[Root] How to root JELLYBEAN - Galaxy Ace II Android Development

Since i saw a leak by izap in the general forum, i found out that my root file for the GT-I9070 should work for this device as well.
Also, keeping in mind the nature of new xda users, i create this thread.!
It is a hassle free process. No kernel changing required.
It doesn't increase the binary counter.
Download here : Root
How to :
1. Download the zip and place it in the root of your sd card.
PS : SD Card is a must.
2. Reboot to the stock recovery.
3. Select install update from external storage.
4. Select the root.zip file.
5. Viola
Enjoy your rooted JB.
Note : This method has been derived from a method to root SGS2. Thanks to Phil3759 and his thread.
Be a sport. Buy me a coffee..!!

It's Voila* not Viola xD

Mmm, anyone experienced the issue where the Android System Recovery just doesn't respond to you pressing anything. It literally doesn't do anything, you can scroll up and down but not press anything. The android image in the middle of the screen has an exclamation mark, but I can't remember if that was there before.

I suggest using the terminal method, in JB since getting into CWM is hard for others.

Umm, I am an idiot. I can get into ODIN flash mode, but not to Stock Recovery... how do I do that?

So ive been seeing a lot of how do i use i777 zImage with xx rom for i9100 and make it work... So heres how
Method one
1. Get zImage from aokp if ur doing aosp rom or entropy or siyah with mic swap if ur doing tw. must be i777
2. Flash rom of choice...
3. Push kernel using heimdall or if u can make cwm
a. you can also unzip rom nd replace zImage in rom then rezip and flash
4. Go to market get es file explorer and set root rights
5. Go to /system/usr/keylayout
6. Modify sec_touchkey.kl and make it look like this:
key 158 BACK VIRTUAL
key 139 MENU VIRTUAL
key 107 SEARCH VIRTUAL
key 28 HOME VIRTUAL
7. Reboot
8. Enjoy and hit thanks

Help me please! Recovery question

I just rooted my phone and its on gingerbread. I used Rom manager to download and install a cwm recovery..whenever I click anything in the recovery its just a blank screen with the recovery logo and it wouldn't let me wipe, flash, reboot, or power off. I'm trying to install an ics Rom. Is there any other recovery I can use? If so, please provide me with the link or file and tell me how to flash the recovery so that I may actually flash an ics rom

If you have recovery still ( I dount it) you can flash supersu zip.

So custom recovery I meant (like cmw, TWRP or philz) When your phone boots the led will light up a colour (green or purple or blue) before the boot animation (the waves). Then you can present a volume key or power key to boot into recovery. A little something something like https://youtu.be/0LIwOdd4Uck

Ok. Yea have a look at that thread that I linked. I've never used that method so I'm not sure if it'll work on you build but it's you best shot. It also installs kingroot i think instead of superuser or supersu so you might want to look at changing that after you have root, I'm sure someone would have said how to do it in the thread.
Also as an FYI there is a thanks button for people that helped you and don't forget to search there's a wealth of knowledge on xda.
