5 WKS9 rom via Odin
- CWM 4 from stock recovery
- CF-Root b82 from CWM 4
- Ext4 converter apk istalled in CWM Manager then converted to ext4
- SlaidFastMod V2 from CWM 4
It's working fine i reached 1455 quadrant score with this stock rom and mods
it's pretty good.
So the differences are the rom and the cwm maybe your rom will be the problem ?
or there are different scipts in your initd folder and that causes the problem

How to do a proper full wipe clean installation of Rom
This is to avoid conflicts and problems.
Here is my version of what I did and worked smoothly for me when flashing between lsj roms. This what i did comming from Alliance Rom.
All the tools and zips used are in the link in signature.
Then the steps are :
1. Flash Dorimanx kernel one provided . Reboot into that recovery.
2. Flash rom nuke script.
3. Flash NeatRom LSJ whatever version
4. Flash Dorimanx kernel again and reboot into that recovery
5. Flash siyah kernal version 6.0b4
Reboot into that recovery
6. Clear cache, dalvik and fix permission s
7. Reboot into rom before flashing any mods or fixes to see how it goes.
8. Set up rom exactly how you want and restored apps via titanium.
9. Reboot into recovery and make a backup before flashing any mods, fixes so you have Virgin rom to fall back to just in case you don't like a mod or have issues afterwards.
This is my steps taken and what I did fairly recently when coming back to NeatROM
Links to the attachments and more information until I add here.

[Q] rafael.baugis kernel on stock rom

hi folks,
a nooby question:is it possible to install rafael baugis kernel on a rooted device with stock rom (no custom rom)?
abd where to download the file? in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818830 ist no reference or link to download. or am i just too blind to see?
an if it should be possible: how to install? just follow steps 10-12 or is there anything to keep inmind?

Nope, you dont need to flash stock again. (i would do, but because only i like it to keep it clean tho )
// I love supercharger, the multitasking is awesome, its fast and smooth. But i guess it depends on some other things (CPU I/O settings etc.). But for me i dont want to miss Supercharger.
The only thing where my phone is a bit "unsmooth" is on the "wake up" process after my phone was around 30+ min"afk"
But i guess it's the CPU setting (smartass V2, sio, min: 312, max: 624 - But im testing some settings atm)

Yeah we can (See attached files).
Yeah i tried a lot.
Stock with hells kernel = Phone felt like unsmooth, too less options for CPU tho
Stock without anything = was ok, but.. i wanted more
Stock with rafael kernel + cronmod + silk = bootloop
Stock with rafael kernel + cronmod + adrenaline = unsmooth like hell !!!
And now: Stock with Rafael + Adrenaline Engine + Adrenaline Boost + V6 Supercharger = <3
And btw in the attached files you can see how less memory i need. (I've installed all my apps i needed, like whatsapp, facebook messenger, twitter, some news and sports apps, Radio app, Alarm droid, Tapatalk, K-9 Mail. And I've deleted all the useless crap i dont need )

Why e-mail? LOL this is a forum and the answer is for everybody not just for one person.
Try to remove the battery for 5 minutes then insert it in again and turn into download mode (volune up + down pressed and power button).
If it doesn't work use adb.

[ROM] XNovathor Project 4.1.2 V5

XNovaThor Project
About:
This rom bases on the most current Android (4.1.2) Open Source Project repo That is what makes it special comparing to other custom JB roms like AOKP or CyanogenMod. This rom is fully AOSP, without stuff from AOKP or CM. Don’t even ask if i could add theme engine, custom lockscreen or other crap. Up and running, about 180-190mb of free ram without any apps installed. Very smooth and fast...
Thanks once again
EDIT: there are no sounds (for ringing, alarm,..)
just want to ask, is it compatible with CM kernel?
We still have the Touchscreen issue while charging, right?

Yes, i am on .54 ICS as mentioned.
I dont need to flash fresh .54?
And dont i need to flash the kernel first as mentioned in the comment below yours?
Or does flashing the zip flashes kernel and rom both?
From you instruction, the steps to install this rom after unlocking bootloader would be
1. Full Wipe (Wipe Data, Cache and dalvik cache)
2. Flash the zip
3. Reboot
Right?
PS: Sorry for being OT, i promise this is the last.
