[Mod] Working AutoCorrect and Quicker Long-Press Samsung Keyboard (4.1.1) - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093588
Someone asked for this in QA forum and I ported the changes for them.
It is flashable, but like anything its at your own risk. I have only tested it on Verizon roms.
Edit:
If this doesn't work for odexed folks, let me know.
I've also added a stock zip to return to unmodified state.
There is an apk for 4.1.2 users (ATT, International, CleanRom) as well, but it isn't flashable and I don't have the lib needed to make it flashable. So copy it over and fix permissions. Do NOT throw it into the flashable zip unless you have the right lib as well.

Thanks adrynalyne. Giving it a flash now. This will solve all of my keyboard needs, no more AOSP keyboard!

Nice to see you doing stuff for this phone bro. I Miss BAMF work from my thunderbolt. Hopefully the community doesn't ruin it this time.
Do you mind if I include this mod in my themes?

No, I don't mind at all (not really my mod, I just ported it). I am going to work on a 4.1.2 version for cleanrom and international roms if I get a chance.

I used alot of your tutorials for modding my bolt back in the day....the one thing i am REALLY missing on this phone, you had a way to add the radio settings (4g on, off 3g only etc...) into the main settings. Can u make a mod like that for this phone??
I hate that there isnt that option....or is there and im just a dumbass??
none of the 3rd party apps for that work on verizon?!?

Will this work on rooted stock if I push the files manually and rename the IME odex file?

Yeah...HTC has a nice setup for that. Samsung, not so much. Although, you can use my HiddenMenu app and try to set it through there. Let me dig it up....

Theoretically.

I think this broke my airview nib. Haven't seen it since I flashed this.

I don't see how. Its fairly straightforward.

Here is a 4.1.2 version (International, ATT, cleanrom, etc).
It may implode.
Try it though and logcat it if it blows up. No logcat means its unlikely I can or will fix it...I am just too stubborn and old to flash every rom myself.

The auto correct works in on beans build 6. Awesome I will definitely be using the Samsung keyboard!

Is this one themed? The one in apps is kind of AOSP themed so it doesn't match stock.

Awesome been looking for this however is there any way to do this on a stock rooted phone? I did not unlock my bootloader and install a custom rom so I cannot install the zip file. Anyone know how to do this without a custom rom?

Other Varient Rom Porting

So recently I have been browsing through the forums of the other Galaxy S4 variants and have found some amazing looking roms. I was wondering if it would be possible to port them to our variant. The rom in particular that really caught my eye was the FoxHound rom. It looks amazing and who wouldn't want to see that rom on our Verizon variant. So if anyone knows how or an answer please share.
This has been covered in detail. No porting is needed- you just need to change the APN. You can use just about any rom you want so long as it's not for the i9500.

While it has indeed been covered, you are correct in that I omitted the requirement to change the kernel as well. For the sake of brevity, I oversimplified it. For reference, the op can check the handful of threads in the general forum on this very subject matter.

Data works? So maybe AT&T/TMo ROMs can be flashed, but not i9505s because I haven't been able to get data to work on any i9505 ROM.
Thanks for the input. I will definitely look into this further before I go ahead and try this.
So I can flash international 9505 rom that has move apps to external sd feature?
Your mileage may vary, but I haven't been able to get data to work and when I asked other people they never respond so I'm gonna guess they didn't either. The ROMs will flash perfectly fine though.
I flashed FoxHound for i9505 with a verizon custom kernel as suggested and it flashed fine, but had issues once booted.

The first question would be, why would you want to. The TW features (s voice, gnow, multiwindow, blah blah) are written for the hard keys.
But if you really want to try this. It was written for the S3, But may still serve your purpose.

I know why I'd like to have the AOSP Navbar in TW on my note 2. Because i love to use my stylus, but its a pita to have to use my fingers to go back, home etc. with the Navbar I can strait use the stylus without the hassle of using the hard keys with my fingers or holding the little mini button on the stylus to draw an arbitrary design i create to do what the navbar can do natively.
But alas i've come to find somethings in aosp just dont work right in TW. and i tried the navbar on the note 2 awhile back but I just wasnt impressed. got some FC's here and there etc.
good luck and post up your results. would love to hear if it works for you.
cheers
Thanks Works on Note 3 9005 Android 4.2.2

[Q] What is going on with my Notifications?

Hi.
I'm running Rooted Stock on my new S5 on T-Mobile. I have X-posed Framework and Gravity Box [KK]. Everything is running awesomely, except for one thing:
I've changed my UI sounds to all custom ones and I'm able to set a custom Ringtone for calls. However, when I go to set my Notification tone, it sets in Settings but won't play that sound when a Notification comes in, more direct, new Text Messages. Every other application that one could change their particular Notification sound does work, just not for texts. I've tried changing it in both Sound Settings and within the Message app but nothing. I want to see what options I have before going in and changing that UI sound to a custom one from the system folder.
Anybody have any insight into this?

That's a bit weird, have you messed with any kind of sound settings within gravity box? Some of the settings in their don't apply to the s5, well my S5 in that case.

Sorry to hear bro.. I don't want to say this but did you try a factory reset? If that won't do it I would recommend to odin back to stock firmware and see if It works without rooting. BTW which root method did you do? I know your trying to avoid that so hopefully the factory reset will work?

I rooted using the exploit released when the phone first came out. Also, it didn't work on Stock either. It just kept going back to default, like now. I figured if I rooted it, I'd have other ways to set it but nothing. It's weird as all hell.

hmmmm.. have you tried another ROM other than stock yet? If not, in the development thread there is the "project infinity" ROM. I am currently running that and its smooth, no problems on my end. You should give it a shot since its already rooted. What I would do is odin back to stock and root by using the CF-root method. If that doesn't clear, try a different ROM.

So, I've had a development. A bad one, actually. After trying the ROM, any custom Notifications I try to load play a generic tone from Samsung. Also, now my UI sounds the worked before won't play. So, now I'm at less than what I started with.
EDIT: Got it work. I had to set each audio files permission through Root Explorer. I found this thread that explains it.

[MOD] [WIP] APN/Data/Call Flashable zip for custom ROMs [Status Update 5/16]

Here is a flashable zip for roms to get sprint data to work (flashes the apns from and2 update). This is for future development and possibly to get data for other variant roms as well. Also, this zip may help if data lost for one reason or another (we all know its happened before one way or another). I've also loaded the apn-config with added apns for various variants. Uploaded to help development. This zip will (on international versions right yet) only give data and call signal (only broke thing is sms sending, can receive sms and send/receive mms great). As always....

The international ROMs are currently being worked on to work with Sprint variant, still trying myself to getting the APNs to work currently. They may release update (most ROms reported) before next week with Sprint fix. Normally though, you'd flash kernel after Wipe Data/Cache then ROM flash before kernel or any MODs.

SM-G900F is standard international, GSM, qualcomm version for Samsung S5. Sorry, I goofed in typing, its 1:10 am here haha. But they're porting the ROM for everyone (CDMA and GSM soon). The one I tried so far is Shohat ROM to test some features, but data limits my testing for now. Until data (them or me) gets it working, the ROMs are limited.... for now haha.

Can you try for me another SMS/MMS app such as Go SMS or sliding pro messaging because they have manually configurable points for sending. Just a test if your willing to try. Using inner client from those apps, see if you can send anything.
