Remove power saver option No Root? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Not rooted. Thing is annoying and taking up real estate. Any break throughs since 3.15 originally dropped to get rid of it without being rooted?

I don't really think so. Not a 100% but I haven't came across anything.

I thought you could go to manage apps and in the power saver app uncheck show notifications.
I rooted the day I got my EVO so not sure if that'll work.

Ota update?

Did anyone else get this today? Got it and still s-on, only thing that I noticed is that the option to go into the phone dial pad directly from the lock screen is gone. Has anyone else noticed what changed?

To get the dialer option back you will have to do a hard reset.

I did the update and my phone sleeps as it is supposed to ... no issues but the missing icon. No way I'm going to hard reset over an icon right now.
Will not work long term. It only fixes it temporarily. Dont worry guys HTC will fix us up.
edit: also green hornet movie will work after the OTA that is the only thing i noticed right off besides the phone icon disappearing.

How to get rid of the screen saver??

My dad has a gtab 10.1 and after a minute or so with the screen on, a stupid "galaxy tab ooh la la" screen saver turns on and makes the thing almost lock up. We have to press the power button to get it to turn off and then turn back on.
How do I get that screen saver to not turn on?? I can't find anything in settings and can't find anything in a search on here.
Any help is appreciated. This is my first post in this gtab forum

Hello.?

Probably it's an app or something that is installed. Check the app list and delete any apps that might be related. I don't have any screensavers on mine. Can you check the list of running apps in the settings?
I agree that would be really annoying.
Em u mean LockScreen,right?
That is the app that is used by stores to demo the features of the tab. I don't recall the name, but it was available from the Samsung App Market or whatever it was that came installed on the stock Tab. You should be able to simply uninstall that app to get rid of the screensaver.
Thank yoi, kind sir

Missing notifications with screen off.

Is anyone else's wifi turning off with the screen off even though that setting has not been enabled?
I am missing notifications because of it.
I have had this issue on both stock and custom Roms.
Would love suggestions on a solution. The my s2 never has this issue.
Thanks

Yup...happens quite often and it's infuriating. From what I read, it happend on the original One X as well and it was fixed, but it appears the same issue exists on the X+. HTC FTW. Ugh.
We need this. Apparently it's a power saving function. f'ing HTC.

Never had this issue when i have the power saver option set to have data connection on while screen is off ... make sure you have UNTICKED the radio button in the power saver options or it will keep turning it off

I'm concerned about no more deep sleep. On my s2, wifi notifications would still be received even in deep sleep. This app may burn the battery fast.

Edit:
FIrst off, I will say that I have ALWAYS had the box unticked which said "Data Connection: put to sleep when screen is off"
I have now for the past few hours experimented with ticking it. Wifi does not appear to be going to sleep with this option ticked
I am a native English speaker, and I must say that the way this is not written clearly. What it must mean is it puts the phone modem to sleep with the screen off but not the wifi. So therefore, when the box is unticked the phone modem must have priority (a guess)
HTC have really made this option unclear. I will continue to tick the box and report back if there are any more issues but this counter-intuitive box appears to be working.
Never mind, I still have the problem.
Wifi still turns off with screen constantly whether the box is ticked or not.
Anyone else?

[Q] Replacement Phone

Here's a little background on my situation. I've had the same EVO since launch day. Just recently one of my capacitive button lights has been going out. It's the back button to be exact. The light is noticeably dimmer than all the rest. If I tap that corner on a table it will turn back on to normal brightness but it eventually goes back to being dim. I was wondering if anyone here knew if I could just take it to the sprint store to get a replacement phone or if I would have to go through the insurance company?

Whenever I have encountered a problem like this I usually take it to the store. They always want to do a factory reset and sometimes I let them, sometimes not. Every time I have walked out after they order me a phone. It's worth a shot.

Do they check for s-off or root? This would be my first time going in for my phone and I just want to make sure what I have to prepare for.

Most stores don't care, but I usually unroot just to be safe.

A couple questions before I buy

I am 99% positive I am going to be getting this awesome phone tomorrow but there are a couple nit picky things I was wondering about. First is there a way to get rid of the power saver notification? Can I get rid of the nfc icon in the status bar?
Last question what is the easiest way to get all my apps and data from my HTC one X to the new One?

You can use the backup app from htc which makes it very simple to get apps and data onto your one from the one x, but Im not sure if thats on the att version
I found if you long press rhe power saver notification and go into app info and force stop the power app the norltification goes away. Not sure how thats going to affect anything else or what happens on reboot but just thought I'd let you guys know
