A couple questions before I buy - AT&T HTC One (M7)

I am 99% positive I am going to be getting this awesome phone tomorrow but there are a couple nit picky things I was wondering about. First is there a way to get rid of the power saver notification? Can I get rid of the nfc icon in the status bar?
Last question what is the easiest way to get all my apps and data from my HTC one X to the new One?

You can use the backup app from htc which makes it very simple to get apps and data onto your one from the one x, but Im not sure if thats on the att version

I found if you long press rhe power saver notification and go into app info and force stop the power app the norltification goes away. Not sure how thats going to affect anything else or what happens on reboot but just thought I'd let you guys know

Remove power saver option No Root?

Not rooted. Thing is annoying and taking up real estate. Any break throughs since 3.15 originally dropped to get rid of it without being rooted?

I don't really think so. Not a 100% but I haven't came across anything.

I thought you could go to manage apps and in the power saver app uncheck show notifications.
I rooted the day I got my EVO so not sure if that'll work.

Aosp 4.1x - 4.2.2 torch time out

Hey all, I have a question for all you out there in XDA land, rezound county. Is there a way to prevent the torch app from timing out when the screen shuts off? It is really annoying, as the toggle and app day it is solo on. I have only encountered this issue on this device. My old T-bolt and Eris before that never had the issue. Is it an ICS/JB thing or device specific?

I tried to play with the code in the android.XML once. I was obviously unsuccessful. One thing i noticed is that it uses the keep screen on command rather than android.permission.wakelock when i changed it the app would force close so i missed something somewhere relating to permissions. I haven't messed with it in awhile but i may try again when i get my new computer

Removing status bar icons?

Is there a way to only have the percentage to show? I currently have the percentage and battery icon showing in the status bar.
While I'm here, how can I remove the 4G LTE icon to only show when I actually have data toggled on? I know it animates when data is on, but it's clutter in my eyes.
I would like to add that I get 3 or more icons that show up and completely fill my status bar when I'm charging my phone on my computer.
I find I have lots of icons on my status bar when I'm charging my phone, if it helps, I'm using the ATT version of my m8.

I noticed this too. That was one of the many things prompting me to turn mine into a Google Play Edition. So much unnecessary clutter. And something about AT&Ts LTE icon pissed me off lol.
Besides using different roms I'm not sure of a way to change that though...

I got the Best Buy edition. Amber Gold doesn't look half bad, but yeah, if getting the Google Play Edition means that, should have gotten it.

No. You did the right thing. Just as last year with m7, you can fully convert it to a GPe

Annoying icon in notification tray..not NFC!

This morning I noticed an icon I haven't seen before in my notification tray and it won't go away. I tried restarting and I tried shutting down and then turning back on and its still there. I have looked around a bunch and can't find any answers. I have attached two pictures so you can see what I'm talking about.
Can anyone tell me what it is and how to get rid of it? I know it has to do with htcdm.apk but I didn't want to just stop the process to get rid of it.
Thank you in advance.

I have an annoying icon in my status bar and it is NFC! How do did you get rid of it? I've used rom Toolbox and froze anything relating to NFC but the icon still persists.
EDIT: Facepalm number 2! Found where NFC was and just turned off. Still feeling my way around this device

The text in the notification pulldown ("Device management is . . .") doesn't seem to correspond to the usual update notification. Any idea what the rest of it said?
I didn't actually received the notification (unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom ROM a day after buying the phone!). But from past experience on other HTC phones, it usually just says "System update available" or something to that effect.
