Sick!!! good job op. I live for my music! This will help for sure.
Just to clarify, the beats option does work with the stock htc player, but "beats" is the only option available at this time. Any other player, and the full musicbox will work.
I will be hitting up some friends, and see about the stock music player. But for now, i recommend google player, or noozy.

I'm going to try it on a modded stock room now

Guys, it "should" generally speaking, work on any rooted dna rom. We just havent tested on any others. So, please report back to the op with results.

Power Amp, Player Pro, JetAudio Plus, Winamp. That is only a few of the popular ones. They are paid apps that also has free trials to try before you buy. Many more players on google playstore but, any of the ones I just listed in my opinion is going to be good. Give each one i listed a try with headphones and without and see which ones you will like the most before you buy one. Some head phones sound better than others.

Anyone can confirm this mod is working on HTC Butterfly X920D please?
Thanks,

I went to go edit my settings (turned off beats, used bass boost to try out), after I was done doing so I unplugged my buds. Plugged em back in like 5 mins and I have no way to edit settings again. Options arent showing in notification bar and I cant turn beats on or off.
Edit, was using double twist and power amp.
Maybe Im just derping and missing something here.

Please let me understand. ViperDNA comes with Beats. You can turn it on/off from settings. It doesn't have any feature but it works. How this mod is going to interfere with the native beats?

This is musicbox, which brings a lot of options for "beats", that the DNA doesnt come with.

I use power amp myself daily. U should have an option on the volume screen on poweramp that says HTC FX. Click on that and it should take u to the beats screen.
All else fails u can go into settings and click on beats there.

OK so they won't overlap but they will work together. Correct?

[MOD] Beats Audio on Android

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1511335
This thread has a link to a cwm flashable package that has Beats Audio libraries. I flashed it on my TouchPad and it sounds a lot better, but I might just be crazy?
Note: I'm using Beats headphones with it, not the speakers.
Double Note: I didn't pay for the headphones, don't worry. Ugh. haha

I can confirm that this does bring beats back to the touchpad pretty well. I have noticed that on the latest official nightly of cm9 the audio starts to malfunction when the screen turns off. Sounds like an AM radio and real crackly anyone know a fix?

Doesn't the Touchpad already have Beats Audio built in? The hardware is what's going to make the difference--this is just an equalizer with a bass boost.

Beats Audio isn't indicative of differing hardware. When the libs were extracted from the HTC Rezound, it was discovered that Beats is nothing more than a software EQ, capable of running on any device once the correct files are installed. Flash it and you'll hear a difference.

MIUI sound issues

Since putting miui on my phone I've noticed when listening to music the sound quality is very poor compared to stock or cm9 .
I've been through the equalizer settings but cannot find anything to make it better.
Anyone noticed this or know of a solution

There is some built-in protection for ears and the speakers,so the volume has a limit that cannot be override.
Look in system/lib/soundfx there is libhearingprotection.so maybe if we remove this file the volume will be louder but will not be safe.
I don't have time to test things and I am boring from flashing that's why I'm not active for development.

Look what I "stole" from kindle fire fourms. Also is it possible to...

I was lurking around kindle forums cause my sister has one and wanted a rom for it so I found this beats audio sound apk for settings which is cool but have not tried it on rez yet.
Also is it possible to port over some features from GSIII, like voicing out answer or reject when phone rings, texting while watching a vid, screen wont dim when facing you and some others i dont remember?
EDIT Beats app does work if put into system and its pretty much a themed Dsp manager which looks badass, BUT the settings in the app dont work on Viper rez rom
That would be a TON of work for a Dev to do even one of those.

[MOD] Give ACiD Audio Engine a shot

Hi guys I wanted to share what I found to be working on my Sprint Optimus G.
I've been using this audio engine and the results have been pretty great.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002367
Use the universal installation in aroma and remember if you install walkman don't install any add-ons.
I personally skip the walkman installation and use the noozy add-on.
Please do a nandroid backup before trying and do not install on top of nocturnal's music mod.
Remember not to use music player equalizer as the installed app changes sound system wide.
I haven't tested on a att version so don't know if it works with no issues as on my sprint version but, wanted to put it out there for your guys as well since I've also been reading these threads from the beginning.
Thanks for viewing.

When you install in recovery the Aroma installer starts automatically. You just choose the options. So there are no issues install only universal options.
Didn't get a prompt for Aroma. A few apps were installed and do affect EQ settings. Not sure that it helped any better than stock EQ settings though.
Thanks anyway.

I personally installed it on top of nocturnal's on the sprint side. I had no issues but, I can't say you won't have any. Maybe do a backup, give it a shot and if it doesn't work nandroid back.
Thanks Lenny, I'll give it a go. Do I have to uninstall Walkman first? Side note, have you found ANYTHING that will control the WalkMan player as a widget? I LOVE WalkMan, but I can't seem to find a widget that i can use for it on the home screen.

Bro I looked awhile ago for that and couldn't find anything. Unless someone ports the app with the dedicated widget from the sony side I think it's a no go. As far as your question goes I installed on top of nocturnal's and then disabled the walkman app and other apps from that installation and had no issues but, can't say it will be the same for anyone else.

Audio Output On LG Optimus Makes My Eyes Rain...

Hey folks!
Here's my issue and I hope you guys are able to help me out. I am currently listening to audiobooks from the Optimus G through the aux port in my car.The volume output level, even set to maximum stun, leaves a lot to be desired. Is there a way I can increase the volume output with something like Beats Audio, Bravia Sound, or is there an app that can be used? I am currently running 4.1, rooted, stock and I am using Google Music. I've tried volume+ from the Play store and it did absolutely nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

If you do a quick search on xda for ac!d audio or viper 4 android, those two will do wonders. I know there's also a beats audio installer app on google play that'll do the trick too. Pimpmyrom also has options to install audio mods that will help a bunch too.

Yeah haha I understand. First off make sure to make a nandroid of course. I've found that personally I prefer ac!d version 7 the most, but I've used the beats installer plenty of times, as well as the pimpmyrom option. As far as easiness goes, the pimpmyrom route is probably the easiest, but you're pretty safe going on any of the routes.
