CWR (Installation 3G) - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys i have got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 I am not sure if its 3G or 4G as it seems there are two available, its a south African unit, so i am guessing that its related to the European market, i would like to install clockwork recovery and have installed in on my 7inch tab, via odin, i am just wondering what version of CWR should i use or which one is best suited for this tablet? And if anyone could point me to the links for the 3g European version of CWR, or is it possible to use the Wifi only version for this tablet..
Edit. : I have updated to ICS manually via the android menu & have downloaded the Filesfordummies.zip ~ and would like to know if its possible to flash recovery-cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.md5 on my device?
thanks in advance for any help.

If we assume you got a galaxy tab 10.1 and not the down-specified galaxy tab2, my guess would be it's a P-7500
I would in that case recomend go for Cyanogenmod and flash bootloader, modem and recovery (which is clockwork) from either
http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/roms/cm10/p4/ or http://droidbasement.com/galaxy/roms/cm10.1/p4/ depending on if you want CM10(Android 4.1) or CM10.1(Android 4.2)
Read more on Pershoots blog http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/
Choose whichever but DO NOT MIX THEM.... because the filestructure is completely different since Android 4.2 supports multiple useraccounts.
I just love CM10.1, but I'm a bit of a hacker and also a gambler..... If you like it safe, stick to CM10 for now

[Q] flash p7510 roms on p7500

is it possible to flash p7510 roms on the p7500 device? losing 3g would not be a problem for me.

I would like to know that too. Will probably never use 3g neither since teethering is available.
Just go ahead, it works nice. Just as you say, you loose 3G and thats it.
how to backup original firmware and data?
7500 to 7510
I would actually like to flash the other way....from 7500 to 7510. The Market issues drive me crazy since I do not live in the USA. It seems that if you have a radio enabled device then other people have had great luck just using the MarketEnabler app to gain market access.
Has anyone tried this on a 7510? Does it work?
I did, by mistake and it works just fine.
But you are losing mobile Data which might suck from time to time.
I'm loving what I hear here..
As it is as of right now, I see no chance that I'm ever going to use my Tab with a sim-card in it. And as it seems most custom roms are WiFi-only, this would mean no problem installing one of those..
And from what I understand, I could always just flash back my original rom (I'm guessing a Nandroid-backup can be done from CWM ? ) ..
what's the status
For those who have installed p7510 roms to p7500, please let me know the outcome. i've asked around, some say it will brick the tab, but here it says otherwise.. so now im confuse......
i have installed many 7500 roms on my 7510 and nothing is bricked , I can now play gameloft games, that I can't with 7510 roms.
7500 and 7510 is the same and you can install all roms. On the 7500 and on the 7510 (Only the devicenumber will change)
Have anyone tried to flash p7500 ROM on p7510, then mod to enable phone call function? I wonder if this works on p7510 over wifi?
I have Korean Galaxy tab 10.1 3g model. It has DMB Antennae which I don't use, so I flashed P7500 rom on it. I also don't use 3G function, so I flashed 7510 rom again and it works without any problems.

[Q] Questions regarding CWM and ROM's

Since My new Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7500 3G) is arriving tomorrow, and I have a few questions now:
1. Since the P7500 has 3g and P7510 don't,can custom roms that are made for the P7510 be used with the P7500?
2. Is the odin flashable CWM the same on both devices, or do they have different versions? (Like a special P7500 CWM)
1. Since the P7500 has 3g and P7510 don't,can custom roms that are made for the P7510 be used with the P7500?
No, it will not work, or kinda. You won't have the 3G option in settings
2. Is the odin flashable CWM the same on both devices, or do they have different versions? (Like a special P7500 CWM)
No, they are different

Thanks for the answers!
I am aware, that 3g won't work after flashing a P7510 ROM, but since I have wlan everywhere, I don't need it(when I bought my TAB it was cheaper than the Wlan only version).
I was searching for the flashable CWM, but the only thing I found is this:
http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=2439
I'm not sure if one of these downloads is for my Tab P7500.
Could someone please point me to the right version of CWM for my Galaxy Tab P7500? I don't want to brick it yet with the wrong software
Bump with additional info:
My Galaxy Tab 10.1 arrived today.
Model: GT-P7500 (Not LTE!)
Version: 3.1
Baseband: P7500XXKG7

[Q] How to Unroot Or Upgrade to 3.2 Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi Only (GT-P7510)

I'm new to this forum & to android systems. This is my first android device.
I bought a Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 (wifi)GT-P7510 recently.Since I could not find my language on it I rooted it .But after I installed tiff files by replacing the existing one/s I couldn't boot the tab.So I had to use a backup(given on the rooting package) that has been saved on my tab. As a result now I have a rooted tab with HC 3.1 . I want to have 3.2 which I had when I bought the tab. I cannot get updates since its rooted.I cannot return to stores bcos its rooted.I cannot sell it for a reasonable price b'cos it has an older version.
Could someone help me please either to unroot in 3.1 or to updagrade to 3.2 (rooted) or to android 4.0
Thank you
Details of my device:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 wifi (GT-P7510)
Build number HMj37.UEKG4
Kernel version:2.6.36.3
I think the answer most people would like to give you: use the search function!
But since I'm in a good mood today.. go to sammobile.com, register and go to the firmware page, search (!) for "p7510" and get the firmware you desire (version/country). For the flashing part, well.. let's just say you can find that out yourself, maybe there's a guide on the same site as well.. (could it be?)

thanks for your advice.
I checked for the firmware of my samsung galaxy tab 10.1 (UEKG4)
I could not find the firmware .It was bought in The Netherlands.

Well, for The Netherlands you should take the latest firmware for Europe (or Open Europe, don't know the difference, just take most recent). After you flash that, you'll probably get XEN as your code.

Lack of Dev Support for SHW-M250x Series

This is yet again another "Lack of Support" finding for a SGS2 phone, particularly the Model Phones that belong to the SHW-M250x family. I have an SHW-M250K model from Olleh KT of Korea, and due to its coding, it creates a boot-loop when trying to root with an GT-I9100 secure rooting kernel. I have tried using Odin, polled cyanogene, CF-Root, SuperOneClick; the lot seems to deal with only the International Variety coded GT-I9100.
The main differences that i have found is the language support, length of SMS messages, the use of an external antenna for a built-in TV tuner, and NFC support in the battery when paired with a USIM containing an NFC Ident. So Samsung blew up the SE Asia model with some nice features but unfortunately, not with the rooters/devs in mind.
My question is, is anyone currently working on SHW-M250x family rootkit? I'm about to go the route of starting to load Zipped ROMs to the SD card, because from reading on here, it seems like you do not need to obtain root access to be able to flash a rom, provided it is done in 3e mode from your properly formatted SD card. But if there is a root available to SHW-M250x family users, i would definitely be delighted to know.
Thanks,
Gig
Samsung Galaxy S II - SHW-M250K (Olleh) - Android ICS 4.0.3
Now, i did take a look at this thread (before i get flamed)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746794
But noted that again, it quoted use with the I9100 variety and even says with MOST ICS phones.
TBH, both phones look darn near the same and it is hard to tell the difference unless you pull out the antenna. I will give it a shot when i get off work. But I'm still worried about whether my USIM got fried or something. Phone has picked it up ONCE since i upgraded to ICS stock. I wasn't rooted before.
Thanks,
Gig

Looks like the root from CWM that you install on a SDCard worked. I will log any issues as i dink around with my phone.
I know one already, after rooting, ICS 4.0.3 Airplane Mode Quick Button when you hold down the power button is good for turning it on, not for turning it off.
More to come.

Ok so after rooting SHW-M250K, tried flashing kernel with Siyah and got stopped at the Flash Screen. So Siyah (for now) does not work as a kernel. So far, root proves possible with at least this model. More to come.

So after a lot of trying and failing i decided to go back to gingerbread...however i have been under the impression that no one cared enough about the Korean version to capture the Stock rom for GGB 2.3.6.
LEAVE IT TO THE RUSSIANS.
After tiring searching the googlenet, i found a site (in russian) that has the SHW-M250x family stock GGB roms.
I will not post the link yet, because i'm downloading the rom right now to try it out. Hopefully i do not have my hopes up for nothing.

[Q] How can I upgrade the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to ICS 4.0 or Jellybean?

My sister has an original galaxy tab 10.1. I noticed it is running Android version 3.1
The tablet was purchased in the US, though she's not currently in the United States. Not sure if that matters, but she's not received any OTA update.
This is a WIFI only tablet. How can I remotely upgrade it to ICS 4.0 or Jellybean. She doesn't want any customized ROM on it.
Firstly, where can I get stock ROM for ICS 4.0?
Secondly, if I remote into her PC, I am able to see the contents of her tablet, when it is connected to her laptop. Does that help?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831040
The link above has all the stock roms but prerooted. I flashed the rogers one for my dad through CWM the other day worked very good.
You can flash CWM recovery through odin and then update it through ROM Manager app.(That is how I did it)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239185
this is for the wifi version, if you have any other version you have to find the model number and search how to root it.
at the end, you will have a tab that look like stock but is rooted.
